A mob stormed a prison in north eastern India, dragged away a man
accused of rape and beat him to death.
Several thousand people overpowered security at Dimapur Central
Prison in Nagaland on Thursday, said police constable Sunep Aier.
They stripped him naked, dragged him along the street with rope and
pelted him with stones.
The man had been arrested on suspicion of raping a local woman late
last month.

The horrific attack comes amid rising anger over the high rate of sexual
violence in India.
Several local groups blame the migrants for taking away their land and
jobs and have been protesting in recent weeks.
Earlier this week one of the Delhi bus rapists said his dead victim was
to blame for the rape because ‘decent girls don’t roam around at 9pm’

Mukesh Singh claims he was driving the bus when a 23-year-old
physiotherapy student was violated with metal bars as she travelled home
from the cinema with a male friend last year.
She suffered horrific internal injuries and died two weeks after the
attack that shook India and sparked a wave of protests.
But Singh has shocked people by saying ‘girls are far more responsible
for rape’ during an interview with the BBC as he awaits execution.
He said: ‘A decent girl won’t roam around at nine o’clock at night. A
girl is far more responsible for rape than a boy. Boys and girls are not
equal.
‘Housework and housekeeping is for girls, not roaming in discos and bars
at night doing wrong things, wearing wrong clothes.
‘About 20 per cent of girls are good.’

A 26-year-old man, Isaac Kadumbo, has been arrested
after he killed his 45-year-old married sugar mummy,
Brandina Bondera , when he could no longer withstand her
excessive sexual demands.
According to the police, Kadumbo, from a suburb of
Zimbabwe, hit the woman twice on the neck with an axe,
killing her instantly during an argument over her constant
demand for sex even after infecting him with a sexually
transmitted disease three times.
According to court documents, Kadumbo started having sex
with Bondera when her husband left to work in South
Africa.
High Court Judge Justice Garainesu Mawadze heard that
during the argument, Kadumbo took an ax and hit Bondera
twice on both sides of her neck.
After realizing that he killed his girlfriend, Kadumbo
attempted to commit suicide.
He informed his family of his intentions and locked himself
in his room, but was dissuaded from killing himself by his
family members.
When he finally opened the door, the family members
discovered the lifeless body of Bondera laying on the floor.
The matter was reported to the police, leading to his arrest.

Twenty-five-year-old Monday Maule has been accused of raping one Mrs. Chinyere Samuel, his neighbour’s wife, who is eight months pregnant and has four children.

Maule was said to have committed the act on Monday, February 23, 2015.

It was gathered that Mr. Samuel, Chinyere’s husband, was not always at home due to the nature of his job. Samuel, a Ghanaian by nationality works with a Chinese construction company and hardly returns home to his family.

Our correspondent learnt that Maule allegedly committed the act by sneaking into the couple’s apartment during the early hours of the day (5am) at Friends Colony Agungi, Lekki, Lagos.

It was learnt that Chinyere and her children were fast asleep and Maule seized the opportunity to overpower her.

Chinyere was said to have woken up to find Maule on her. She quickly raised the alarm and attracted other neighbours. The incident was said to have caused her emotional and physical damage.

Maule was on Wednesday arraigned before Mrs. O. M. Sanyo of the Lagos Magistrates’ Court, Tinubu, Lagos Island on one count of rape. The charge read, “That you, Monday Maule, on February 23, 2015, at Friends Colony, Agungi, Lekki, Lagos did unlawfully and forcefully have carnal knowledge of one Chinyere Samuel without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.”

Maule pleaded not guilty and was admitted to bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

The magistrate said the sureties must show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government and one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendant.

The matter was adjourned till Monday March 23, 2015, pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
