“… those saying we are having wooden pyramids or bags of sand; these are pessimists who do not wish this country well. And in fact, it’s an insult to the hardworking Nigerian farmer that toil under sun and rain in spite of the insecurity to provide food …”

That was the position of the Rice Farmers’ Association of Nigeria’s Director of Administration, Engr. Saleh Alhassan in an exclusive interview with EGTAI TV concerning a picture making rounds alleging that the pyramids that were unveiled on 18th January, 2022 were wooden planks with a few bags of husks and sand placed on them.

He stated that people who benefit from the importation of toxic rice into Nigeria are responsible for the false images. The engineer said he knows the importers will not stop throwing stones at the achievements of RIFAN and the Buhari-led administration in rice sufficiency.

Also, Engr. Alhassan invited any person who is in doubt to visit the pyramid site tomorrow, 27th January, 2022 by 10am to witness the evacuation process and see for themselves that the pyramids are neither husk, sand nor built on wooden frames. Promising that the association will keep improving in its operations, he reiterated the need for criticisms which will help refine their policies.

He finally promised that after the paddies have been evacuated and milled, Nigerians can buy rice at very cheap rates and called on every citizen to be patient.

Seriously sir, we sincerely hope we can! Your agency may really be doing so well but the truth is that how many will be very much available to yield the fruit of their waiting?
The president may have done so well with your agency but the truth remains, Nigerians are dying!
Please don't blame a hungry man for being angry.

What does optimism has to do with a dead soul bro? I am a very realistic person, even if we lie to the world we should never lie to ourselves.
The people dying today, what is your plan for them? Perhaps to compensate their family when your plan is fully hatched with some grains of rice.
What a country!

With your "supposed socalled" pyramids, how much is a bag of rice? Benin republic have no pyramids, yet Nigerians still go across the borders to smuggle a product that is supposedly in abundance in Nigeria. Quit the lies please, we have had enough.

@RIFANNigeria

You can't blame Nigerians for doubting the veracity of the pyramid because this government is full of lies and deceit.

But come to think it, what is the essence of the so-called rice pyramid when the price of a bag of rice in the market is still beyond the minimum wage. How much was a bag of rice as at the time this government took over in 2015 and how much is it now.

Nigerians are not excited one bit about Buhari commissioning a pyramid of rice rather Nigerians will only get excited if they go to the market and found out that the price of rice has crashed to below ₦10,000 per 50kg where this Buhari government met it in 2015.
