Guy tins are surprisingly diferent dis year unlike previous years wen ova 16,000 did d exam only 4000 wrote d exam dis yr and i learnt 4rm 3 student who are in d sch presently n a snr lecturer dat d cut off mark for 1stime had to be cut down to 40% becos only few were able to nick d usual 50% law. About 3 aspirant who scored btw 40% n 49% who chose a less competitive course ave bin admitted already 1 of dem is on dis thread. If u rily ave contacts who are in sch presently confirm 4rm dem. So there is hope eventhough it mayb a course 1 neva wished 4

No am not am just rounding up my project i was tinking of coming in for Direct entry next year bt my dad urge me to take jamb earlier in d year so dat mayb i can transit 4rm a polytechnic to a uni immediately without aving to undergo any IT or stay at home 4 an extra yr, so i did n took a late jamb form and here i am today stil hoping. Are u a D.E candidate? 4rm which institutn n which course? Wats ur score?

Dekins88: I think either Biology or Agricultural science is a compulsory requirement in any higher institution, No matter how you hate mathematics, i don't tink there is any course in FUTA you can study that you would escape mathematics, even if you study Ecotourism and wildlife Management and the likes, you are going to do mathematics for a minimum of four semesters.
So, what to do now,
- since you can't escape dy/dx, begin to love it now that you are not yet admitted
- go and dust your secondary study note, begin to study it probably start from J.S.S 1 till date. Though it might not make sense but it has helped a lot of people, Who knows you can become a guru in mathematics?

Yeah i knw as a science student u can't runaway 4rm maths and ave faced all those calculus, algebra n trigonometry, logic n linear algebra, elementary probability etc. During my ND days in Laspotech

yes but dats just d general cut off nt departmental cut off mark cos dat would vary n subject to competitiveness. But i heard dose who fall btw 40% bt chose a competitive course may likely nt get it depending on d % of dose who pass there bt are likely to get atleast any course which may nt like or suit dem

I dread am ooo... Nt dat i fear it dat much But having to face maths/further maths squarely for 5 solid years NO i no want am

Dekins88: I would implore you to stay within the school of science, your chances of been admitted is somehow high if you change your course to courses like Mathematical Science (MTS),Statistics(STA), Physics Electronics(PHY),at the same time i would urge you not to come near anyone of them if and only if you are not that mathematically strong because, the three are mathematically inclined (oun to wa leyin efa oju eje lo) Hope you got that drift? But if i were you since i seriously need this year admission and since i knew am very weak in mathematics, then i would rather changed to SAAT.

Wow! Thanks dats very incisive n revealing but do u tink eng, math, phy, chem would fit into any course in SAAT cos i tink u nid to ave biology b4 it can fit in there or am i wrong and it doesn't matter.

Well wat can i say i do dread Engineering cos it can be a hard nut to crack atimes bt at dis stage i would welcome any course except Maths cos nxt year is nt an option. Some of dose who chose nt 2 competitive and fall in btw 40% ave bin admitted. God wil do it 4 us all, each n every1 of us wil be singing our way into Futa.

Am also comp sci aspirant bt my score is 40% nt yet admited i don't tink i wil be given comp sci anymore considering even you who scored 60% hasn't been admitted which means many people head dey dere be dat bt i bliv i wil be given any course cos d cut off mark is now 40% due to mass failure among d few who wrote the post utme.
