babylawyr: Okay, so here we go. Lady G, Justwise, sheuk, et all. come and hear my story oo
Background: i was denied in 2013. I felt my circumstance has changed significantly, i have a better paying job. i have visited more countries. It has been three years since the denial. So i decided to try again, i reapplied last month and fixed the interview for today 7:15am.
Pre-Interview: i read the whole thread USA Visit Part 1 and 2. I repeat, i read Part 1 and 2, everything. I was reading only transcripts tho, every night when i get home i read and read and read. I read like i was going for a job interview, i prepared all my answers. I prayed too oo. i prayed and prayed and prayed, i did a 9 days Novena in church by myself ( i can share the Novena prayer if anyone is interested),
I remember a man saying he removed his shoes at the embassy and said a prayer. LOL. Well, i removed my shoes too. It was not my plan but after all the standing, queuing, walking up and down. My feet began to ache i wore heels and they were uncomfortable (but lovely). i sha stylishly removed them one leg at a time, used each feet to touch the floor for like one second, said a quick prayer and wore them back. LOL. (the things we do for visa)
Interview:
VO: Why are you going to the US. ME: im going on vacation, sightseeing and to see my sister.
VO: where are you going. Me: ****, Atlanta, Georgia
VO: Have you travelled before. Me: Yes i have, I have been to the UK, Istanbul, Dubai and Ghana.
VO: What do you do. ME: Im a lawyer, i work as a ******* in ********* (telecoms)
VO: How long have you worked there. ME: ** months. However, prior to that i worked in a law firm for 4 years and 2 months.
VO: Are you married ME: No, not yet
VO: Do you have any children ME: No, not yet *chuckles*
She types for like one minute (which felt like forever).
VO: Sorry, our systems are a bit slow today Me: No worries (heart in mouth. praying silently).
She brings out the white paper.
VO: Pick up your visa at ............ *white paper* (i was not listening anymore). I felt like break-dancing.
No documents checked, she didn't even flip through the passport to see my visas. Hence, my conclusion that the decision was made already.
Advise: 1. Ignore the touts totally. I saw some people rushing to get 'entrance slip/card' from them. Imagine! i was amazed. 2. Dress the role. As a lawyer, i wore a black dress. Also wear comfortable shoes. There is a lot of standing queuing and waiting. 3. Even though you upload your passport successfully on the portal, please go with your passport. They scan passports now to their system. 4. Pray pray pray pray pray. With God on your side, who can be against you?
Thank you to everyone who ever shared a transcript.
Also, reading from Part 1 to Part 2, i want to commend Lady G, FPL, Omobendel, seyewest, Tzetzefly, Justwise, i saw a lot of 'sharp practices' and 'not so honest advise/conversation' (for lack of a better word) going on in the initial part of Part 1 of the thread. The quality of advice has improved greatly and thank you for not condoning sharp practices, promoting honesty and sanitising the thread.
God bless. (drops mic)
Judging from ur testimony....sounds like lady in window 1 Lol.....sorry,shouldn't be saying ds though |

KaptainAfrika: I think you should have mentioned that you made a mistake, before the interview began or alternatively you could have called the embassy and mentioned the mistake you made. All the best in your next interview. Yes...you are right....I think that was d reason of the denial, cos she didn't bother to open the passport to check if I was saying the truth....Gods time will come |

Hello NL, I did my interview today and got denied, before I share my transcript,I want to let you all know dt a mistake was made during the filling of my DS-160 form..and the mistake is filling NO,instead of yes in the question that says have you traveled outside Nigeria before in the last five years... She paused and looked at me when I said ds....and later continued typing VO- do u have any kids Me-Nope VO-how long have u being working Me-4 years And this was when she said sorry,u are not eligible to a visa now,but i welcome you to reapply I just said thank you and jejely collected my passport. N:B- she didn't even looked at my passport to confirm the authenticity of my claim...and neither did she asked me for any documents... LadyGuinivere: Ties and irs strenght is weighed considering several factors; Marital status Job/salary Family dynamics Travel history And any other thing that can be personal to a personal that can bring you home. People get it wrong when they think that having one is a guarantee to getting a US visa and hence folks go aroung gumming stickers and fake visas. Everything is taken as a whole and weighed. I guess that's what Worry was trying to say. Cc: Ragolis Throw more light on family dynamics..plus honesty is good, but someone having family abroad..yet wanna go on Trip Werin he go tell VO Oya tell me my dear |

Smile4mee01: Guys Advice me,
My appointment is next month. i earn about 140k a month in a bank,i have a statement of account that reads like 6m as i am engaged in other businesses outside my job. I have also been to the UK once before.
Would my financial state be questioned? I am not also married.
Kindly advce For visiting visa, they don't ask for financial state....possible question about financial state is "how much do u earn" This is because they are not sure if the account statements is even authentic at the first place... This VOs are wise... |

dureth: just join the trends, will like to know much and the criteria to secure the visiting visa? and also like to know if the visiting can be later be converted to permanent visa or any other relevant visa to work and life07068420005 Permit me to answer your question sir, first thing first ...your English sef has denied you the right to using your visiting visa as permanent.....But if u choose to consider that, just know that you are now an "illegal immigrant" ..and will face the full weight of the law of the United states if caught...and also get ready to kiss your future visit to the US a permanent goodbye.. Sorry sir,if I sound harsh, but that's the truth and on the other hand,u visit and come back... Then earn their first forever I hope this suffice better.. |

amanonymous: Guys this is my opinion about what have noticd. 1. It is always better to have a 7am interview bcs the v.O wuld nt be tensed up yet. There re still gonna be more relaxed. 2. In most cases a woman is preferable, they aren't too harsh with words. N:B just my opinion pls I quite agree with u about the woman thing..but all in all,God first, cos even a woman can cause harm...if God says the VO who is gonna favor me is a man,so be it,then the time thing, the most thing is that when u have God with you, even if the VO belle dey turn am ...he /she will not have a choice but to issue a white paper...But as their criteria.TIES and PURPOSE is key And GOD comes first...Favor is inevitable with HIM My small opinion though |

[quote author=amanonymous post=50498758]Guy my form was properly filled. In my presence, everyone that went to that particular V.O was denied and secondly because I was asking questions dosent mean my ds160 wasn't well filled. 241b is based on strong ties. Travel history very important and also been single also is always a problem. Believe me I did a whole lot of research before I came to this thread. Most times even with all filled ds160 and the ties everything still lies with the. V.O. Believe me I didn't see anybody given a white paper I was looking all thru. But it's well[/quote Prayer is the key my brother....Pray for Gods favour next time,God is still in the business of answering prayers You might just be the only one he will approve...when God is by your side |

LadyGuinivere: In addition. This is my opinion @amanonymous . This isn't meant to rub salt in your injury but to guide you for the future. I never met you but you struck me as unprepared. You kept on asking questions that a lil preparation and research woulda answered you. I think at a point I got a bit snappy at u because of some questions. Then clearly your form was improperly filled and that made the vo already pissed. Presentation is key. Form filling is like 50 percent of the process. Me, if I'm evaluatiing data and I come across poorly filled forms I de vex. Now imagine a vo listening to plenty grammer all day. Next time, take time and read this thread. Be prepared. Good luck LadyG.....great one from you.. They say determination today leads to success tomorrow. We learn all day.. Prepare and pray for favour |

seyewest: I see no reason why you can't wait for like 3 months before your travel date and also since the agent did not work for free... call him and ask him for the necessary info I have already booked an appointment, is it a criteria that all applicants must follow the same toll of 3 months... No be plan your trip ni they talk |

Good people of NL, I greet you AL with great regard...please I need your advice on this issue... My DS-160 form was filled out, submitted and booked an appointment against next month, but the problem is that the agent filled NO in the place where am asked if I have traveled before in the last five years, and I already have a travel experience to Ghana and Dubai... My question is :how will I be able to convince the VO that I have travel experience and that it was just a blunder on the part of the agent.the hotel I will be staying is also my contact person, since I don't have anybody in the US Secondly: my date of arrival is 6 months away, cause that's when I will be having my annual leave....please how does that sounds.. Will the VO also request to see my statements of account? Please help me my people |

I found out that we didn't fill YES for d position where it asked if I have traveled within the last five years,I have a travel experience, but obviously it was a mistake.. My question is: how can i convince the VO that it was a blunder during the feeling of d form and that I have travel experience... Secondly: since I have my annual leave scheduled for may next year,I used my date of arrival for may too.. Will that sound nice in planning my trip.. Hoping to hear from u .... Thanks |
