Health › Re: Nigeria Retains WHO Maturity Level 3 Status For Medicines & Vaccines Regulation by bdon123(m): 4:29am On Aug 10, 2025 |
Dpharmacist: The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has once again put Nigeria on the global health map!
The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially confirmed that Nigeria has maintained its Maturity Level 3 (ML3) status for the regulation of medicines and vaccines as of June 30, 2025. This achievement cements Nigeria’s place as the first and only National Regulatory Authority in Africa to reach and sustain this standard.
What Does “Maturity Level 3” Mean?
Maturity Level 3 is awarded by WHO to countries whose medicine and vaccine regulation systems are:
Stable — able to function effectively regardless of political or economic changes
Well-functioning — meeting international standards for quality, safety, and efficacy
Integrated — covering all aspects from drug approval to market surveillance
Simply put, it means Nigeria’s drug regulatory framework is trusted at a global level.
How We Got Here
November 25–29, 2024: WHO conducted a formal re-benchmarking exercise in Abuja and Lagos.
Feb–May 2025: Five follow-up institutional development plan meetings were held to assess progress.
June 30, 2025: WHO confirmed Nigeria had successfully implemented all key recommendations.
Why This is a Big Deal
1. Public Health Protection Stronger defense against fake, substandard, or unsafe medicines entering the market.
2. Investor Confidence Pharmaceutical companies and investors see Nigeria as a stable and credible market for medicine production and distribution.
3. Global Recognition This places Nigeria alongside countries with advanced regulatory systems, boosting our reputation in health governance.
4. Leadership in Africa Other African nations may look to Nigeria as a model for building their own regulatory frameworks.
The People Behind the Success
Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye (NAFDAC DG) credited this milestone to the commitment, expertise, and resilience of NAFDAC’s staff nationwide. Their work has positioned Nigeria as a model for regulatory excellence on the continent.
What’s Next?
While Maturity Level 3 is a huge achievement, the ultimate goal is Maturity Level 4 — the highest standard, which means a fully integrated regulatory system recognized as a reference point globally.
NAFDAC says it remains committed to:
Continuous improvement of regulatory standards
Safeguarding public health
Strengthening Nigeria’s role in the global health landscape
💬 What do you think? Is Nigeria ready to push for Maturity Level 4? And how can this achievement translate to real improvements in the everyday healthcare experience of Nigerians? Nonsense n fake drugs n food product full everywhere?can u buy fake sardine in south africa ? Or fake drugs frm a pharmacy?this is Nonsense |

Validated: Jonathan should not fall for the gimmicks of Tinubu and Wike. Peter Obi will not even listen to them. All PDP structures have collapsed into ADC, Who will fund the elections?
Jonathan had his time and blew it by not fighting. Buhari never won in 2015, but GEJ chickened out of power. KKK states results were doctored. After 2015, how many times did Kano poll 2.0m votes again? In 2019, the same Buhari only got 1.5m, which means 500k voters did not vote or were dead within the period, despite that new voters were registered? He didnt chicken out by not fighting....he was a president who didnt hav balls to keep his cabinet on check. His ministers behaved anyhow n patience had power than even him in politics. He was voted out simple. |

Travel › Re: Why Everyone In Lagos Is Always In A Hurry — And Where They’re Rushing To by bdon123(m): 10:20am On Aug 08, 2025 |
AngelSlay: You’re absolutely right — landing in Lagos for the first time can feel like stepping into an entirely different universe compared to the rest of Nigeria. The pace, the pressure, the wahala — it’s on a different level.
If you’ve lived in calmer places like Abuja, Port Harcourt, or even Ibadan, you’re probably used to wider roads, more organized layouts, and a certain quietness that Lagos doesn’t have time for. The second you hit Lagos, it’s like the city grabs you by the collar and says, “Wake up! No time for dulling here.”
People in Lagos hustle like their lives depend on it — and for many, it actually does. There’s this energy in the air, a kind of organized chaos where everyone seems to understand the rhythm except the newcomer. Danfo buses cutting across lanes like they own the road, conductors shouting destinations like they’re selling their last product, and somehow, everyone is always in a rush — even when they have nowhere to go.
And the pressure? Lagos doesn’t wait for anyone. Whether it’s the traffic that turns a 10-minute trip into a 2-hour journey, or the cost of basic living, or even just trying to catch your breath without someone honking behind you — it’s a daily test of patience and survival. People dey suffer, no doubt.
But despite all that, Lagosians just dey survive. With all the madness, they still show up, still push forward, and somehow still find time to laugh, dance, and create. It’s wild.
So yeah, Lagos no be Nigeria — Lagos na Lagos. And until you experience it, words won’t do it justice. I was born n bred in lagos and immediately i went abroad n came back i relocated to abuja.Till today there is a sadness n some sort of discomfort that makes it impossible for me to spend more than 48hrs in Lagos. Am not even talking abt rainy season o...i mean dry season |

Pussy ive only seen before in porn flicks.. bro I saw it today, up close and scary, on the healthy big ass of a 28-year old girl.
I asked if i could slide my fingers in, she accepted and when I smelt that moist thing.. it was odourless

Politics › Re: Why Abike Dabiri-erewa Should Be Sacked Immediately by bdon123(m): 1:04pm On Aug 05, 2025 |
shortgun: Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the current Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has consistently demonstrated ethnic bias and a lack of professional discretion, these traits disqualify her from holding such a sensitive and nationally symbolic office.
Her most recent actions singling out Igbos in connection with crimes committed abroad not only breach diplomatic decorum but appear to be a deliberate attempt to scapegoat an entire ethnic group, with potentially dangerous consequences for innocent Nigerians living overseas.
Dabiri-Erewa has made it a pattern to highlight crimes allegedly committed by Nigerians of Igbo descent, while deliberately ignoring or downplaying similar offenses committed by other Nigerians, particularly those from her ethnic group.
For instance, in 2023 she publicly named and shamed Igbos in Dubai involved in gang-related violence. She failed to provide full details, ignored due process and used inflammatory language that branded entire communities abroad with guilt by association. Yet, in the same Dubai Nigeria’s most notorious internet fraudster Ramon Abbas, also known as "Hushpuppi" was arrested by the FBI. Abike Dabiri-Erewa did not highlight his Yoruba ethnicity or use the incident to generalize about his ethnic group. Instead, she issued an official statement through the Commission "urging the public to refrain from stigmatizing Nigerians in the diaspora and emphasizing that the actions of a few should not tarnish the reputation of the majority".
"That statement described the arrest of Ramoni Igbalode (“Hushpuppi”) as no justification for generalizing about all Nigerians abroad or using the case as a basis for ethnic stereotyping".
When drug traffickers of other ethnic backgrounds were arrested in Saudi Arabia or when Nigerians were caught for internet fraud and other crimes in Malaysia, India or Indonesia Dabiri-Erewa either remained silent or issued vague, diplomatic statements, without drawing any attention to their ethnic identity.
Anyone with basic education should know that if Igbos make up the largest population of Nigerians in a particular country, it is only natural that they would also be the highest in all statistics including crime, success, employment..e.t.c in that country.
If Abike Dabiri is not a bigot, she should publish the names and ethnicities of all Nigerians in Saudi Arabian prisons or London prisons.
This pattern of selective outrage betrays a deep-seated bias and worsens ethnic divisions both at home and abroad.
As a public official, Abike Dabiri-Erewa holds a position that demands neutrality, tact and a commitment to national unity. She is expected to defend the interests of all Nigerians in the diaspora not inflame tribal tensions or exploit her office to score political points.
What she has done is not merely embarrassing it is dangerous. Her rhetoric will provoke hate, social stigma and even physical attacks against innocent Igbo Nigerians abroad many of whom are law-abiding professionals, students and entrepreneurs.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa has demonstrated that she is unfit to represent Nigerians in the diaspora especially when a significant portion of them can no longer trust her to advocate on their behalf without tribal bias.
She should resign or be removed from office immediately. Her continued presence only deepens Nigeria’s fragile divisions and reinforces the double standards that have hindered the nation’s unity and progress for decades Actually, there are more criminal yorubas in uk prisons n that is becos uk no dey pay so igbos avoid there. |

Fiscus105: Read my comments and make sure you understand and stop following Dangote gragra, if Dangote Petro is profitable for the importers, they won't bypass him and go for foreign imports.
Have you for once asked urself, the gains, you as a citizen gaining from ban they place on cement importation? The skyrocketing gain the cement manufacturers are gaining, have they sent a penny to your account once? Did you know how much cement cost today and the amount it would be, if they lift ban? The same goes to rice importation before they partially lifted the ban.
Provided the Petrol importation is not substandard, let the competition continue. So how do u know d importation is not substandard?dangote is selling in europe as his fuel meets european standard.petrol importation n cement is not d same.cement has name so if u hav diff manufacturers u choose d one wit quality. Its not d same for fuel.u buy petrol at statuon without knowning source.Even d guy at d pump dont even know d source.i was once a petroleum inspector for discharge of petrol at apapa lagos n i can tell u they bring in cheap rejected petrol jst to make profit....so yes dangote was right on this. |
