Ignorance of spiritual laws is what is plaguing the earth today and most orthodox religions do not emphasize on these spiritual laws.

The answer to the question lies in understanding how spiritual laws operate especially the law of karma or law of cause and effect which Jesus Christ even highlighted in the Christian Bible when he said that whatsoever you sow that you will reap.
The problem is that people don't understand the full implication of that law.

It is the law that brought about reincarnation. So even death is not an escape from the law. If you commit a transgression on earth and die without paying for it, you will reincarnate back on earth to pay for it and some of that payment can come in the form of early death if you have killed someone in his prime in a past life. No amount of prayer will stop the payment. What prayer can do for you is to open your awareness to why the event happened.

God is not fooled by our antics. There is no mistake and no accidents in creation. All we have are ignorant creatures.

The answer is yes. There is no compulsion to become a member of Eckankar. Every one is welcomed to attend Eckankar functions without making any commitment. You are very free to take what you can from the teachings to make your life better.

The secret to a Miracle is a change in consciousness. The healing of affliction or disappearance of a persistent problem are only secondary effects. If someone's state of consciousness does not change even if a Spiritual Master takes his problem away, that problem will still resurface in another guise.
That was why Jesus Christ told those that he healed to go and sin no more, because he knew that if they continue living in a state of consciousness filled with sin, the illness he took away will return.

To change your consciousness and bring miracles into your life, you can start with the Spiritual Exercises of ECK. The most basic being the Singing of the HU, The Holy name of God as a love song for 20 minutes morning and night before sleeping and after waking up.
Do it diligently and watch yourself become a living and walking miracle of life.

The goal of Eckankar is to teach Soul how to reconnect with the Holy Spirit which dwells within every soul. Once this reconnection is done the Holy Spirit guides the individual soul via its own path, at its own pace back to God.

As such Eckankar being a pure spiritual path does not concern itself with social or moral issues of the day.
Once soul is linked up with the Holy Spirit every obstacle that stands between it and God is swept away. This is where we put our attention. We don't judge people based on their chosen life styles.

All souls are equally loved by God no matter your leaning or your following. No matter your tribe or religion so who are we to judge. Let God be the judge of all.
