One likely thing that might cause the death of the ladies is that they were most likely at the back seat without using seat belt. Accident impact can make them hit their heads on something or even fly out of the car.

The survivors most likely used seatbelt at the front seat.

It's important to always use seatbelt irrespective of where you're sitting in a car.
