Politics / Obi Of Onitcha And Maltreatment by Bazamfare: 1:45pm On Dec 30, 2019
Look at how they are treating the Obi of Onitcha like one second class citizen, I expect him to be at the same front row as the Sultan of Sokoto and Ooni of Ife... but he was hiding behind like one drug peddler who might have defrauded Prince Charles at a certain point!!

I thought it was just a coincidence, but subsequent pictures show how nyamuri traditional rulers were made to stand in a queue like they were begging for food and water during the Biafra war

This is not fair and right for a tribe that developed Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Lagos etc!!

Please is this right?!?!

Politics / How We’ll Take Over Power In 2023 — PDP by Bazamfare: 8:09pm On Dec 28, 2019
Following its inability to upturn the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the February 23 Presidential election at the Supreme Court, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has vowed to do everything possible to win the 2023 Presidency.

This is even as the party said it will go the distance to ensure that events which culminated in its loss in 2019 are not allowed to happen again.

PDP’s statement of intent is coming against the backdrop of an unsolicited advice by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Jackson Ojo who recently called on the major opposition party to retain its Presidential ticket in the North in the next general election.

“I’m no longer in the PDP but I will advise them to retain the Presidential ticket in the North. A Northerner will succeed President Buhari because the South does not have what it takes to produce a President in 2023,” Ojo said in an interview with this correspondent recently.

A highly-placed member of the party’s National Executive Committee who confided in the Vanguard stressed the significance of keeping faith with the North, saying ” some broad-based consultations and meetings would hold to impress it on our members on why we would take this decision.”

He continued: “People who are not politically sensitive will tell you that it is too early to be discussing 2023. But even the ruling APC is not resting. They are already working on life post Buhari Presidency.

“The reasons we will not discuss zoning is that the choice of the North would be strategic. The PDP unlike the APC has a lot to do to turn the fortunes of this country around and a result, we must subordinate individual and group interest for the collective. This is all I can say for now.”

In a separate chat with the Vanguard, deputy national publicity secretary of the PDP, Diran Odeyemi said the party is determine to bounce back, adding that the PDP did not lose in 2019.

“Nigerians are aware of the shame that played out in the 2019 elections. We did not lose but I don’t want to dwell in the past because the apex court in the land has adjudicated on the matter.

” For now, we will keep our strategy close to our chest but permit me to say this: Zoning, for now, is not giving the PDP headache. Whichever zone we agree on, I can assure Nigerians that we will come up with the best candidate that will put an end to the eight years misrule of the APC.

He continued: “In the next three years, Nigerians will file out again to partake in a referendum on constitutionalism, hunger, rule of law and democracy. We are praying that in the next three years, they will repent of their wickedness and crass incompetence for the country to survive.

“Today, the so-called integrity is nowhere to be found. They are presiding over corruption and Nigerians are dying of hunger by the day. This party cannot simply continue because by 2023, Nigerians know the step to take to rectify all the wrongs since APC’s assumption of office in 2015.”

Should the party resolve to have a Presidential candidate of Northern extraction in 2023, the National Working Committee, NWC, may be faced with the difficult task of convincing the South to let go of its ambition in the interest of the party.

Politics / Ihiejerika: Stop Spewing Balderdash, Jonathan’s Sibling Warns IPOB Leader, Kanu by Bazamfare: 9:52pm On Dec 27, 2019
Soni Daniel
A sibling of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has taken the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to the cleaners over his claim that Northerners forced him to prematurely remove his Chief of Army Staff, Azubike Ihiejerika, from office so as to pave the way for Boko Haram to attack and destroy Nigeria.

Kanu, who is operating from exile after fleeing Nigeria in the wake of IPOB’s proscription by the Federal Government, also said on Friday that the North created Boko Haram as an instrument to frustrate the administration of both Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo.

But in a swift reaction, Dr Faith Robert, who is President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, described Kanu as a liar, who needs urgent help in order to cure his predicament.

Dr Robert in a statement sent to Vanguard in Abuja on Friday said Mr Kanu is not only a serial liar but someone with a wrong sense of history, who needs to urgently update his knowledge of history and current affairs so as not to confuse, misinform and mislead himself and others.

Robert pointed out that contrary to Kanu’s pedestrian and mundane fairytale, Jonathan appointed the former Chief of Army Staff, Azubike Ihiejerika, strictly on merit and did not do so because he was an Igbo man.

Robert said: “It is the figment of the imagination of Nnamdi Kanu that Goodluck Jonathan was forced to remove Gen. Ihiejerika from the post of Chief of Army Staff in 2014 by Northerners.

“For Kanu’s information, in case he did not know, Ihiejerika’s appointment as Chief of Army Staff was based purely on merit as was in the case of appointments of other service chiefs during Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure as President.

“It must be made known to Kanu and his ilk that Gen. Ihiejerika duly served out his tenure and retired at his terminal retirement age or service years under Nigeria’s extant laws. If you look at it, GEJ was not in the business of extending people’s retirement date. He believed that, given the opportunity, there are many other people who have the capacity to do the work. He believes in powerful working systems, not powerful men.

“For GEJ, Nigeria was his constituency and although Ihiejerika was Ibo, his tribe was not the primary motive of his appointment, as he always considers the national interest as his primary motive.

“It is my strong conviction that the said Nnamdi Kanu needs help in order to come out of his delusion and should be more circumspect on his utterances, which in most cases are in bad faith as they are capable of impacting negatively on well-meaning and hardworking Igbo people in the service of the nation.

“Mr Kanu should refresh his memory to enable him to remember that President Jonathan did not take over from Obasanjo but from Yar’Adua and that Boko Haram actually started during Yar’Adua’s time and not during Obasanjo’s tenure,” Jonathan’s cousin pointed out.

It will be recalled that Nnamdi Kanu had on Friday carpeted President Jonathan, accusing him of giving in to pressure from the north to remove Ihiejerika so as to weaken the fight against Boko Haram terrorists, which he described as the creation of the north.

Kanu claimed that while Obasanjo summoned the courage to deal with the leadership of Boko Haram before Jonathan took over, Jonathan had the opportunity of dealing with them but was deceived into removing Ihiejirika.

Lol.. just listen this fool!! And ur parents will think they have sent you to school!! I'm not surprised that since u were exposed as 5% in population, you have been desperately trying to attach urself by force with the SS to increase ur numbers, while bringing others down!!

There is nothing like kafanchan and southern Borno in the constitution, but Borno and Kaduna state.. all these places are governed by the overall laws and regulation governing the region, since its a majority hausa/fulani/Muslim states, we have the right to have an emir in every nook and cranny we feel like and there us nothing anybody can do about it!!

You can claim Muslims are merely 20% in the northfor all we care, but that won't change reality on ground!!! For those that get their information from RadioBiafra, I don't expect much
TooMuchStuff:

The north has never been one by consensus.
Even in the days of Ahmadu Bello, Emirs imposed on Benue communities were almost killed and chased away by Tiv and Idoma. Kafanchan is still in the throats of Fulanis as the Emir of jemaa is not an indigene but Sokoto imposed. Nearly all the Emirs of Southern Borno were imposed on predominantly Christian Communities

Saying that the north is mainly Hausafulanis Muslims is nothing but a scam. Big Scam.
Muslims are barely 50% of the entire North.

As usual, ur bloated ego, pride and delusion of graduer made you turn a blind eye to the atrocities committed by ur Kinsmen!! Your propensity to concoct and fabricate history to ur narrative is astonishing to say the least.. nyamuri flat.heads always have a way to absolve and exonerate themselves in the scheme of things leading to the civil war, I bet ur parents told you how northerners just woke up on the wrong side of the bed and started killing Ibo

Just like the massacre of ibos, you should not fail to balance the scale by narrating how mostly northern soldiers and family were annihilated in cold blood by Ibo soldiers, which eventually led to the civil war
JonDon12:

I don't want war but Nigeria as a whole is not a viable option. Let us not forget what caused the war in the first place. The massacre of the Ibos. This was a Biggest and bloodiest symptom of The main problem with Nigeria. Its unworkability and unfeasibility due to its structure. This manifested itself in the inability of the Nigerian government to protect its citizens from pogroms in 1967. This is the same problem we are having now. Boko Haram, Fulani herdsmen killings, Banditry, Buhari Tyranny and his unlawful disregard of the law.

NIgerians are suffering and still dying. There have been Fulani clashes in almost all of our 36 states in Nigeria. One estimate says that they kill over 5000 nigerians have died annually due to Fulani Herdsmen activities. SO although I believe War is horrible, In practice we are already at war

Check history, any northern politician that turned his back on Buhari is insignificant now!! Kwankwasso should have been patient and wait for 2023 in APC, but he got carried away by his kwankwassiya movement propaganda in thinking he can confront Buhari, forgetting that Buhari singlehandedly brought Shekarau out of no way and made him defeat kwankwasso in 2007

Buhari is a Demi God in the north, all those that worked against him are irrelevant now

Politics / $600m Steel Plant Will Be Nigeria’s Highest Non-oil FDI – Gupta by Bazamfare: 11:23pm On Dec 24, 2019
The managing director of African Industries Group, Mr Alok Gupta, yesterday, said the company’s $600million Integrated Steel Plant will be Nigeria’s highest non-oil Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) when it begins operation.

Mr Gupta said federal government’s plan to turn around its iron and steel sector will receive the desired boost with the establishment of the $600m Integrated Steel Plant in Kaduna State.

This is as the minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Olamilekan Adegbite, has assured that President Muhammadu Buhari will commission the phase I of the steel plant project which is sited in Tafa in Kagarko local government area of Kaduna.

“Hopefully, Mr President will be here to do the commissioning of the first phase of the project when the time comes.

“It is part of our mandate to encourage investment in mining and steel development which this group has started on; my visit here today is to encourage this investment and also to urge them to do this as quickly as possible to bring the obvious benefit, first to the community where it belongs.

“While we are there to moderate the expectations of the community, at the same time, we also encourage the investor to carry them along, benefiting in terms of employment, infrastructure including social infrastructure,” the minister said.

Affirming the minister’s position, the AIG managing director, Mr Alok Gupta, said,

“We expect to commission the Phase I of the project by end December 2020. We will be mining 5.4 million tonnes of Iron Ore, beneficiate the ore to produce high grade concentrate, make it into pellets and finally into Directly Reduced Iron (DRI). The DRI will be used to make steel billets and will avoid our need to import the same.

“We are also building a 36 MW Power Plant from the waste heat recovered in the process, which will be partly used for captive consumption,” he said.

According to him, with the completion of first phase of project, there will be significant economic and industrial development in the area by means of creation of several allied industries and social infrastructure, while the surplus power generated will further assist in developing other industries and residences and will help in urbanisation of the local area.

Pledging the support of the government of Kaduna State for the project, the Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Muhammed Abdullahi, said the state will work hand in hand with the ministry to ensure that the reap the benefit that is to follow.

“The governor has asked me to assure you of our support to ensure that the people of Kaduna and the government of Nigeria benefit from the project which will provide us with the advantage of job creation, of saving foreign exchange and providing the industrial capabilities that steel holds for our economy,” he said.

The African Industries Group is a diversified Manufacturing Group involved in the manufacturing of various products including Steel.

It started its operations in Nigeria in 1971, employing over 8,000 people in their 18 manufacturing plants, according to the MD, and they are now the largest producer of steel in Nigeria having the lion share of the market with an annual production capacity of 1.2m tonnes of finished Steel Products.

Over the last six years, their subsidiary, African Natural Resources and Mines Ltd (ANRML) has also recorded breakthroughs in Resource Estimate, feasibility studies from various consultants around the world as well as Environmental and Social Impact Assessment based on both the Nigerian and IFC performance standards.
