The leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu has openly revealed that federal government offered him five south eastern states to make up the proposed Biafra state if he wants Biafra. Kanu made this statement when leaders of Igbo Civil Society Coalition led by Prof. Obasi Igwe paid him a solidarity visit at his Umuahia home.

Kanu made this comment on Wednesday, July 19 that while he was in detention, he was offered Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu state to form Biafra but he rejected it. He instead insisted that he wanted a Biafra with Rivers and Benue States. He said:

“They gave me Biafra in Prison with only the five Igbo states; I said no, I want Benue and Rivers” “Biafra is coming, there is nothing to stop it”. Kanu also lashed out Igbo leaders for being against Biafra saying they have no interest in Igbo masses.

The IPOB leader also disclosed that he was offered oil bloc and mansion in Dubai to drop his agitation but said he declined saying he wanted only Biafra

On the other hand, Some Niger Delta militant groups declared their support for the leader of the IPOB over his decision to boycott the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra state. The Nation reports that groups, Concerned Militant Leaders (CML), Niger Delta People Democratic Front (NDPDF) and Rainbow Marabas Squad (RMS) said they are unhappy over the May 30, 2016, when soldiers allegedly massacred harmless and innocent IPOB members.

The groups, General Ben (CML), General Playboy (NDPDF) and General Aneaja (RMS), in a statement issued via online after their meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, demanded for justice for the victims of the May 30, 2016, Biafra Day celebration killings.

Orji Uzor Kalu, former Abia State governor, have bluntly warned that Igbo and the whole of South East region will not take for granted any act of violence against igbos in other parts of the country.
This Mr. Kalu said with passion on Tuesday during a programme aired on the Africa Television Authority, AIT.

His comment was in response to the threat by some northern youth for Nigerians of Igbo ethnic nationality to leave the northern region by October 1 or be forced out.
He said the comments were coming from “unserious northerners”.

Mr. Kalu said,
“Anybody that touches any Igbo man in terms of (saying) that we should quit; the country will go into war, and I will lead the war; if Igbos are touched”.
He continued: “Nobody can touch Igbos because this is our country. If anybody kills any of our brothers, we will go and fight back. We will not take it lightly that anybody kills any of us and then you will tell us to go and take it lightly again; no! We will not take that,” said Mr. Kalu.


Again, he dismissed the call for repatriation of Igbo from the north as “nothing”, saying the threat came from “unscrupulous Nigerians seeking cheap popularity”.

“The quit notice means nothing; I know when northerners speak, I will see their hand when they speak, I was trained by them so I know when they are serious.
“No reasonable northern elder will do that; did Adamu Ciroma say so? Did Babangida say so? Did President Abdulsalam say so? Will Aliko support that? Only people who are looking for cheap popularity.”
“It’s just like you seeing me struggling for the secession of the country you will know that my heads have gone nuts. The unity of the country is not negotiable.”
“When you say northern elders, I don’t know whether Sultan, Emir of Kano and his likes are asking us to quit. If all these people come out and say we should quit; we will quit. We are not afraid of quitting. But Nigerian unity is more important,” Mr. Kalu said.

Speaking on the way forward, the former governor said Nigeria’s religious and community leaders have a huge responsibility to inculcate the culture of nation building among Nigerians.
“The hatred is too much. I think the best way is to get religious leaders to start preaching peace. You cannot imagine that if something happens in Pakistan; they will go and kill Igbo or kill someone from the south. That is not right,” said Mr. Kalu.

He added that the message of tolerance should be preached across the country.
“The meeting the Acting President was calling only Igbo and Hausa people is not the right thing to do, he should invite all the six geo-political zones because the problem is everywhere,” he said.

As the no vote campaign starts, this is what i think

Am actually indifferent about the no vote stance of Ipob and all those who come online to rants as to people voting or not. The reality is, most of the people against the no vote stance and rant online about the stance are mostly not from Anambra and when they are from Anambra, most are not based in Anambra, and when there are based in Anambra, many may not have their voter card and when they have it, some will not vote and when they vote, they are in the minority.

IPOB's fan base are the Okada riders, keke men/women, the traders,tailors, carpenters, mechanics, market women, fruit sellers, transporters, a sizable percent of civil servants and students etc. IPOB have been very smart in winning the heart of these people. While most people who think smart of themselves spend time ranting and abusing IPOB online, IPOB has been busy with the grassroots, galvanizing them,gaining their trust and loyalty. This has been the tactics of some of the most grass-rooted politicians like fayose and aregbeshola. Their method may be different but the focal point has always been the grassroot because that is where you have the most support. Unlike the wannabe sophisticated people who always want to form educated,polished and come online to show themselves(this i mean for all tribes including the igbos). These grassroot supporters dont have that time. Many may not even have phones and access to internet to read all the rantings.

Once IPOB are able to captured the grassroots, they can and will always determine the direction of ideology, vote(if in politics) and power struggle

so based on this, if you like scream and abuse Nnamdi kanu and IPOB, it wont change anything. They are more focus than we can assume and it will be to ones peril to underestimate them. the only thing now is to dialogue with him and make him see reasons or better still, import paid voters from other states like they do in the past. A woman identified as Margaret Udiamehi was raped and beheaded by Fulani herdsmen at Ekpoma, Esan West LGA of Edo state. Another woman earlier escaped from the herdsman who pursued her but they took her cutlass.

Angry women of the community have taken to the streets of Ekpoma to demand for the expulsion of all herdsmen from the village and environs The protesters went to the palace of Onojie of Ekpoma and the Divisional Police headquarters to vent their anger.

Speaking on behalf of the protesters, one of the women who gave her name as Grace said they were tired of watching strangers destroyed their crops, rape and kill women in the village.
The daughter of the deceased said her mother left for farm in the morning and did not return home which made a search party to the organised to look for her. .

She said they searched through the night before her naked body was discovered at about 2am and her head chopped off.

Divisional Police Officer in Ekpoma, SP Franklin Akanonu, who confirmed the killing have deployed policemen to the Ujuelen camp of Fulani herdsmen to protect them from any possible reprisal attacks.
