This is a welcome ideal for peace but i have my reservation and my suggestions.

1. This same vigilantes will torment normal citizens as they will only show case their strength in the town and not villages where they are needed.

2. Empowering them with whatsoever tools meant to combat these bad elements without proper check will result to what we are currently facing in the Sankera area which consist of Katsina-Ala, Logo and Ukum.

3. Even in advance countries, arms control is giving them issue. Talk more of our country where literacy is by measure millions of miles away from our people.

4. Non-kinetic approach should be used in this crisis. All political leaders MUST be involved together with the traditional rulers and the militias operating in their areas of jurisdiction. And we MUST all agree to keep aside differences and join hand to foster unity.

5. The States of Benue, Nassarawa, Taraba, Kogi and Pleateu MUST be involved.

6. Be informed, that the crisis in Benue dates back as far as the 4th republic. Therefore i feel this crisis is more of generational than just herders-Farmers crisis.

Sabi President. The crisis wasn't your wish and you'll help the Benue People calm it down.

We are boycotting anything that won't function well and give us peace.

Those days i condemned Ortom for deliberately killing his Guma people, causing their death and grabbing their land is the same way i have spoken against Alia since he took over office. None of them have truly cared for the Benue people from my observation. Alia is concerned with grabbing power from Akume as the party leader and not the welfare of his people. Else, tell me why you will send thugs to beat protesters, police firing tear gas at peaceful protesters foe protesting against insecurity, Assistant to the governor sacking his own assistants (this one is very laughable) and now asking people to dress in carnival attire to welcome the President. I have always spoken against their style of leadership in my State and i will continue till i see change.

This is lovely if this will calm down the killings.

However i will observe a few things.

1. The issue of killings in Benue dates back to as far as the killing of Usman dan fodio by people who was killed in Ushongo. So it brings about constant reprasial from his decendants.

2. Traditional rulers need to stand by their people and say No when there's need for it than to be carried away by stipends.

3. While self protection maybe advocated for, i urge the governments' security to handle this crisis instead of living it in the hands of citizens alone. Remember that even in advance countries like America arms control has been a challenge for them. After the calm, the people may use this arms against themselves. A example of what is happening in Ukum local government.

4. Untill there's an inclusive discussion involving Nassarawa state, Taraba State, Kogi state and Pleateu State this issue will still arise.

From the day one of Alia i had said he started on a wrong foot and he may find it difficult to rule because he started with politics of power grab not governance or administration.

Governor Alia of Benue State has sent out an invitation to Benue State indigenes and those residing in the state to come out and welcome President Bola Tinubu, GCFR to Benue tomorrow.

In a message signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Special Group Mobilization Hon, Francis Ngutswen, the Governor has asked groups to come out in colours to welcome the President from the Airport to Wurukum Roundabout.

Even if allocation is increased, Alia will still struggle to have explanation about killings that he is not proactive about.

Alia is Ortom 2.0 with a little sprinkle of salaries and pension.

Some of them just wait for a news to start clout chase.

The chief press secretary to the governor is Mr Tersoo Kula.

What happened here was a Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Media Mobilization sacking his own Chief of Staff and Chief Press Secretary because they went to protest. These same people were taken away by unknown men and given a beating of their life.

It now makes me to wonder how much is the salary of an assistant to the governor that he will employ staff to work for him as Chief of Staff and Chief Press Secretary. An Assistant having assistants.

They probably want to give him a soft landing.

The guys from he South East are responsible for killing themselves and that has always been my stand. The support they gave to those who started killing policeman and destroying road blocks, to ESN and other bodies. But you see this killings they talk about in Benue, a lot is in it. The urge to hurriedly run and blame the sitting president is what I don't always like. Before now, they all said it was Buhari who was aiding his brothers to do crime, now it is Tinubu that is to be blamed. That's the human problem with we Nigerians. This problem needs to be checked first with our traditional rulers and the attitude of the governor.

So Tinubu can't declare a state of emergency in Benue despite the genocide because it's APC yet can declare same in peaceful Rivers state over a pipeline?

That means the APC led government don't value the lives of people in Benue. They prefer focusing on Israel, Peter Obi and 2027 elections.

this problem started towards the end tenure of Obj. Ortom was the one who criminally as alleged fueled this issue that has become what you are seeing. It started with our traditional rulers and that is where it started. So even if state of emergency is declared, untill the root cause is addressed, it will continue.

I have been one of the most outspoken Benue guys here who speak against those killings with much respect to other Benue guys hear who have been voices heard loud and clear even before i became heard. Right from the regime of Ortom i spoke against killings in Benue and mentioned things that could allegedly be the cause of such killings in the state.

The problem with most people on Niaraland is that they always want you to be against whoever they are against and the moment you're not against such a person of their interest to hate, you become a terrible person.

I am here reading comments and critiques, when i am done, i will say something

I am done reading some comments and of a truth, Alia has failed and not just Tinubu for those of you who are sentimental and want to be political about the issues in Benue. Those speaking against Tinubu are mostly those whose party came third in the presidential election, they have accused Tinubu but failed to condemn the act of the State governor who is alleged to have sent police to tear gas peaceful protesters and thugs to beat up people as alleged.

Alia got to government only to wrestle power with heavy weight politicians in the state than focus on government and administration. We feel he is better off a priest and handle the administration of a parish than a state.

Since this issue started only this year, he has all along being playing politics with it and accusing those politicians in Abuja for fueling killings in the State. He has been told by everyone (both LP, PDP, APC, youths, women and party loyalist) to mention those people and up till this moment no name has been mentioned.

Could it be another strategy for an increase in security votes in the state?

Alia as a governor needs to come out clean on this issue and address the Benue people concerning this killing.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Well, i am going to comment on this killings and protest very soon. It is not as if the government of the state doesn't know what is happening.

This is bad and it should be condemned. Alia is gradually doing the same thing past admin did.
