FreeStuffsNG: Nice. All we want is politics without bloodshed and bitterness. Good evening my adorable fellow patriotic Nigerians. Please, I plead with you to vote Asiwaju Tinubu. Ignore the naysayers and bitter bigoted tribesmen who peddle lies, bigotry, bitterness and hatred for Asiwaju Tinubu because Asiwaju Tinubu is not from their tribe, religion and political party. Asiwaju Tinubu is an experienced public administrator and a Patriot to the core. He will deliver and keep his promises to lead Nigeria to greater heights. Asiwaju Tinubu is a brilliant visionary leader. Please vote for Asiwaju Tinubu. Thank you. May God bless you and may God bless Nigeria forever. You cannot mention politics without bloodshed and tinubu in the same sentence. We all know how he murdered Funsho Williams

Politics › Re: Losing Is Part Of The Game - By Femi Adesina by Bantu10: 9:00pm On Jan 28, 2022 |
presidency: [s]Soccer-loving Nigerians were heartbroken last Sunday when the Super Eagles of Nigeria could not fly higher than the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in the second round match of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament holding in Cameroon.
We have talked about Man City and the loss to Crystal Palace. After that week, they went ahead to win the next 12 EPL games, and the fairy tale run did not end till last Saturday, when they played 1-1 away to Southampton FC. You win some, you lose some.
Football can be cruel at times. There can be a humiliation of the brightest and best, but it does not mean the end of the beautiful game. After falling, you get up, dust your pants, and move on, waiting for another day. “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up,” says renowned American football coach, Vince Lombardi.
Now, see a few checklist of humiliations of great soccer playing teams and nations, and see whether it calls for the otiose politicking, as we saw with some Nigerians earlier this week.
AC Milan and Real Madrid are super powers in football. But at the semi final of the European Cup in 1989, Milan handed a 5-0 trouncing to Madrid.
In the run up to winning the European Champions League last year, Bayern Munich crushed the great Barcelona FC 8-2. The defeated team included world’s best, Lionel Messi.
Argentina is a super power in soccer. But in a 2009 World Cup qualifier, it lost 1-6 to Bolivia. Scandalous!
Brazil, possibly the best soccer playing country in the world, hosted the World Cup in 2014. They had reached the semi final, and were clear favorites to lift the trophy. They met Germany, and got thumped 7-1. Outrageous! Well, losing is part of the game.
Argentina, under the legendary Diego Maradona lost a World Cup game to Germany 4-0. France beat Brazil 3-0 at France ‘98. The old Czechoslovakia trounced Argentina 6-1 before, England slumped to Hungary 3-6 at Wembley Stadium, their home base, while Portugal fell 0-10 to England at Lisbon in 1953. Spain beat Germany 6-0 in 2020. I say it again: losing is part of the game.
One thing was clear from the way the Super Eagles played their firs three matches at AFCON. The German Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, should have been fired long ago. He contributed nothing to Nigerian soccer. The team played better under the tutelage of home based Augustine Eguavoen. As the Sports and Youth Development Minister, Sunday Dare, has said, the team “faced the challenge bravely and gave a good account of themselves.”
On those making mischievous political capital out of the loss, the Minister rightly said: “We, as a nation win together, and we lose together. Sports is a unifying factor and those that seek to use it as vectors of division, targeting players with hate speech and making irresponsible statements should rise above such behavior. We are much better than that as a people.”
The best players in the world-Pele, Maradona, Johan Cruyff, Messi, Ronaldo, etc have lost, and still lose matches. Under Muhammadu Buhari as military head of state, we won our first Under 17 global trophy in 1985. In this dispensation, we have won the same trophy twice. So, why do the heathens rage, and the people imagine vain things?
“Winning is not everything-but making the EFFORT to win is,” says Lombardi. Super Eagles made the effort to win, encouraged by their President, but they lost. Sad. But that is how it is, till another day. Losing is an inevitable part of the game.

Emma15678: 1. If bandits have that power to attack a presidential jet what will hinder them from attacking commercial aircrafts to get ransom. I want to see evidence you mentioned. The alpha jet that was attacked was very old around 20 years. 2. Buhari doesn't believe in negotiating with terrorists before their surrender. He refused to grant amnesty to bandits despite Gumi's request. 3. What will hinder him from using a jet if not for weather. I can see that I am having a discourse with a zombie. |
Politics › Re: President Buhari Addresses The People Of Zamfara, Explains Reason For Absence by Bantu10: 3:54am On Jan 28, 2022 |
Emma15678: Lies upon lies. 1. Which evidence have you that Buhari paid bandits to be allowed to fly over katsina except irresponsible anonymous sources. 2. In your village planes can operate under bad weather. If Buhari still landed in Maidugiri weeks back despite terrorist rockets, I don't know whom he will fear. 1. There is enough evidence that the presidential air fleet managed by the Nigerian airforce paid the bandits for the safe passage of the president. You don't want to believe coz you just don't want to. 2. The flight path from abuja to Maiduguri does not take you through the terrains of the bokoharam and iswap which is closer to the Chad region or belt. So there's nothing to fear flying to Maiduguri. Commercial and humanitarian flights happen from abuja to Maiduguri daily so it's no big deal. But reverse is the case flying a chopper from sokoto to zamfara, you must fly through those hot spots and therefore not safe for him, moreso when it is a helicopter to be used. It flies way lower and slower than fixed winged aircrafts - making it an easier target for the bandits if they really want to attack him. |

Chartey: It's unbelievable that the HR and Finance/Compliance departments of all the 7 UN organisations are not remitting tax of their staff. Totally unbelievable.
INGOs in Nigeria take extra to make sure that all statutory deductions like tax, NHF, pension as well as welfare benefits like health insurance are properly paid. So now imagine a whole UN with the best compliance, finance and HR departments not doing that. Very very unlikely.
There's just more to it. The state government has been increasingly hostile to NGOs recently for reasons best known to them. The federal government needs to get involved before Borno state government will cause problems for Nigeria in securing humanitarian aid going forward. No bro, it's a common knowledge in the humanitarian world that UN staff does not pay tax nor pension. Unlike other humanitarian organizations here (even the ones with diplomatic status), they do not with hold Payee tax nor statutory pension deductions from their staff salaries, Reason why their take home salary is always huge. I work with an iNGO and my sis works for a UN agency here in Nigeria. |
In all of these Twitterbrouhaha, this is the part We love most. Thumbs up Twitter!
Slow and steady we will get to the nation of our dreams.
God bless Nigeria. Twitter made a statement in which they said they don't know President Buhari and which country he runs. When you're blinded by hate and self imposed narrow mindedness, you will applaud someone who is clearly insulting you. Most Nigerians who are sympathetic with Twitter today don't know how much of an insult this comment is to even them. They see Buhari as the target here but there are two elements in this insult. Twitter says they don't know President Buhari. But they didn't stop there. They also added that they don't know the country he is leading. In other words they don't know Nigeria. Twitter is brazenly saying they don't know Africas most populous nation and the country with the highest concentration of black people in the world. Twitter is brazenly saying they don't know a country where over 11 billion dollars of their revenue comes from with over 40 million subscribers.
Some years ago Pastor Chris Oyakhilome chose to use twitter to communicate some prayer information to Christ Embassy members worldwide. Within few weeks Pastor Chris broke the records of having the most amount of followers within such a short period. In their arrogance, Twitter called Pastor Chris' twitter account to question and described the followership as bogus. Simply put, Twitter believed that nobody from a place like Nigeria had enough clout to garner such followership within such a short time - a feat that no Hollywood star was able to achieve -. Pastor Chris wasn't prepared for their drama, he pulled out of twitter and challenged his church tech people to design a platform that the church can use. That's what gave birth to Yookos. Today Yookos is a formidable competitor with Twitter so much so that ex President Barack Obama acknowledged the giant strides made by the platform within such a short time after it was launched. Eventually twitter confirmed Pastor Chris' account and "apologized" but it was too late. Pastor Chris had moved his huge followership into Yookos. Several years later Twitter is saying that they don't know the country that the same Pastor Chris comes from. That's arrogance taken too far. Any Nigerian who tolerates this insult is just a self hating sychophant. Someone says you and your country don't matter and you're jubilating. Is that not a serious sickness?
