I encourage all to make use of the above contact to join in the appeal for quick release of the 1st tranche. Never in the history of YouWin has the program spread through three different years.
YouWin 3 application started November 2013 till December 2014 we are still expecting first tranche. If the first tranche drag into 2015 (God forbid) it will be Nov 2013 to 2015 ... to get 1st tranche.

Well, I have also find a means to start my own since its school, because if I dont start this December then till August. So I have started with venue, chairs, publicity and a few materials needed while still waiting for YouWin for full take off. After all process of Private School Board approval cost more than two hundred and fifty naira (over N250,000)

I called Youwin and spoke wt someone d person says we seem 2 b sleeping since that dont we know that government issue must pass through so many processe. That as far we dont follow up they may not move fast. That they are still telling them soon from Federal Ministry of Finance.

Fellow awardee we need to also call as follow up. But with courtesy even if they seem angry.

Now to business: I went to my bank and they told me that the info they got from YouWin last week made them to so much expected the first tranche on Monday and that they also expected throughout this week. They said they are also eager to see awardees starting their biz.

They even said that they are confused at this juncture because both YouWin 1 and 2, none entered another year. in fact that none reach 3rd week in December, that they thought that YouWiN will be improving each year.

depending on the business, there are still some business that pay off more in December.

Am sure this YouWin 3 awardees are NOT that stupid that they will waste YouWin grant on festivity.
January is worse month to start business and February is the worst because of election. The earlier the money come the better.
Talking of holiday is YouWin a nursery, primary or secondary school that they will start their holiday Friday 19th December as other schools are going on vacation? Despite the unfavorable delay if the 1st tranche still come this week it will still help us to rescue part of the negative situation.
Even those in school business need the money badly this December
Just imagine those into school: having missed the opportunity to start full preparation in August against September 1st term, will they now miss the 2nd chance to start preparation in December against January resumption

I was at my bank, Stanbic IBTC, on Thursday and they made bold to declare that they received a from YouWiN! mandating them to sen them the account numbers and account names of all accounts that are ready unfailingly by Friday 12th December, 2104 and they said that they didn't wait till the Friday, that they've sent them the accounts details since Wednesday.

Surely we are hopeful for next week.

Please those advocating for 2015 should please stop creating doubts in our mind. We have fasted and prayed and God has answered our prayer while we were yet praying. At this point, doubt and unbelief will NOT help us. My faith is anchored and the almighty God who answers prayer.

And with all development its certain that next week our expected alert will land.

Again, let us cast all doubts and unbelief far from us. Our God is at work. And we need strong faith to connect with God.

Finally, I will advise all those who have NOT collected their check book and ATM to go to their banks and demand it by Monday, so that nothing will delay again from our part.

Next week that never comes my advice have January in mind. If the tranche comes before then great! But no give yourself undue anxiety.

But January is abnormal. In fact, it already overdue. The earlier the better. We are several kilometer behind schedule.

I don't understand Stanbic IBTC again! When I went to their office last week they said that the only thing remaining for my account is for their lawyer to get the result of the legal search they submitted to CAC. Now I called today just to be sure, they customer care said that there are some documents that are lacking in my account so that the account is "restricted". Whereas, after opening my account I made a payment and into the account and I received both sms and email alert.

Please those with adequate knowledge of banking can pls advise me. Though I will go to the bank tomorrow to hear this their new story.

They don't submit anything, don't mind them, its the bank's lawyers that follow up with the search, the lawyers have either not gone to confirm the search or the account officer havent informed the lawyers to do d search..
The good news is that your account is opened, but u can't get ur cheque book until the search is confirmed...

Did u register your business in the same state you are opening the account?? If yes all I have said above is true. But if you opened it in a different state then it takes more time for the search to come.
My advice is to go there every day until it is done, or call their customer service line expressing your displeasure... Tell them how long you started the process of opening an acount and up till now they are telling u that the search is not ready..

I checked my bank today as suggested. That is Stanbic IBTC, to confirm the status of my account and I was dumbfounded when my account officer told me that they have submitted the the legal search to CAC ever since and CAC has NOT responded.

What do my fellow awardee suggest we do at this juncture. Because they said that the YouWiN accounts have been opened but the problem is with CAC that are working at snail speed.

God will deliver us from this "Nigerian factor" where government work is done any how

This is to remind you that you are required to open a corporate bank account in the name of your registered business. This account will be used to disburse the YouWiN! Grant funds for your business. If you have commenced the account opening process, ensure that it is completed before December 12, 2014. This will enable the secretariat to commence the processing of Tranche 1 funds.

Kindly visit the nearest bank branch of your YouWiN! designated bank with the following (originals and photocopies);

a. CAC certificate and supporting documents which include particulars of shareholders and directors where applicable or a partnership deed duly notarized by a commissioner of Oath to show ownership of majority shares by 51% and above).

b. YouWiN! Legal agreement.

Please note that you are to open the account as the ONLY signatory as you will be fully responsible for managing the grant funds.

If you are in the Education related sector and are having challenges with this process, you are encouraged to apply for provisional approval from the State Ministry of Education where your business is/will be located to enable you complete the account opening process.

Well I did not get the mail. Can you post the address that sent you the mail. It appears you are the only one that got the mail on this thread.

On the issue of account opening, please let us contact other awardees that we know, but are NOT on this forum to go to their banks tomorrow Friday 5th December to find out the status of their account, so that if there is any problem they can as a matter of urgency contact YouWiN! secretariat for swift assistance and one of us rightly suggested, we can as well put our heads together to see how to help one another out as YouWiN is doing their own from their own angle.

Also, I want to appeal to all awardees on this forum to also visit their banks and ask about their account status from their account officer, so that we can be 100% sure if we are done and if any problem then we all can put our head together to help resolve it as YouWiN secretariat carry out their own part.

As we all wait for the 1st tranche, my strategy for now is to take my time as YouWin! payments dictates, I’ll also gradually bring in my own funds - I don’t even have all of it now. I am not in a hurry because I am still working (I advice that no one should resign except they have other sources of additional funds to commence their business). My 1st tranche will be used for land (either buy land or rent a suitable property - not yet decided as it depends on what I can get), trademark registration and any initial site work. Then I’ll get invoices and proforma for equipment, machines, generator, BOQ for any buildings/construction, estimates for Nafdac registrations to support tranche 2 trigger, quotations for any marketing, etc. These will support 2nd tranche request.

Tranche 2 will generally depend on how fast you can trigger your request. For Youwin 2, the 1st tranche was paid sometime between end of September and early November 2013 - can’t remember exact dates, while 2nd tranche was paid in December 2013. This was the case for people who triggered 2nd tranche request early, had good documentation which was Ok for the monitors; other people may have had different experiences which led to delayed payments. Their 3rd tranche was mostly paid in July 2014.

Generally, everyone’s business is different as well as the plans, so what you can do with your tranches will vary. Overall, if you are going to do something different from what was in your winning business plan, it will be advisable to get consent of your monitor(s) or at least be able to defend your decisions when they come knocking. Don’t forget they may not even show up until after you trigger 2nd tranche request.

God bless u "Ibrahym" This your post give hope to the success of this YouWiN! and will lift some of us who have been thinking about previous comments by past awardees "that how can it just be a trend that 1st tranche will be after 3 and half month, 2nd tranche 7 months after (that is already 10 and half months of frustration)." That means some of them use their peculiar experience to generalize and weaken new awardees.

Fellow awardees, lets NOT be discouraged. Once more, let us embark on the prayer and fasting to change all abnormalities in this credible program. Those, who might have been discourage and miss today's fating and prayer should please embark on their own tomorrow Friday 5th December.

In fact, I am going on three days fasting and prayer, not just for this YouWiN 3, but also for subsequent ones. I don't pray that future winners continue to experience this type of delay that has adversely affected every awardee.

Hahahaha! You have not even started the journey and you have started complaining, I want to tell you something, Don't make your plan based on YouWIN promises. I always tell awardees that if youwin promise 1 month, add 2months and half to it making 3 months and half before expecting... They would frustrate your plan.

In YouWIN 1 they frustrated us so much and from experience, just make sure until you see the money before ordering anything. Make sure 2nd tranche is enough to kick start your business.

Though, it appears that "utimatedes" is making mockery of the fasting, but ironically, he ended up giving me more strong reasons to join in the fasting and prayer. Yes, the fact that there was undue delay in YouWiN 1 does not make it right and it also does not mean the trend MUST continue. And that is the more reasons why we MUST ALL fast and pray to change the tide.

School owners will tell you that first term which is the best of terms is come and gone and all he/she can struggle for now is to see how to make up this December against second term, which is only second chance.

On the issue of crude oil. In fact it is to our advantage, because I make bold to declare that this YouWiN! is the best thing that ever happen to this country. Now the best thing any government will do now is to diversify the economy and this YouWiN! program has accorded this government the opportunity to do that. So more naira crumble the more government need you and I to help in stabilizing the economy and the more oil crash the more better efforts needed to be place to ensure that YouWiN! work.

The best thing that can happen to help rescue the YouWiN! 3 time lost now is the speedy release of this first tranche this week unfailingly.

Sorry if I come across as a hard man. But what I told you about the release of tranches is the stone cold truth. Awardees should use their first tranche carefully and ensure that their businesses are making money. We do not know what 2015 will bring. The government may stop the program due to dwindling finances. Or they may not (we pray this is the case). Inside information has it that YouWIN has had many enemies especially from the Northern elite. GEJ and NOI had to stand their ground to force the program through. Otherwise which of all our presidents has ever come up with something like this which is evaluated strictly on merit? In Nigeria? Haaaah!

Just use your tranche 1 carefully. Tranche 2 typically takes time because its release depends on satisfactory tranche 1 usage. There will be lots of monitoring visits. Those who are bad in keeping records or accounting should purchase Quickbooks software and learn to use it now, because you MUST send your monthly financial reports for the entire 1 year you will be supervised. Once you navigate tranche 1 and 2, tranche 3 is usually released in the 12th month, and is yours to keep or use as you want.

Tranche 1 and 2 are critical, but the release times are unsteady, unpredictable and can be very long. Dem say advice no be curse.

I met an awardee who said after the tension soaked checking of phone whenever text comes in, she started weeping on Friday that November is gone and nothing. I pitied her because after the signing of the MOU she resigned from her work expecting the first tranche. The building she got very cheap at a good location someone took it that same Friday. "Eya... Oro topoloko lekun, oun laparo fi serin keke ninu igbo" Meaning the issue that make Tiger weep that is what a small bird is laughing off in the bush.

Well Monday is coming again. I pray that one of the alerts should be he expected tranche, so as to douse tension.
