But the REC displayed some activities of insanity How can he call result and still come back to say that he was under duress? |
Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, on Tuesday celebrated his victory in the National Assembly election with a promise not to take the victory for granted. He, however, called for a mental test for the returning officer who claimed that he declared him (the governor) the winner of the election under duress. Okorocha spoke with journalists at the Collation Centre in Orlu, shortly after he was declared the winner. He said it appeared that the returning officer was only playing out a script. He claimed that the rules were changed during the elections to favor a particular party in the state. He said, “On my own election, after having recorded victory in nine out of the 12 local government areas announced, we heard that they were trying to move the result sheets to Owerri. “When we inquired why, the man said he was tired and did not feel safe. But nobody was threatening him. In the end, we discovered he didn’t have the declaration sheet. “I wonder where this is taking us to. I hope INEC will change this system because we will resist any attempt to try this again in the next election. “They should examine the returning officer to know his mental state. If he is not mentally disturbed, then he must be a criminal to ever think of such a thing. “How could someone ask you to change the result of an election he has already won? My score is above 90,000 and the nearest to me is slightly above half of it, when you combine both Jones’s and Izunaso’s votes. “They can’t match or contest against me in Imo State not to talk of Orlu zone. Am I even supposed to contest for Senate in Orlu? I never campaigned, but only declared my ambition.” See More: https://grandmarketsquare.com/okorocha-celebrates-victory-seeks-mental-test-for-returning-officer/ |

Don Jazzy Reacts to Nigeria Customs Over Their Statement: Don Jazzy has joined other Nigerians on social media in calling out the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) after the agency released a statement blaming Passengers of a certain commercial bus for the stray bullet that killed an unarmed man along the Sagamu Interchange in Ijebu Ode. In case you missed the gist, yesterday morning, there was commotion along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, after an official of the Nigerian Customs service, allegedly shot a man coming from abroad because of N5000 bribe. It was gathered that they custom officers stopped a vehicle conveying a family returning from abroad and they demanded N5,000 bribe from them. Another man was also reportedly stopped by the Customs official on his way to the Eastern part of the country and he was charged to pay almost N300,000 for a custom charge for his car which he refused and complained that it is too much. After many arguments and out of annoyance the Customs officer mistakenly shot the man whom he and his family just returned from abroad in cold blood. (Watch the video HERE). However, in reaction to the viral video through a statement released by the NCS public Relations Officer, DC Joseph Attah, the agency blamed Passengers of a commercial bus for obstruction of duty which led to the death of the victim. NCS also blamed the witnesses for filming the moments and leaving the deceased who they claimed was a “friend” of the customs. See Image: https://grandmarketsquare.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/custom-report-on-the-incident.jpg But many Nigerians have condemned their statement and called it ‘bullshit’. Don Jazzy has joined thousands of Nigerians on Instagram to rubbish the statement from Nigerian Customs Service after killing an unarmed man. He wrote: “Corrupt bunch. Y’all killed that man. You shot at unarmed civilians that’s all. So sad.”See More: https://grandmarketsquare.com/don-jazzy-reacts-to-nigeria-customs-over-their-statement-after-its-personnel-shot-a-man-dead/ |

The Assistant Pastor of the Anointed Chosen Vessel Ministry, Okota, Lagos, Mike Oliseh, has been detained at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, for allegedly defiling the 12-year-old twin daughters of a church member and close friend. PUNCH Metro gathered that while 54-year-old Oliseh allegedly penetrated the private parts of the first victim, he allegedly inserted his fingers in the private parts of the twin sister. Our correspondent learnt that Oliseh, an indigene of Delta State, and the girls’ father, Okoro (not real name), lived on Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos State. Oliseh, who lived opposite Okoro’s house, was said to have relocated his wife and four children (a girl and three boys) to the Ikotun area of Lagos. He, however, retained his apartment at Okota, where he reportedly stay during the week before returning to his family in Ikotun by weekends. Oliseh, who is also into borehole drilling, was said to have employed the services of Okoro, whose bus was used to convey equipment to sites. The two then became close friends, as Oliseh also used the opportunity to win over Okoro’s family to his church. However, Okoro’s wife, Chidera (not real name), travelled on a business trip in 2017, during which time Oliseh started sleeping in their home. The first victim, Chioma (not real name), told our correspondent that while her father was fast asleep, the suspect defiled her. She said he threatened to withdraw support to the family if she told anyone about the incident, adding that she could not say the number of times that he had raped her. Chioma narrated, “He started it (rape) last year. He used to come to sleep in our house. He said there was heat in his apartment. So, while my twin sister and I would sleep on the floor, he used to sleep on the bed with my father. While my dad slept, he would come to the floor and sleep with me. He has done it many times. “He put his male reproductive organ in my private parts. He threatened that if I told my father, he would not take him to work again. He and my father eat and work together, and they both sleep on the same bed.” See Source: https://grandmarketsquare.com/pastor-defiles-church-members-twin-daughters-in-lagos/ |
