Truly, wonders shall never end, this story was hard to believe not until we got a confirmation. Gospel comedian, Edobor Charles [aka Edo Charles] is currently in court with his wife, Vera Adiche, who is from Ibusa in Delta State, over some messy marital issues.
The couple who tied the knots at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Victoria Island, Lagos, on November 27, 2010, lived together for only 6 days before calling it quits!
And as would be expected, allegations and counter allegations have been emanating from both camps. While the woman accused the man of neglect and also not supporting her music career, the man is alleging that she is an adulterer. Specifically, he accused her of sleeping with her boss, Anesi Igharue, leader of the popular Sharp Band. Continue....
Sources who have been following their divorce mess alleged that Vera is currently pregnant for Mr. Anesi and that he has rented a flat for her in Jakande Estate, Lekki, Lagos…

According to YES INTERNATIONAL Magazine, Anesi and his band performs every Wednesday at the Soul Lounge, Lekki and at Crescendo, on Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA, Lagos every Friday. One of the biggest bands in the country, they are regularly busy at high profile events.
From Agenebode, Edo State, Anesi has 5 daughters – two from his first wife, three from his second, Blossom. The second wife is also alleged to have moved out of their Lekki home over this raging adultery allegation.
Edo Charles and Vera, 35, met at a church programme in Surulere, Lagos over a decade ago. They courted for 10 years before walking down the aisle in 2010. 6 days after their wedding, they had a serious disagreement, the woman moved out of their Surulere, Lagos home and returned 21 days later with two bouncers, her brother and others to pack all her belongings.
Efforts to reconcile them by concerned well wishers and family members did not yield any fruitful results until sometime in 2011 when she filed for divorce. The matter is still pending in court. Edo Charles, a popular gospel comedian, is also in his 30s. Slim and fair skinned, the rib cracker is the creator of Enter The Laughter With Edo Charles, a free comedy programme which he takes round churches to spread the gospel.
When YES! contacted him on Thursday, July 3, 2014, the Benin City, Edo State born laughter merchant said he didn’t have anything to say. “I have no comments”.
Later in the day when we also got in touch with Anesi, he denied it, saying: “I’m just hearing this from you. I don’t even understand this at all. I don’t know anything about any lady called Vera. Yes, I’m the leader of the band, but I’m surprised at this your investigation because I don’t know how much of a public person I am. I don’t even know this Vera you are talking about”, he repeated one more time.
But on her part, Vera was very furious when we got in touch with her at exactly 12:18pm. Hear her: “How can you call to tell me such things? I’ve been working for Sharp Band for 8 years and it’s now that you are saying such things. You are an investigative journalist, when you get your answers right on the question you asked, then you can call me back. This does not make any sense to me. I don’t have time for all these games. If someone has sent you on this, go and tell him or her that it won’t work. What kind of rubbish is this?”
Lastly, YES! put a call through to Blossom, Mr Anesi’s estranged wife. And her response was not only shocking, but also straight to the point: “Yes, the story is true! They are lying that they don’t know each other or for claiming that they don’t know what you are saying. You can verify from other members of the band as well. Actually, I don’t know how you got this information, but you must have done your investigation very well before coming up with this because it is absolutely true. This Vera issue has been there for long. It is an open secret. I’m separated from my husband as a result of this.
“But what do you expect both of them to say? They would lie to you of course. I was married to Anesi in 2004. That was about 10 years ago and got separated from him about 2 years ago. I had three children for him and he had two other issues before we got married, making five children that are under my care. Anyway, I’m at work now. I will call you back…”
Abeg na who dey lie o? Husband say he doesn’t know any Vera but Vera says she works with him. Nawao!

The Imo state Police command yesterday July 6th paraded 25 suspected and prospective cult members of some polytechnics in Imo state, including the Alvan Ikoku College of Education and Imo state Polytechnic.
The Police acting on a tip off from residents of Emi village in Owerri North local government area stormed the Emi river at about 3.30am when initiation process for new members was being carried out. The young men were arrested after a gun battle with the police. Marijuana, weapons and all manner of charms were found with them.

However, some of the students who were arrested said they were being initiated against their will. One of them, Emenike Lawrence (pictured above) said he followed one of his friend out to see another friend who had promised to buy them drink and it was when they got to the bar that he was beaten and taken to a forest for initiation

“I went out with one of his friend who said I should follow him to go and see someone, a friend of his. I escorted him because he said that his friend is going to buy us drink and that if we drink we would come back, that is at Mission side. We reached there, some boys came out and started beating me. They took me inside a very big forest and then started beating us. That was their form of initiation before the police came and started shooting gun.” he said

Sunday Boboye, a traditional ruler, ‘Ogboni’ cult member and renouned herbalist has dumped his deities, renounced his 10 years of service to the gods and given his life to Christ.
Speaking with Saturday Sun, the 45-year-old herbalist based in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, disclosed how he committed terrible sins with the dark powers the ancestral gods he served gave him.
On why he joined the occultic group, Ogboni, he said, “I wanted powers to face the mighty and powerful people who have usurped my fathers’ land. To do this, I needed to accept one of the highest titles in the land and which was my family’s royal entitlement. It is the Ajagun (General at war) of Ode land.”
After his initiation, he had access to dreaded powers that not only made him very popular in Ondo State but also made many to fear and tremble before him. Continue below......
“If I decreed that somebody would die tomorrow, that is what will happen. The person will die. If I tell
somebody that he would not eat the next day, the person must be prepared because that is what would happen. And if I decreed that someone would not sleep in his house the following night. It also would also happen. I was doing all these using the dark powers bestowed on me by serving the devil.
While narrating the incident that led to his conversion to Christianity, Boboye said: “In January, an unusual Christian from The Lord’s Chosen church who had come to buy some pieces of land from me, challenged me on the gods I was serving.
“I had boasted to him that I had remained safe, taking over all our ancestral land from our enemies all these years because the gods of my fathers have been protecting me. But the man told me that the only most powerful, who can protect me surely is Jesus Christ. He further advised me to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior but I said that couldn’t happen because I couldn’t lose the tremendous powers I have. The man then told me that if I refused to accept Christ and serve the true living God, God would arrest me one day and bring me to Him. I told him to tell his God to bring me to Him if He likes. It wasn’t up to a month after that encounter; I got roped in a robbery case.”
On getting to the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) of the police in Akure, he was arrested and thrown in jail instead.
“Whenever, I have a case with the police, I don’t spend more than five minutes before solving it because I’m very popular with the police in the state… the policemen feared me, because I could pronounce a curse on them and they would be dismissed, but that night things turned suddenly against me. The police threw me into the cell and the next morning, my driver was brought to me. I was asked if I knew him and I said he is my driver. The police then said that I was being arrested on the suspicion that I sent the boy to rob.”
“My driver denied robbing anybody but the policemen beat the hell out of the two of us and threw us into the cell again. The next morning I was taken to the court and from there I was sent back to prison. And that was when a long nightmare began for me. I was detained and refused bail for over five months but God Himself visited me in the prison.”
One of his mates in the prison, a deadly thug turned Christian convert, Dagas preached to him.
“A prison mate named Dagas, who was jailed for being a deadly thug but had become a Christian convert in prison, preached to me and I was touched. One day, I had a powerful dream after praying with Dagas. I saw my dad by my bed in prison. He asked me if all the ancestral gods I was serving have saved me. He gave me a Yoruba Bible and asked me to first read Psalm 119: 68 which reads: ‘Before I was afflicted, I had gone astray. When I woke up and told Daggas about the dream, he praised God and said that my being imprisoned was God’s design to save me. Dagas said that it wasn’t my father who appeared in my dream but God himself. The brother urged me to continue to pray to God to deliver me from the prison… Barely a week after, the same judge who had been refusing me bail, rejected several sureties and all that, miraculously granted me bail.”
Having surrendered to Christ at the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Boboye advised the other traditional rulers, saying: “My advice to all the Obas and the chiefs is that they should accept Christ because He is the one that can solve their problems.
“Now that I have accepted Christ, I have peace of mind, I’m no longer afraid of anybody. In fact, before anything would happen to me, God would have revealed it to me in details in a vision. I have burnt all the shrines I built for these small gods and I have denounced them publicly,” he stated.

Tragedy struck at the Onikolobo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday when a 33-year-old man, Oluwatosin Otaiku, stabbed himself to death after his fiancee, Olaogun Oluwatoyin, discontinued their relationship.

According to PUNCH Metro, Otaiku killed himself after his woman told him she was no longer interested in the relationship. After the girlfriend made a U-turn, the deceased was said to have become worried, and this made neighbours, who were aware of the development, intervene. Efforts were made to reconcile them. On one of such occasions, an eyewitness said the duo was invited to discuss in privacy inside a shop at Safari junction in Onikolobo. Otaiku had hid a knife in his pocket, prepared to end it all if therewas no truce. Unfortunately, Olaogun stood her ground and maintained that she could not continue with the relationship.

On hearing this unfavourable verdict, the deceased reportedly brought out the knife from his pocket which made Olaogun to run out of the shop, thinking she was the target. She immediately alerted neighbours who rushed into the shop and met the deceased stabbing himself.

Otaiku was rushed to the Mercy Hospital in the Panseke area of Abeokuta. From there, he was referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, also in Abeokuta, but he died on the way to the hospital.

The case was said to have been reported at the Adigbe Police Division and policemen were sent to the scene for investigation. While they took the remains of Otaiku to the Ijaye General Hospital mortuary, three other people were whisked away in a Hilux Van marked, NPF 7092 C.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, confirmed the incident, adding that the police were still holding on to Otaiku’s remains until a postmortem examination would be carried out.

Adejobi explained that the command was still examining the statements by the suspects and eyewitnesses.
He said:

“The lady is still with us, she is still our suspect for now until we carry out a proper investigation on the corpse. We need some time to study the statements, but the expert’s opinion is to carry out a postmortem on the body which we are going to do. I can assure you that the command will do the needful in order to get to the root of the incident.”

A ritualist den owned by one pastor Ernest Nwankwo, the General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy was yesterday June 25th uncovered at Ogolonto area in Ikorodu, Lagos, with 8 victims rescued.
According to Vanguard, the den was discovered after a failed attempt by a woman identified as Mrs Rosemary Chukwu, a member of Pastor Nwankwo’s church, to kidnap her neighbor’s 7 year old son, Emeka Emmanuel to the den for rituals.

Sources in the area said around 6.30 am yesterday, Mrs Chukwu lured the little boy who was on his way to fetch water from a well down the road and took him to her house where she locked him in the toilet. To keep her neighbors from hearing the little boy’s screams for help, Chukwu then instructed her own children to begin a prayer session which they did, shouting on top of their voices. Continue…
Trouble however started when the boy’s mother who stays four buildings from Mrs Chukwu raised alarm after she could not find her son. A search for the young boy began which Mrs Chukwu also partook in. Minutes into the search, Mrs Chukwu was said to have excused herself, went into her house and then came out with a box on her head, saying she was travelling. Suspecting foul play, some of the area boys instructed her to put down the suitcase which was opened and the unconscious body of the 7 year old boy was discovered. Continue....

A resident of the area, Oyetoye Gbemi who spoke with Vanguard said the area boys descended on her and she confessed it was her pastor who sent her
“She told us she was travelling to the village. But one of the area boys who was among the search party, ordered his colleagues to search the box. Immediately she heard that, she flung the box away and took to her heels. We all suspected something was amiss. When the box was opened, Emmanuel was found inside, half dead. The area boys descended on her and stripped her naked. On interrogation, she said her pastor, the General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy, asked her to bring the boy. The area boys followed her to 319, Lagos Road, Ikorodu, where the church is situated, where they saw her pastor waiting for her. But on sighting the crowd, he took to his heels. But for the arrival of Policemen from Owutu division, the woman would have been lynched. The angry mob also attempted to set the church ablaze but were also prevented by the policemen. They, however, succeeded in torching some parts of the property.” he said
In the process of chasing the fleeing Pastor and burning some part of the church building, area boys forced open a door to a building at 7, Oshodi Street, which was directly at the back of the church building and owned by Pastor Ernest. To everyone’s amazement, men and women, eight in number, chained and looking frail were found in the building. The captives upon interrogation said they were kidnapped from various places like Ogun, Anambra, Bayelsa and Oyo states. One of the captives, a 50 year old woman said she was kidnapped while returning from a night vigil. One of the rescued victim, 52 year old man pictured above without a shirt said he was a commercial bus driver and was kidnapped two years ago.
Residents in the area said the building owned by the pastor had always been under suspicion as no one ever saw anyone coming out or going in during the day. They said most of the activities carried out in the building is usually done at night.
Police sources confirmed the arrest of Mrs Chukwu while her pastor is currently on the run.

ARROGANCE – WIZKID Wizkid, from what we know, he came from a middle class family but he acts like he’s been living the life of gold already. He’s been making dumb comments to his fans who made him. He once said “when broke people think they have a say” to a fan who inquired about his next album. These same fans made him and just like a typical African star, arrogance will surely kill him. We’ve heard bad rumors about the kid star concerning his fans.


PLANLESS – WIZKID Wizkid is just following the footsteps of D’Banj who rose to the sky and dropped like God kicked him back to earth. He is rushing for international fame just typical of most African musicians thinking that is the way to heaven. Truth is, you need to conquer your world first. Currently Davido is popular all over Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Zimbabwe and his home country, Nigeria. He seems to have a plan, trying to conquer his continent before moving to the world. Wizkid is forgetting that the foreign world doesn’t have anything for him. All his crap lyrics “lelelele and yaaga” and things won’t make the cut. If I was him, I would learn a lot from D’Banj’s failure. Even Kanye West couldn’t help D’Banj, what more can a douchebag like Chris Brown and Justin Bieber do for you as an African artiste? WIZKID – ACTS


LIKE HE’S MADE IT Davido is a son of a billionaire, if not, a millionaire and he’s been probably living a lavish life since childhood but he has defied that fact and trying his best to join his dad. Davido makes a whopping $50,000 per show and has made his own money, unlike Wizkid, he goes to instagram and twitter just to act like he’s a millionaire already when I’m perfectly sure he’s far from that. We are not surprised, poor people always want to be something they are not. No doubt, Wizkid has made it but even Mike Tyson who was once worth 300 million dollars plus is now broke how much more a musician from Africa who is not worth a million dollars SMH!


DAVIDO – MADE IT ON HIS OWN (VERSATILE) Davido started it all off with his “HKN Gang” unlike Wizkid, he came through Banky W who made sure the world knows about Wizkid’s talents. Just like most of our African artistes, he felt cheated and decided to form his own StarBoi label and even planned to leave Banky W’s label. Greediness You tell us?


WIZKID IS JUST LUCKY, DAVIDO IS THE BUSINESS If you listen to Wizkid’s songs very well, his songs lacks substance, it’s the same usual “one word chorus” like Ginger, The Matter, Caro but Davido spans through all the genres from Highlife, Dance, Afrobeats like Skelewu, Aye, Gobe, One Of A Time and more hits in his short time of being in the industry. Davido also take advantage of all artistes (both underground and made artistes in different countries) and work with them unlike Wizkid, even if you invite him, he would have to like your product first before he feature on it. Davido immediately shot another video to his hit song “Skelewu” after fans complained about it, if it was Wizkid, he would have insulted the fans. Davido has songs with Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Diamond, Mafikizolo and counting. Not forgetting most of Wizkid’s hit songs were freestyles and unplanned.
