I really must commend Dollarnaira for his selfless service and support. You are such an excellent person.

Reached out to him and he called and interceded on my behalf. Gave me guidelines and put me through the ropes. Thank you so very much.

To Willmaria14, sorry for the stress and thank you too.

This might be a faceless forum but it has a lot of excellent resources and wonderful people.

Such is life.

Like i said it depends on our appliances but sincerely, y not go for 900va pure sine wave of luminous inverter. It cost about 50k or less for u to v rest of mind. I installed it few days ago for my client. You can get a stand alone aka off grid to save cost while d suoer or famicare do d Charging.

Your smart tv is too precious to run on msw inverter. My tv is a regular led tv. You will damage dat tv soonest. Stand fans of about 50w saves alot of energy. As for me i dont like running ceiling fans on inverters.

See eh! This lack of full information is what these marketers exploit on this thread. The famicare was presented as a psw inverter, even though I went to Jumia to read the description and I noted to the seller that it says transformerless. Like I said I highly blame myself for not doing due diligence enough and for being so trusting. As it is now, in just a few hours of use I am already having issues. Pls I will reach out to you. Thank you

Lolz, e be like say ur inverter guy name na Kazeem grin
Well back to business, the capacity of ur souer is bigger than the famicare, but famicare is a better inverter than souer; they may both be modified sine wave but famicare is cleaner than souer, infact famicare is almost on the same league with mercury.

So if I were to advise you, I'll tell u that famicare is a better devil than souer, souer is a no no for me.

My 2 kobo, let others make their input...

Thanks sir. My electrician na one kain guy. At the end of the day he still took away the souer that is faulty which he earlier said cannot be fixed. I truly wanted a pure sine wave inverter. I guess I didn't do my due diligence enough.

I will just hold on and save up to buy a bigger set up when the time comes. For now, let me manage this hehe and count my loss. It is just to stand in the gap for when PHCN fails.

In fact what is good for one person is bad for another based on usage and results. I use suoer with all gladness bc it is drains little power. Fine ,both famicare and suoer are both modified sine wave but in reality suoer works for my tv, lightings, woofer ( without humming sound). Humming sound even reduced drastically (with coloured bulbs) when someone here said souer inverters hate loose connection which was right afterwards bc I tested and confirmed it. I used famicare 1kva for few weeks and I see no difference in both.

In terms of size

Most inverters in terms of size are not complete. Buy any oil of say 5L, measure it and u wud discovered that it will not be exactly 5L. Same goes to most things with "sizes" e.g a 1kva(1000w) inverter may probably be 700w while a 2kva(2000w) may likely be 1700w(i.e 1.7kva).

Back to the burnt part

Probably you overloaded your inverter thinking it was a true 1kva or 2kva. I v a permanent saying that, "never load ur inverter above half its capacity".

Note dat modified sine wave is not good for coil based appliances e.g fans, blenders, microwave, oven etc

Lastly
•Tell us what u were using before your inverter got burnt.

•Does ur burnt inverter charges?

• Do u at times use ur inverter while charging it?

Whether psw or msw it is not a full alternative to phcn so we all should pamper our inverters like egg dont plug everything with plug in dem

Many thanks sir. The inverter I believe got burnt from the generator. The generator had a faulty Avr and the current was too high. It was put on and it blew everything in the house including WiFi charger and phone chargers. It was later in discovered the souer inverter wasn't charging again.
The electrician said it couldn't be fixed so I got a famicare. My smart TV used to hum very badly with the souer that watching TV was a chore. With the famicare the humming sound is less although present. I used blender of 230 Watts occasionally with the inverter but used only TV, energy bulbs and a battery free rechargeable fan.

Are you saying it is not advisable to use ceiling fan on the inverter? My electrician said I can use ceiling fan as I have two 200amps battery.
I have spent too much on this set up, let me be petting it like egg as advised. Thank you.

Saint2ace, dollar naira, ceejay80s and other gurus in the house, I hail.
Pls I need your input.

I was using a souer 2000 watts inverter that got burnt. Someone recommended Famicare 1kva for me instead. Now, my installer that first got the souer for me said the Famicare is substandard and can't carry much load. Even said the Souer is a better and bigger inverter. Pls how true is this?

1.Hybrid inverters are inverter system that charges their batteries with both NEPA (national grid) and solar panels.
2. MPPT is an acronym for maximum power point tracking, its a type of solar charge controller.
3. 12v or 24v are all voltage of either the batteries or inverters, some inverters are just 12v and require 12v battery to work with while some are 24v n require 24v battery system. The more the voltage the better the stability of the system.
4. Lithium ion phosphate is d latest in terms of battery technology, its better than lead acid cos its dept of discharge can go as low as 10v while dropping your lead acid to anything less than 11v is detrimental to the battery.

Thanks for this. Learnt a lot here.

Lol...

In less than about 6 hours of using the charger on my Quanta, I am already seeing some improvements.

My 12v inverter has been unable to charge the battery beyond 13.0 for sometime now. The max it manages to do occasionally is 13.2. But I used the charger yesterday and it steadily climbed to 13.4.

We should be having nepa light all through today and I hope to charge it very well by tomorrow morning. I will observe and provide feedbacksb to the house

Meanwhile, I have 2 units for sale here.

How much is this?

I used gern to charge my inverter and it burnt it. I am looking to replace it with an extra battery.
Culture / Re: Basic Insights Of My Country Cameroon; With A Huge Nigerian Expatriate Community by Beninwitch: 5:14pm On Dec 16, 2020
grandlexuz:

The present exchange rate Naira to CFA is
1000 Naira= 1450 Frs CFA. (1N = 1.45CFA) Those who leave Cameroon to buy goods in Nigeria know 1450 frs CFA is worth more in Nigeria compared to Cameroon.

Police in Cameroon don't receive the 50 Naira bribe from drivers I see in Nollywood movies. LOL. 50 Naira equivalent has no value in Cameroon. You can't buy anything with that amount. If you gave a five years old kid 50 Naira he will just throw in the bin.

Our paper currency starts from 500 frs which is 350 N. Our highest denomination is 10000 frs which is 7150 N. Police only receive from 1000frs which is 715 N from drivers.

To let you know how much the Naira has depreciated over the years. In the year 2000, 1000Naira equals to 6000 CFA francs. Twenty years after 1000 Naira can only buy you 1450 Naira.

The exchange rate of a currency is not proportional to the stability of the currency nor the economy. Take the Ghanian cedis. It is more valued than the South African Rand. Doesn't mean the Ghanains are better off than SA. I would rather trade in Rand than Cedis.
The South African Rand is more valued than the Japanese Yen doesnt make SA is better than Japan.

You mentioned the English speaking countries in West Africa are doing better than the French. You are joking right? I wouldn't say Ghana is doing better than Ivory Coast nor is Gambia better than Senegal. Sierra Leone is in pieces. Liberia though never colonised is no better than Burkina Faso.

Thank you for the compliments on my writings.

When I visited in March 1000frs was worth 550 naira and the police demanded 2000frs at every security post on the road. It was terrible! Only a few understood we were academics and allowed us pass with our letter of invite.
But I did enjoy Kribii a tourist site. Quite expensive though but lovely. I would love to visit Cameroon again but only when the anger has dissolved and issues settled. I also visited Petite Terrace in Douala.
Douola was very hot and Bamenda very cold. Do you know even in the university of Douala, the students from Bamenda and Dchang were attacked? Their bus damaged? I guess the pain is still there.

But to me Nigeria remains a far better and more progressed country than Cameroon. The monopoly on business should be challenged for quicker development.

I must mention also that some Cameroonians are very good drinkers. They like their alcohol.

Quite interesting. I have visited Cameroon and it is a beautiful country. But as I was reading your bias showed through. Immediately, I knew you were Francophone.

Of course, as a visitor I don't know it all but I can say the Anglophones have been truly marginalized. There is a huge difference between Bamenda and Douola. I stayed in both cities. Bamenda hardly has electricity worsened by the curfew in place while Douola is bubbling as the seat of Francophone. I also noticed the Anglophones love Nigerians while the French speaking generally dislike and hate Nigerians. I passed through the war torn villages and it is sad to see towns and villages destroyed by the insurgents and the government.

Cameroon is blessed butt they can do better. Especially reduce their hostility to foreigners.

I survived a surgery! I thank God for good health. I have been having health issues but I didn't know it was worsening. My heart became enlarged, I almost got a stroke and breathing was difficult. My sleep apnea was severe too.

But I took advantage of office Hmo and ran tests to see how bad things were. I walked into the operating room and came out alive. That's my biggest win this year.

For about 5 years now I've been battling extreme tiredness . Asides that I sleep alot most especially at afternoons. At night, nonce I sleep around 11pm and not going to work the next day, I can wake up by 10am or 11 am.

During afternoon and night sleeps, the sleep is usually very deep (REM phase or whatever you medics call it, please correct me) and usually characterized by heavy dreams.

Even during work, I'll always take the risk to create some time to have a little sleep. I've been battling this for about 5 years now. What could be wrong.

Could be sleep apnea. Are you overweight? Do you snore heavily? Are your tonsils enlarged? See a Dr first and do a sleep analysis. There might be worse underlying conditions.

I think about 10k

So I need to address a false Mis conception generally that diabetes is expensive to maintain.

Yes drugs like glucophage can cost about 8k or so. Diamicron 4k...

But the best food actually are extremely affordable.

Until last year. I used to listen to that crappy statement that it is expensive crap.

I hired a cook and was blowing almost 200k monthly

Now I spend less than 30k monthly. 15k on food. 15k on fish. And add 8k on olive oil.

My most expensive food is roasted Titus fish.
I just came back from the market. The 2 bags of sweet potatoes cost me 2k. And this is me in city center. I will easily eat this dinner meal for next 3weeks. A crate of egg is 1k and that can take me up to 1 week. Beans. Is very affordable. Also I use olive oil.

You have to watch your blood pressure too.

Also the general hospital have great diabetic support doctors. That give excellent advise.

I think the real issue is whether you decide that you want to be hospitalized (by then it is becoming late as it could have affected organs like kidney ( which occurred in my mom case ) ) first or you want to deal with the ailment first

Many Thanks for the advice. You make everything sound doable. I just got a BP machine to manage and track mine. I don't want to add diabetics to it. My mother suffers from the twin evil.
