It is even more atrocious and disastrous To be silent while ‘spiritual’ manipulators and oppressors Rise in fierce wrath against the harmless and defenseless in the society, While we do nothing! It is therefore of essence and necessity, That we become abreast of the imminent drums of war, That had been sounding since the cry for BETTER LIFE In our nation Nigeria and among humanity worldwide! No doubt! There is a war coming! There is a battle coming! It is not the battle of the fittest! It is not the battle of the finest! Neither is it the battle of the strongest! THE NATIONAL TREASURES “The richest assets in Nigeria are truly Nigerians, But the greatest wasted resources in Nigeria, Are also Nigerians! ” I have come to realize that the most treasureable places Are often the most miserable and pitiable places That could provide abundant reliable opportunities, Tangible Potentials and formidable fortunes for its inhabitants…! Yet these treasureable places remain undesirable and unexplorable Without a reasonable fact of why it remain unexploitable For the profitability and Betterment of the masses called Nigerians. I even wonder why we merely survive in a nation such as this, When enormous, plenteous and precious resources Are loaded within us and underneath our feet! I still wonder why we allow our fellow Brethren to die in poverty like beggar When most of us are blessed and empowered enough To enrich and solve one another predicaments and misfortunes! I wonder why we value material things far above our fellow brethren Who are possessors of National treasures that are higher and far better Than any expensive gold and diamond in the world! And I wonder if we will ever come to the knowledge, understanding And reality of reaping our God-given natural and human resources Which are capable of enriching and beautifying our lives, For healthier, wealthier and Better living! These circumstances grieve my heart… It grieves my heart to see how treasures with great measures Are being suffocated, assaulted and brutally sacrificed On the altar of greediness, wickedness and foolishness! Within and outside our dear nation! Indeed, it is sickening and disheartening to see How multi-trillion Dollar treasures are left unexplored, untapped and wasted, While forfeiting our golden tomorrow for mere pleasures and peasant today Which lives and dies and fades like the Sun-rise and Sun-set of the day! It is even more pathetic and heart-breaking When Mr. Death easily snatched these potential National Treasures And wrapped them in the belly of his friend – Mr. Grave, Thereby bringing a total closure of the Treasure’s benefits and Profiting, While we just helplessly watch and do nothing! Hmmm! This sound like a nation being stripped and robbed of Her glorious Honour and Dignity! This sound like a nation’s boom heading for her doom! And these sounds like a nation with much food Yet her citizens are dying every day of starvation and destitution! What a sacrilege? What an abuse of privilege? This is unacceptable, This is unbearable This is unthinkable And this is despicable How come we desert our fellow citizens when they need us most? How dare we have the mind to debase fellow Nigerians to piece of rags? How come we invest so much in all kinds of national projects, And refuse to invest in the real project called the ‘Better Nigerian Project’? What a shame we had bought for ourselves? What a mockery we had earned for ourselves? For if we don’t respect ourselves, How do we expect other Nations to Respect us! If Nigerians refuse to value fellow Nigerians, Then we all as a Nation had lost value in the midst of international community! Therefore the truth is, if we don’t Treasure ourselves, No one, no Nation will ever treasure us! And we often seem to forget who we are and what we worth! This is our undoing and it had made us valueless and vulnerable… We must all come to this understanding that God has given us raw treasures, And it is our natural duty to cook them deliciously and sumptuously, So that we could be well fed So that our people could live well And be thankful of the Nation That is given to them by the King of Creation! Be that as it may, the onus rest on every Nigerian To make this our Beloved Nation to be heavenly-Nigeria And become the envy of other nations of the world. This is because the treasures to make Nigerians Healthier, Wealthier and Better Lies and lives within each and every Nigerian! For what we are looking for in Sokoto Are already loaded in our Shokoto! May the Almighty God grant every Nigerian the enablement To value fellow Nigerians within and outside Nigeria Thereby leading Nigeria to a wealthy and Powerful Nigeria! Long live Nigerians!
