What's going on here with respect to all the denials of the those of the world concerning the Holy Spirit is not far-fetched for Jesus Himself said to His disciples:

So it shouldn't be surprising when those of the world as the atheists who do not believe God exists, do not accept the truth concerning His Spirit, for it's just those of God who know Him that would be able to do so.

Hearing from God is usually from a gradual process of your relationship with Him

Most times He doe start this relationship with many Christians via dreams and visions
Until you matured to hear His voice

I am able to tell the difference as it didn't start in a day

In my own case,I was always studying the bible and seeing how he communicated with different bible characters
I had longed to communicate with whom the people around me called God

We also had a family friend whom I can remember till this day

Who has a profound gift in the word of knowledge

This woman sees almost everything ,this got me thinking even as a seven year old
She could speak about events 2 weeks back with clarity(so I concluded even without any knowledge of God then at 7 years old that there was a Guy who know everything )

His appearance in that particular dream was inform of a wind

I was favoured too to meet Christ as I grew

Most of my encounters as a young boy were in dreams till I started studying and praying

Then I started hearing his voice confirming my dreams with scriptures

Kindly not that the Holy Spirit does teach the scriptures

Then I started asking Him questions too

There is voice of our conscience which is part of a guidance from God to everyone
To know Good and evil

( imaginations:::I do not have much knowledge on this)

But what is guaranteed in hearing the voice of God is first of all a good understanding of scriptural principles (most times the most common of scriptural verses is what God will use to explain Himself or a situation to you..

Any voice not inline with scripture is not the voice of God

That way you can easily deduce if its your conscience or an imagination

Your understanding of the above is totally a thing of maturity

You are not in the kingdom of God if you are still claiming to be smart

The kingdom is for people controlled by the spirit of wisdom ,therefore there operation is in wisdom and not in smartness

Another one was a yahoo boy that had wanted to use me for rituals
