After speaking to a young man, who pleaded anonymity, said he had yet to be paid for the three months of community service he rendered. He also stated that no concrete reason was given to explain the delay in payment.

He said the banks claim payments are been made from CBN but they are yet to be paid a dime.

“It was a federal government job, so we had no doubts about payment; we were so confident that we would be paid, but now, we are yet to be paid even a dime for the job we did”.

In January 2021, recall that the Federal Government had flagged off the 774,000 jobs, with each participant expected to receive N20,000 for the three months of the contract.

The Federal Government on Monday November 1st said about N7.3 billion was yet to be paid to the remaining beneficiaries of its 774, 000 Special Public Works Programme (SPWP).

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, gave this hint during a budget defence session organised by the Senate Committee on Labour and Productivity, in Abuja.

Keyamo claimed he had directed the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), to commence the processing of payments for the workers engaged in the 774 local government areas.

After lots of complain of non payment, the minister said payments will resume in december and everyone will be paid. From our findings, most of them have not been pain in December and claim to have lost faith in the minister.

The minister claimed 7.3 billion naira has been disbursed and everyone of them will be paid by December.

At this present moment, most of them claim not to have been paid.
