The board said, “The adoption of the score standardisation is a technical procedure for transforming candidates’ raw scores in the different subjects taken by each candidate to a common scale with uniform metric or units, which is the globally accepted procedure. “The general public hardly understands nor appreciates why scores should be transformed and this has been generating controversies and throwing up all sorts of unfounded arguments. It is to be noted that some poorly educated professionals consider the transformation of scores as an arbitrary allocation of unmerited scores. “The issue has been compounded by candidates whose scores of zero were transformed alongside other candidates’ scores of above zero. Transformation is generally across board and was not focused on individual candidates." The board noted that apart from Oloyede, the panel of experts, which brainstormed on score standardisation, comprised Prof Boniface Nworgu, Prof Raheem Lawal, Prof Muhammad Yakasai and Dr Omokunmi Popoola. JAMB Adopts A New Policy That Eliminates Chances of Candidates Scoring Zero in UTME The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has disclosed that the policy of score standardisation has been adopted for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. According to JAMB with this policy, Candidates who register for the UTME cannot score zero, even if they are absent from the examination. Similarly, candidates who did not attempt any question or who did not get any answer correctly were also captured under the policy and would be awarded a “common scale with uniform metric.” |
An average student who study past questions and CBT would get 80% of those questions that have been posted correctly. I am a Biology and Chemistry Teacher so I know what I am saying. Did I just read that you would extract the candidate questions. O ga ooo |

Candidates Should Locate Their Centres Before Exam Day One thing you wouldn't like to happen on your exam day is being unable to locate your exam centre or arriving very late to the exam centre because you have been running around trying to locate it. For this reason, candidates taking part in the 2020 UTME are advised to locate their exam centres prior to the exam day as a crucial part of the exam preparation. Getting familiar with the directions to your centre will prevent panicking and stress on the exam day. Please ensure you print out your exam slip before March 14th. The JAMB Examination Slip is a detailed outline of your exam centre, subjects, and time of the exam. After re-printing your JAMB slip and seeing your centre, it is advisable to take a step further and locate your centre before the exam. Getting familiar with the directions to your centre will prevent panicking and stress on the exam day. Inform your parents about the centre so they can accompany you in locating it if need be. Find out about directions to your centre from reliable people. For a more techie solution, you can make use of google maps or any navigation software you're comfortable with. It is very important not to leave this task till the day of the exam to avoid stress, panicking and other negative emotions that can hinder your success in the exam. source: myschool |

JAMB's warning to Candidates and Institutions on using CAPS The Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) is an automated platform for all institutions to conduct their admissions. This system engenders transparency, accountability and inclusiveness devoid of human interference. Institutions are the major actors with the sole authority to recommend candidates for admission while the board supervises by ensuring that all candidates are fairly, equitably and transparently treated. Consequently, the conduct of admission by institutions on their portals is a flagrant abuse of CAPS which is the only credible avenue for institutions to conduct admissions. Any admission into First Degree, National Certificate of Education, National Diploma and National Innovative Diploma (Part-Time and Sandwich inclusive) not on the official letterhead of the board or outside CAPS is Null and Void and would not be condoned by JAMB. Institutions are to note that admitting candidates outside CAPS would jeopardise candidate's participation in the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation exercise or any job placement which requires the certification or endorsement of the board. |
