I read the thread on the cost of servicing railway loan.
Even though I’m part of the people that enjoy the Lagos to ibadan route, I’ve always criticize it because it’s economically unintelligent.
But Nigeria government only cares about counting cheap scores.
I’ve always maintained that buying a new train carriage with AC and new engine to ply the earlier narrow train track is better… due to financial implications.

To those people saying it would’ve been better if they connect Lagos to SE.
First - they will 8 times the budget to that, where will they get such loan?
What can be done is say connect Rivers to Cross rivers or connect Delta to Anambra… 2 Neigboring States.I know you will come here to say you people have money, but trust me it will be as sad as Kano - Kaduna.
There is no 2 Eastern Nigeria state that could generate half the penny they are making on Lagos - Ibadan..... Even the Lagos - Ibadan happens to be total waste.
The concept of government officials embarking on this kind of project should be checked.
They only care about political ego not what's best for the country.
The former Eboyin Governor built Airport and stadium... This are example of waste... What's the essence of Airport in Eboyin? What that state needs is a airstrip that could be use to land plane once in blue moon.
Fayemi built Cargo airport in Ekiti... If any state in Nigeria can successfully run Cargo airport, it will be either Lagos or maybe Anambra.
Common airport can not be successful in Ekiti, even the Airport in Akure is 98% useless.
But because we keep cheering them out of sentiment makes them continue this kind of projects.
Even Ambode built a $72m bus park in Oshodi, head should roll for that nonsense.
We need to hold this people accountable based on what's needed... I can not be hungry then you're taking me to saloon for a haircut...

The problem you all are having is you think the rail service was developed for passengers only , the real revenue will be generated from cargo which they have begun services about a month ago ,what is needed is political will to enforce major cargo to be transported via rail inter state rather than trucks .

During the campaign early this year, there was a thriving online 'cottage industry' dedicated to clarifying and explaining Bola Tinubu's many, many malapropisms. The latest iteration of that regressive idea is the business of 'disclaimers', very much like the one you have above. BAT's handlers were very busy with retractions, denials, clarifications etc. during the campaign early this year. We have now moved beyond all that to open ended disclaimers and pointless rhetorical questions about the impossibility of fixing Nigeria's problems in 6 months.

I am not going to get into a debate over Bola Tinubu's failure to deliver what he promised during the campaign. My prior posts on other threads already take care of that. Your reference to the failed federal minister (Babatunde Fashola) and the failed VP (Yemi Osinbajo) is a distraction and adds no value to the discussion. First of all, they are not people of character and their actions and choices in office proves this beyond any reasonable doubt. If Buhari is universally regarded today as a hypocrite and a man with no integrity, then how can BRF and PYO get a pass? Second, what is your mission with this 'honest by association' narrative? Nigerians have been thoroughly disappointed so far by BAT's performance - the last thing we need right now is vacuous proclamations about the 'solid character' of BAT's proteges. It is not these proteges who are in charge of the Republic. Bola Tinubu is.

For argument's sake, let's assume these individuals you listed are solid men with character (although we all know they are not). Solid men appointed to high office by a 'shady' man know one thing: they must reform the bad system within which they plan to operate...or they will be corrupted by it.

Look around you. The so called solid men have been unable to do anything about the rot. The reason? They were never solid men to begin with.

People entered office In May and you want them to perform magic in 6 months to reform security and economy ? Just being logical would have made you make a better statement, meanwhile to prove you wrong, fashola did well in lagos after taking over from tinubu. Prof Osinbajo did his duties well as vp , are these not People with solid character who identify with BAT ?

It's a dicey situation but the president has the advantage. If sim is removed and the ijaws start attacking oil facilities that would affect the country economy more and his government. On the other hand the president can call wike to order or simply throw him under the bus( sack him) while he gets sim promise to work for his 2027 bid.

There is a 3rd angle a lot of people are not seeing , if the unrest is much the president will simply declare a state of emergency and install an administrator for the next 3 years in rivers .

The only card available to Wike is the supreme court judgement for rivers election.

Pulling that lever favors Tinubu who will have Rivers as a full APC state cos Tonye Cole of APC can then be sworn in.

You are getting it wrong , the volume of fuel used daily has dropped by over 30 percent so even if as you claim the subsidy paid now is 500 it still won't be up to what buhari was paying , I don't think you guys fully understand that Nigeria can't sustain outrageous payments of subsidy for another 6 months, if the subsidy amount is as high as you claim the govt would react, they won't have the capacity to carry it through.

No , someone gave you that name and it has stuck as your traditional name , it means the person who named you and it stuck had a higher ability or authority than you , same way Portuguese came and renamed eko to lagos and it has stuck.
