If we are to be honest with how we have practised democracy since 1999, it should rotate not to the SW, not to the SS but the SE. You can say all you want, that's just the truth. I would have loved stiff competition from the SE but it's obvious who has the people's currency at the moment.

Now, when you listen to arguments from Atikulates, they are saying the calculations are not correct. That Jonathan used 2 years of Yar'Adua and that rotation does not matter. They are forgetting something. After 8 years of Buhari, it's not a popular opinion in Southern Nigeria that power should return to the North now. If ADC is not careful and they make a mistake, power will remain with Tinubu and they will make a critical mistake PDP made, part of which Atiku and Amaechi were part of in 2014-15.

Atiku is still living the trauma of never winning the Presidency. Old people have the baggage of what they could not do during their youth and we have seen this with Buhari, Obasanjo and now Tinubu. Tinubu went one step further to change our national anthem to the old. Buhari entered and first thing on his mind was Dasuki. Atiku will most likely delegate the work to others and will not be hands-on like Tinubu because of his age. But someone also has to tell Atiku that the world has moved on...

The greatest mistake Nigerian political parties made was to let governors, politicians sponsor the party. If they all contributed their share to the party like PLCs, moneybags won't control greedy party faithfuls by buying them at the primaries. APC, PDP, it's all the same. Your president or governor should never be the leader just because they got into an elective post of 4/8 years. Zuma was behaving anyhow in South Africa and ANC cut his wings. They brought him back to earth.

In a parallel development, another faction conducted a separate congress at the party secretariat in the Itoko area of Abeokuta under the supervision of national officer, Rasheed Salvador. The congress returned Dr. Femi Soluade as the substantive state chairman.
Other officials elected at the congress include Prince Babatunde Adedeji as Deputy State Chairman and Hon. Agbebiyi Olusoji as State Secretary, alongside members of the State Executive Committee. The State Legal Adviser, Femi Aina, affirmed that the exercise complied with party regulations and upheld due process.
The Soluade-led faction, however, distanced itself from the congress held at the OOPL, describing it as unauthorised and lacking legitimacy.
The parallel congresses underscore deepening divisions within the Ogun ADC, raising concerns over the party’s cohesion as political realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A northerner on X has reacted to a popular northern influencer on X known as Sarki who stated he would be going on exile should Peter Obi win 2027 presidential election.

Reacting, the user noted that they would cut the legs of anybody that comes to campaign for Tinubu in the north since Sunday Igboho said nobody will campaign for a northerner in the Southwest.
