For those who don't get what Peter Obi is proposing here, his policy is based on Nigeria's population (also population per state and size) and how far Nigerians have to travel within the country to access care. Some states may have 2 or 3 while some have zero.

Look at the models of US and India where many people travel to from Nigeria for cancer treatment:

India has 142 major cancer centres, research institutes and healthcare organizations.

US (a little above Nigeria's population) has 74 NCI-designated cancer centres, including 58 Comprehensive cancer centers across 37 states. New York alone has 8.

The US is not a little above our population mind. 100 plus million people is not a little.

I empathize with you on your dad's condition. People who do not have relatives that have suffered from cancer do not appreciate how devastating and draining (financially, emotionally and spiritually) the situation can be. In year 2020, my mom was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. She was at the LUTH cancer centre (private ward) and another private hospital for oncology treatment. After, several sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy over the course of 5 years, she died 2025. I pray for a more positive outcome for your dad and may God continue to give you and other family members the strength to continue caring for him. Amen.

This doctors are just toying with people's life , they give my mom Tramadol and Dihydrocodeine, chatgpt says that was a very wrong combination for a 75 years old and now she has lost her memory.

This is so sad and heartbreaking. This country. Thank you and hopefully she recovers better sooner

They won't tell him. My dad has cancer, we know it's at last stage. I have asked all the doctors at LUTH that have come to work on him a simple question, what stage of cancer is this, they’ll all tell me, let’s wait for my senior colleague or wait for the department in charge. That transparency is not there

I understand where you are coming from a current person experience. My dad had a surgery at LUTH last week and the complications is just so grave. I understand the surgery is merely paliative care but it took the particular doctors about 7 days to come after they came last Monday and even made a mistake in the scan they asked us to have my dad undergo.
