I stumbled on this Google play based application early this month-
ESET® Parental Control for Android. God so good i was allowed to use the application for 30days as trial, but after trying it for 10 days and i saw how useful and timely the features were both for me and my children, i had to pay for their 1 year license. Am not really good at describing things, typing is even one of my most procrastinated task if there is any expression like that , but, the illicit and immoral exposure that comes from the world of internet through mobile phones or devices to our innocent children will not allow me to rest without telling every parent how to control and monitor the activities of their wards on the internet using this application.

From experience and the rate at which our children are growing in knowledge, you will agree with me that they understand the use of mobile phones/tablets and also have more time to play with it than we do.

Likewise, the wealth of knowledge that resides online and other good benefits of mobile phones/tablets will also not make any parent to want to deprive their children from using them.

Late last year i was playing killer bean on my son's phone(11years old), suddenly, we saw a nude image popup with a blinking content that says 'Play with me'. i immediately closed it but then it occurred to me that this could have happened in my absence because i will not always be with him while he uses his phone.

There was also a scenario that happened sometimes ago, i have two children, the male is 11 while the female will be 9 later this year. they were suppose to resume school the second morning so we asked them to go to bed, after 2 hours i asked their mum to check on them, to her greatest surprise they were using my tablet hotspot to stream a movie called 'Big Hero' and were watching it on their tablet. meanwhile i had to switch off the house WI-fi because of them thinking that nothing would disturb their sleep.

In reality there is no such thing that is absolute, but this app gave me access to remotely (internet and preloaded instructions) monitor and control what they do on there mobile devices. let me rate it 80%.

In fact i now decide the number of hours they can use to play games or watch movies, they too can contact me to make request for any application on their phone that they want me to unlock. The app also allows me to know their location in real time and i can also remotely lock their screen from anywhere.

Finally, this application only allows content that falls within their age range to be displayed, even if they visit a site that is not suitable for that age it will still be blocked and then alert me. it also allow me to restrict them from visiting some websites.

I used my 1 year license for 2 children but according to their care service, i was made to know that 1 license covers five children

After serious research on the best way to define Computer Virus, I realized that one of the most appropriate description was the one i found on Wikipedia “computer virus is a malware program that, when executed, replicates by inserting copies of itself (possibly modified) into other computer programs, data files, or the boot sector of the hard drive; when this replication succeeds, the affected areas are then said to be "infected". Viruses often perform some type of harmful activity on infected hosts, such as stealing hard disk space or CPU time, accessing private information, corrupting data, displaying political or humorous messages on the user's screen, spamming their contacts, logging their keystrokes, or even rendering the computer useless. However, not all viruses carry a destructive payload or attempt to hide themselves—the defining characteristic of viruses is that they are self-replicating computer programs which install themselves without user consent’’.
Hmm, even with all these scary features of computer Virus, I still do not use Antivirus on my Laptop and Desktop and I have never had any course to try to install one. "

I didn’t use Antivirus (AV) because I felt windows already has its inbuilt security platform and I don’t want any software that will always consume my Data couple with other irrelevant reasons…..Do you think its ignorance?.

What I control is my activities and how I interact with the Internet. But it still does not come without system restore on few occasion and not accepting USB. Presently my computer runs Windows 8.1, as secure an operating system as Microsoft has ever released. In addition to its built-in firewall, the OS offers anti-virus protection in the form of Defender (formerly the standalone Security Essentials), plus SmartScreen for protection from malware and phishing scams.
In recent times, the news of virus attack (Spyware, unwanted AD, Malware, Phishing and even the one I read about recently –Ransomeware) is so much that I had to tell myself that there is need for me to get an antivirus ASAP so as not to fall victim with respect to what I use my PC to do.

The puzzle is now how to know the best Antivirus software and how to get the paid version because anything free with respect to software is always a problem.

I have read so many articles on different antivirus, but I felt experience is the best teacher, then, the need for me to ask the technophiles on Nairaland the type of Antivirus they would recommend and why it’s preferred over others.

Nice one, if you really want to flaunt your unlimited access of internet then you need good security software, try Eset antivirus, i downloaded it and paid a token of 2.5k for a year. it updates and scan all scannables seamlessly i.e zero effect on the speed and performance of my Laptop and phone. www.eset.com/ng .though there are few other good and licensed antivirus available for download. the choice is yours, just that its better to make use of licensed antivirus than the free ones.

i use E6, at first it get hotter than anythin electronic, i took my time to study it, i even took it to nokia store for repair but i discovrd they dont kn whats wrong with it, then i took all these steps and my E6 work well and dosnt get hot excessivly.
Download battery lite from ovi store(15 days trial)
durin the day adjust by pickin the option batry max, and batry improve at night. U can customise what runs on ur phone with this app.
E6 is an internet phone, dont accept direct internt acess to some of ur app.e.g CNN, Ajazera etc.
If is hot usin a sim try other network, stick to ovi store for ur app, dont try to upgrade to symbian belle except u kn ow to do so, nokia has not lunchd its own version of the upgrade for E6. Finally, the mobile security that came with the phone is the best security for the phone, just activate it(wit d anti theft) and enjoy for free for 3months. Netquin is also good but trust me i av tried the 2 on E6.
