Investment / Re: Are Viable X, Ceepass And Farm4me Scams? by bellau09: 6:53am On Jan 05, 2022
They haven't paid any matured investment since the end of September. Me, friends and family have millions that are supposed to have been paid by now. Lol
It's I'm the wallet, you can see it but good luck transferring it out. One story or the other. Now there's no story anymore. They've just gone radio silent. You send emails and get no reply. You message their whatsapp number and get no reply.
So, in my opinion I'd say it's a scam.
Very big scam. Invest at your own detriment.

I am not too familiar with this; but i believe if you can indicate that she will be coming for Omugwo and that it is part of your tradition that a lady that just give birth must have her mother looking after her for 3months.

I believe they read widely and should understand that some tribes in Nigeria (i know of East) have such tradition.
And i don't waNt to believe that their "Citizen requested for someone to visit them and they turned the APP down.

Those who has passed such hurdles will soon come online to guide you more.
Thanks for the reply. Really helpful

Apply for tourist Visa(subclass 600) not family sponsored. There is a place to indicate that she will be visiting family and that you'll be sponsoring her trip. PM me if you need help.

Cheers!

A. Yes you can get a work visa through two ways, either getting a job in Australia from Nigeria or through skilled migration process. There is no direct application for work visa.
B. No direct work visa... Refer to A
C. Yes... you can confirm authenticity of a visa using VEVO. Google would be very useful here.
D. No fixed prices, changes per season and per airline... Google will help.
E. No cost at the airport except taxi fare or bus fare.. not more than $60 if living too far from airport.
F. You are permitted to carry $10k and below cash. If more, you need to declare it. No rule about BTA, you can leave with $0, it is up to you.

You will benefit from reading this thread.

My question isnt really related to PR and all.
I am 7months pregnant and want to apply for a Visa for mumsy to come and stay like a month with me after the baby is born. I do not know how to go about this. Do we apply for regular tourist visa? Or family sponsored? We'll be paying for her trip so I'm confused.
Anyone with any experience/ideas/suggestions? I'm a PR married to australian citizen.
Thank you!

well, babe in igbo tradition ,ur divorced nt not married bt a catholic church can not support a divorce, cos its not a court of law,

people talking of blackmail, how will that be possible when ur abroad n his married her also

Go on and marry ur oyibo husband, even witches go bow for una

Your post made me laugh. Lol
But thanks a lot for your response. Lol.
My fiance knows I was previously married so I don't think he could blackmail me with that but to be on the safe side, I decided to post here and find out.

Was a notice given at any registry 21 days or more before the wedding?
Did you sign on a long piece of paper with Nigeria coat of arms (marriage certificate)?
Did you go back to the registry after the wedding....

If the answer is No, you are Not married in the eyes of the law..
But the only confusion is most orthodox churches usually follow the normal procedure before they wed anyone. Surprise a Catholic Church gave out that certificate.

We didn't do any of that oo.
There was no registry, no signing on a paper with the coat of arms, no notice that I know of. Nothing of the such...

Pentecostals equally get licenses.

My church back home got that license from the Corporate Affairs Commission with about 100k. Anybody with 4 "Directors", an address, and a phone number can get that license. It's like registering a Private Limited Company in Nigeria. With about N100k, you will get a CAC registration and copies of signed and FGN authenticated marriage certificate to be issued by the Clergy.

@OP, that document is not exactly a trusted marriage certificate. However, I'd advise you go ahead to get an annulment as recommended. Without it, you can go ahead with your marriage plans, but in order to avoid troubles in the future (especially from your ex- husband), I would advise you to take all necessary measures. A desperate ex can go to any length to blackmail an individual.

Thank you very much.
I'll look at how to get that started.

I have told you. Contact your church to ask what they did with your license and explain trad has been dissolved and no court was done. If they did not submit the license to the court house then you are free from the marriage. No record of a legal marriage exists for you. So you were not married.

Okay will do that. Thank you very much

Those records are not public in Nigeria. But they could be in the near future and you would have lied on your immigration document. Just make sure you follow the appropriate steps first.

Appropriate steps like? I don't want to have issues with this now or later on. But I sincerely don't know what to do at this point.

I've been researching this and people have different opinions about this that's why I decided to create a post and hear from people directly.
Part of the problem now is there a no chance of me coming to naija to file for anything and all that.
I really need to know especially if anyone has had a similar situation, are there records that could show that I was married by a priest? (Mainly for immigration check). Like public birth, marriage and death records or something of that nature...?

In the eye of the Church, you're still married, and the Church will never grant you divorce. However, you can pretend you have never been married and pray your husband never decide to spoil things for you.
By the way, what's the meaning of arranged marriage?

He's remarried so I don't see why he'll try to spoil things for me.
Arrange marriage: a marriage planned and agreed by the families or guardians of the couple concerned.

Thanks a lot for your reply

Contact the church you got married and confirm from them. You can also ask your ex what he has claimed on his own documents. Truth be told since there was no court then there is no real proof of marriage.

You need to contact the church because Orthodox churches can issue approved licenses that will be accepted by the courts. Do your research well.

I think he didn't remarry in the Catholic church. Plus we don't talk so I can't ask him. Though he also wanted the annulment and when I asked the lawyer he said there wasn't need cos we didn't have a court marriage (now I see he probably didn't know what he was talking about)
The church referred me to the archdiocese.
You've seen the marriage cert issued to us (is that the same as an approved license?)

Babe sorry to burst your bubble but you are VERY married.
Orthodox churches like the Catholic/Anglican/Methodist are recognised by law as having powers to conduct a marriage as they have licenses ....unlike most pentecostals that don't hence the insistence of the church that intending couples go to the registry.

I suggest you file for an annulment if the marriage wasn't consumated or a divorce. If you are abroad, the divorce process takes no more than 8wks especially if your ex spouse doesn't contest it

Thanks for your reply. How can I told for an annulment? With the church?
And can someone file on my behalf?

Family / Am I Still Married? by bellau09: 12:01pm On May 11, 2017
Hello house,
I got married in 2012 (arranged marriage). I had traditional and white wedding the same day.
Here's the issue, I left him about 3 months later and we had the traditional marriage annuled (the igbo way. My family returned all the things they brought when they married me and they returned the things my family gave me when I went to his house. In the presence of the elders)
Its over 4 years now and he's already remarried.
Now I left the country and I'm about to remarry and I'm a little confused (I'm marrying a foreigner now and immigration can be very thorough with their checks). Is church wedding legally binding?
We never went to a registry or anything like that but we had the Catholic white wedding. I don't have an annulment documentation and I contacted a lawyer after I left him and the lawyer said since we didn't have a court marriage there can't be a divorce. Now, my questions are:
1. Do I write that I've been married before? and if yes I need to provide documentation to show I'm divorced or it was annulled.
2. How can I check like marriage records to see if my name comes up as married?
I have attached a picture of the marriage certificate the church gave us.
Please family lawyers, I desperately need your help!!!
Thanks in advance.

Travel / Cambodia Visa Enquiry by bellau09: 11:13am On Oct 17, 2016
Please house, my hubby and I intend travelling to Cambodia for a short holiday.
It says on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_requirements_for_Nigerian_citizens
that it is visa on arrival for nigerian passport holders.
I have seen posts from 2014/2015 that says it's not.
Please I would really appreciate any help in this topic.
Is it visa free for nigerian passport holders?
Do we need a visa before we can fly?
How can we get the visa if it requires a visa?
What airport is advisable to arrive at? (I read about corrupt immigration officials at airports)

Any help on this will go a long way in helping us make proper decisions.
Thanks house for your anticipated response

P.s The first thread was closed and I don't know why.
Though someone posted something about Canada. But am asking about cambodia.

I have gone through this thread and it seems focused on student visas and pr but nothing on visiting visa.
I submitted my application on 10th May for visitors visa stream (subclass 600) and yet to get a reply. I do not even know if it's gotten to Pretoria. They did send me an email from tls the day I submitted saying it's been dispatched to Pretoria. After that email I've heard nada and it's almost a month. I've checked for the max processing duration but got nothing substantial.
What do y'all think I should do?
Please house, any and every help will be appreciated.

Bros, abeg how did you get your visa? Vietnam and Cambodia. Did you do the process yourself or paid an agent. The agent I asked was quoting huges sums. All I want is a week's break! What'd you advice?
iykbethany:
1. Cambodia is NOT VISA FREE for NIGERIAN passport holders, you will be DEPORTED right from the Phnom Pen International airport. Infact you cannot even leave Nigerian airports WITHOUT Cambodia visa in your hands. Please understand that Nigerian immigration officers and the airlines will not allow you to board WITHOUT VISA, I have been in this route many times and have seen it all. NOT EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET IS TRUE OR PRACTABLE. I have seen the Cambodian immigration deport Nigerians back to Nigeria once they land in Cambodia, sp please get your visa at hand before you leave Nigeria. If you finally get your visa you must keep between $700 to $1,000 Bribe for Cambodian immigration officers, once you land at their airport they will openly demand the money from you, they will start from $1,000 and the lowest they will accept is $600, they dont care whether you are tourist or business person. And if you refuse to comply you will be deported same day without reason. Bc of this many Nigerians now use the Siem Reap international airport also in Cambodia, the airport is smaller and not many big airlines fly there. the only advantage is that there is no wahala with immigration staff in this airport, if they ever demand money just give them 50$.

2. Dont let anyone deceive you, going to Cambodia to STUDY is BAD IDEA because their universities are the poorest in Asia. You better go to Thailand, India or Malaysia. All in all, Malaysia is best Asian country for study in my own opinion. The truth is, many Nigerians who claim they are going to Asia to study are actually going to HUSTLE. Hustling means anything from drugs to scam and what have you. I visit Vietnam and Cambodia quite often, i weep when i see our brothers there begging. Some lucky, some are not so lucky. Some go there with empty hands and make it through hard work, some tru bad things. In Vietnam many of our guys are doing ok with clothing business. Some of them now have factories in Vietnam where they made high quality clothes for export to Nigeria. So again, before you ,leave Nigeria for Asia be sure you know what you are putting yourself into. Remember that DRUGS is TOUCH AND DIE in ASIA? Remember there is NO JOB for West African citizens in the whole of South East Asia.

3. If you plan going to Cambodia to do drugs you will be caught, while I was in Cambodia last year they caught 4 Nigerians for the few months I spent there. Our brothers nor dey hear so no need to waste my time, i wish you best of luck.

4. Once you are in Cambodia you will love the place, it is not big like Nigeria but its peaceful, some of their citizens are as black as Nigerians and I wonder why they still call me AKMAN (Black man) since some Cambodia citizens are darker than Nigerians. Cambodia is one of the the few Asian countries that love and respect black people. While in Cambodia I was able to set up my company easily, was able to enter any government ministry without restrictions.

Cambodia is one of my best tourist destinations, I might create a thread for the wonderful times I spent in that country.

I'd appreciate any and all help rendered.
