First I would commend you guys for your great back-end job, judge like the suggestions above, You need to wok on your UI, Because that's the key factor.

Get a Good developer with a Good grasp of graphics and front-end development to help out with that.

Then make sure you do more in internet and mouth marketing.

So in conclusion, get a Good front-end developer and a creative internet marketer then you are Good to go first the main time.

I have to say the guy above said most of the things you need to do.

But to be honest, your forum does not look great on mobile.
If you are using a forum script, I advice you change it for a better one.

Or a better theme for the script you might be using. Or you can have someone develop a responsive forum script for you.
