On a more serious note, this isn’t a beauty contest. The Anambra State election is serious business. But those are random pics from her gallery right? Or are the her campaign pics? If it's the latter, then she deserves to be Akpabiorized! We are Africans with a rich cultural fashion. |

Jakumo: Wole Soyinka is a very youthful 90 year-old who still walks miles as a bush-fowl shotgunner on a regular basis. Without question, Wole Soyinka will outlive millions of fellow Nigerians who sport wobbly beer guts, and walk with a limp at 40. It would therefore be presumptuous to declare that the Trump tyranny will outlive Wole Soyinka, all things considered. Lakuka.. He can live a million years if he wants. But America will outlive him. His Dems are not coming back anytime soon. He has a lifetime to wait. |
Politics › Re: Wole Soyinka Reacts As U.S Revokes His Visa Permanently by BeardedMeat(m): 5:10pm On Oct 28, 2025 |
Jakumo: In the fullness of time after this dreadful anomaly called the Trump regime is dead and gone, Wole Soyinka will be approached by US government officials who will likely offer the Nobel Laureate a lifetime unlimited reentry visa, in recognition for Wole Soyinka's lifelong heroic stand against tyranny not only in Africa, but now also in the USA, the one-time bastion of electoral democracy now facing its greatest existential peril.
Wole Soyinka is an African literary icon whose creative influence transcends cultures and time-zones for a truly global reach. It is noteworthy that Wole Soyinka could have taken the path of least resistance, and kept quiet while he witnessed the evolving tyrannical tendencies of Donald Trump in America, but Wole Soyinka's indominable and immutable conscience got the better of him, forbade him to remain quiet, and caused him to relinquish forever his once-treasured American Green Card in protest over the unconstitutional ascent of King Trump in America.
Those who mock and revile Wole Soyinka with their usual online vituperations would not qualify for engagement as a gardening trainee manicuring the lush landscape of the professor's country estate, yet thanks to the anonymity of the internet, the usual crew of career clowns who always find fault in Wole Soyinka are free to wax lyrical in their capacity as inconsequential court-jesters.
God bless Nigeria. God bless The United States of America May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the bedroom tackle of Trump, his fellow Nazis, and all his cult followers. Yes, he will be approached post mortem. |

DomPerignon: Any coup now will see Nigeria disintegrate faster than a lightning bolt.
Nigeria of today is not Nigeria of Pre 1999.
The civilian political class in every state is well entrenched .
The populace is more restive and aware of their rights and won't give it away for an illegitimate military junta that did not give their consent to.
There must be consent by the populace to the government of the day to govern them.
And how is the military going to manage running a country like Nigeria today without widespread consent?
You must understand that past military juntas relied on consent to remain in power and always justified seizing power from fellow military juntas on the basis of lack of popularity of the ousted regime among the people.
There's no way we can have anything dictatorship today because that will require tearing up the constitution and drawing up Admiralty laws that are alien to civilian life.
Any coup will not only be disastrous to Nigeria's continued existence but to those who ochestrted it.
The guys in the military today are a total different breed from the cocaine sniffing rambo types of times gone.
The officers today just want to serve and cashout bigly and retire to politics or their businesses.
Why should they risk all that for a doomed coup that if successful will doom them? Omor! See shalaye oo |
