When I first came here, I met many great writers, many of whom I've made friends with. So, you will understand how I always wanted their success because I'm gingered too.
Many of those guys are no longer writing or tired of writing or not as freaked about it as before.
Many posted free books here because they wanted acceptance. And Nairaland gave that.

But soon they realise that the views, comments, and likes don't convert to money. The confidence just keeps crashing down.

Many of these guys give up. Even the new crop of writers did.

I decided to build Writertain Publishers because of this. But it's not easy. Finances and all. Writing is hard especially when you need money and fame to survive.
But we mustn't give up. I know friends that haven't touched a story to write in a long time because of the trouble at ever turn.

So, I'm asking you.


How are you, mentally?

Well, I think I'll object to that. Sorry for the double quote. I don't feel accepted on Nairaland. They're all making me invincible unless I go calling them. Which is kinda frustrating. But I'm fine. And yeah, about what you said about confidence... you're so right. There was a time I gave up completely on writing. Then I was like ‘what's the point?’ It was depressing staying without holding a pen as at that time. Guess that's why it didn't take me long before I got back up.

Whoa. You're the owner of Writertain? I'm so glued to that blog. Got one of my stories there, though.

Well, my brain is stressed. Each time I try to write, I get splitting headaches. Not from the ideas coming, but from the millions of thoughts crowding my mind on how to make my piece worth reading. And do you know the worst thing? Having to balance writing and reading without letting anyone surpass the other. It's hard. Well, who am I to complain? I chose this path. Whew. Feel a little better now letting out how I feel
