A commercial motorcyclist died after he was swept away by flood following a heavy downpouron Mondaymorning, July 3, in Ado Ekiti. Goodwill, who posted the photo wrote:
"It saddens my heart seeing this unfortunate & ugly incident happening in my beloved State. This young dude was a victim of the heavy downpour that occurred in Ado Ekiti yesterday. His lifeless body was later found behind Pathfinder Hotel, Iworoko road, Ado Ekiti. Ekiti State. May God continually bestow His protection and mercy upon us. Amen"
According to eyewitness reports, the deceased was said to have braved the fast-flowing water but lost control in the Elemi Channel at Ayewa garage area of Adebayo.

The victim had ignored warnings and pleas by motorists and other commercial motorcyclists, who had earlier failed in their attempt to cross the channel, and had decided to wait for the water to recede.
The witnesses also alleged that the okada rider had two passengers, but that they had chosen not to go with him in spite of his insistence that he knew how best to wade through the water.
It was gathered that the onlookers were helpless when he lost control, and that they had watched helplessly from afar as he was overwhelmed by the flood.
The body has been deposited at a mortuary.

Nigerians have reacted with outrage over president Buhari's voice message to Nigerians which was not in English,but Hausa.
Reacting to the voice message in his Twitter handle, former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-kayode, said it was not President Buhari that spoke in the Sallah audio recording, and that it was an insult to Nigerians for the President to have spoken in Hausa language.He said

“It was not @MBuhari that spoke in today’s Sallah day audio recording. And for whoever it was to address the nation in Hausa is insulting.’

Also, Reno Omokri, ‏said:

Popular actress, Mercy Johnson caused a stir recently when she twerked while hosting a Glo Mega concert, in Anambra State. The video of the event went viral and while many of her fans commended her dancing skills, some argued that she shouldn’t have done that considering her status as a married woman.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, she defended her action. She said,

First heard of the seemingly disabled guy Aondofa popularly known as “Big dreams”,a shoe maker through the enigmatic Rev. Abel Uloko of the House on the Rock church in Makurdi.
Though crippled from childhood, the guy never allowed that shatter his dreams of being a maker of what he doesn’t even necessarily need(shoes).
He got the opportunity to showcase his products to a large crowd of over a thousand people at the ESLF organized 1st Benue Youth Entrepreneurship Summit.
The Governor of Benue State Hon Samuel Ortom and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Benson Abounu as well as the Honorable Minister of agriculture, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Audu Ogbeh endorsed his products and bought some for personal use.
Rev. Abel Uloko had earlier on in the month taken some of his products to far away USA where it is said to have got some requests for supply already.
Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom who is the convener of the summit and the founder of the Eunice Spring of Life Foundation promised to do her bit in making sure his business is improved to a reasonable standard.
