I am 22 years old, I have Finnish my 2 years NID program in 2023 and wanted to go learn programing but someone advise me to go study computer science instead which I did and wrote jamb last year now I am in 100 level

So I ask my girlfriend if she can Bear with me for 4 years while am In school but I promise to come and be seeing her every holiday and we haven't seen each other for 2 years now but she did not say any thing until I pay my fees and she started asking me when are going to see? due to anger I said I don't know
And told her that I was asking the question because I don't want her to feel like am wasting her time and even if we see without her assuring is not enough assurance.
She keep mute and the the next day she suggested we break up instead

And now I keep thinking about her and regretting why I took jamb I should have just learn a skill and am also finding it difficult to cope with my studies due to over thinking.

We put unnecessary pressure on ourselves when we tie our plans and goals to age.

Avoid that mentality like a plague... Do you!!!

And I see you're more worried in being financially independent aka making money than using this opportunity to learn and grow now that you have a good support system.

Utilize that support now that you have it, build and grow, combine school with skill acquisition. These days there are programming clubs in almost every school... Find them and join them...if none, see how you can build one. You need people of like minds around you for motivation.

That money wey you dey think of...build yourself first, it will come...

The truth is that, when I finish NID form that maritime academy and discover that the school has no certificate I told my dad that I want to learn a programing skill but my dad friend insist I write jamb again and go for computer science instead and my parents agreed.

The only mistake I made is that I did not think about it I just accept because I believe everything they say is for my betterment.

Shun every form of discouragement and face your study squarely. You can combine programming or any other skills as advised ,but do not drop out.

I doubt you are the oldest 100 level student in the University , so.buckle up and graduate in flying colors
