Advice to those who aren't used to writing aptitude tests

If you start with the math, it might affect your level of accuracy.

It's advisable to start with the verbal and critical reasoning or other questions that won't consume your time

There are a lot of passages in the verbal question...e.g T , F or cannot say etc

Just ensure to start with the ones that won't take much of your time. Also ensure that your eyes are on your wristwatch, because before you say 'jack Robinson', you'll start to hear "20mins more" meanwhile, you probably have attempted less than 10 questions. Eyes on the time as often as you can.

Also I advice that you don't waste time on shading, just tick and move on or put a dash...every second is impt(PS NOTE:THAT IS IMPORTANT YOU READ YOUR INSTRUCTIONS O! if there's an alternative to shading(e.g ticking), it advisable to select that one instead&move to the next question...this is just an advice to save time, as shading takes longer than ticking. "Just my thought".

The idea is to do as many questions as you know within a short time.

Endeavour to cover the majority of the verbal and critical reasoning part in less than or at least 30mins, before you do the calculation part. One would have covered about 50% of the questions.

The time can be 'INSUFFICIENT'

Concentrate on your work. Don't waste time trying to giraffe.

All the best!

Hello,

Kindly recommend.

Merci

Well this thread (https://www.nairaland.com/2300976/sample-aptitude-test-format-nigerian) helped me a great deal. The only difference is the Numerical Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning sections both had 20 questions, and the Critical Reasoning section had 10 questions.

But the most important thing to note is to be calm. The Numerical Reasoning section was tricky, I'll be honest. But do not let that trouble you. Do not spend too much time on any question you find difficult. The other sections were quite easy. - I wish you the best with your test.

Oga calm down now.

Ppl are just curious&making 'not so encouraging comments on the outcome....e.g, the test was hard...sarcastically hard...etc

Anyways...thanks for the encouragement.Sounds like normal.

Cheers!
Parisfran:
Stop asking for test format over and over again. You have been told its 20 maths and 20 verbal and 10 critical. It's not GMAT (I'm not going to argue with any body though). To the best of my knowledge, its either you know what you are doing not. I don't think there is anything to read.

Congrats text has been sent.

Manager ? Facebook ? Suspension letter ? cheesy

Please can you throw more light on what this means, even if you have to send a personal message.

I believe that one of the reasons for this forum is to exchange information, enlighten ourselves, and proffer advice or solutions to enable us make individual and 'informed' decisions.

Thank you.

Thank you very much.I appreciate your support and responses. However I have more questions to gain more clarity.1st of,kindly resend the link to UI's website.I tried to look for it on the previous post, but to no avail
2.Can they admit a 2:2 graduate of Microbiology Bsc?
3.Reading through the previous thread a second time,I notice that you can acquire an 'MPH' from 'UI',however in unilag, with a degree in Biological sciences like mine, you can only acquire an M.sc in PH.Please what is the difference between the MPH and M.sc PH.
3.I live and work in Lagos(so a par-time programme is what is likely to work for me,depending on the dynamics involved in their part-time lecture )I'm not particularly familiar with UI as such,Please can you help me find out if they run a par-time in PH and the duration? Also if it's the full-time you opt for how long is it gonna be run for?
4.you sound very convinced with doing an MPH in UI.I'll like to share in this convictions. Are you aware of people that have acquired an MPH in UI,or someone that is currently running it?what is your conviction that it's worth the while?(not trying to sound pessimistic,I just want be as convinced as you sound) also I'm of the opinion that have done a lot of research&you sound well-informed,based on how you have managed the conversations and answers to this thread,so your opinion would be of great help personally to me.This will enable me make an informed decision.
5.you also mentioned that after the entrance exam, you'll have to re-write another exam or an interview. Please throw more light on that.
It seems as though Etinos is the only one responding,Please I encourage others to also share their views and opinion. No knowledge is a waste.
To my previous question:I ask again-Is anybody aware of a graduate of an 'M.sc PH' in unilag or anyone that is currently running a programme and has shared or is willing to share some experience in that regard.

Thank you very much.
*I think I clicked on the wrong icon earlier.

Permission granted.

I don't think your questions are too many, therefore keep them coming. If I can answer them, I will. And most likely any other person who has insight into what you've asked may also wish to comment.

For questions on requirements, course duration, full time or part time, it's best to take a look at the PG prospectus of UI to get firsthand info, as well as more information.

The deadline for the current application is just around the corner. Maybe a week more or less, judging from the fact that application opened on June 8th and should run for 7 weeks.

How to purchase the form? Complete it online on the pgschool website, print an invoice, visit an accredited bank near you (anywhere) and defray the cost. Talk to an experienced teller not the regular cash and stamp cashiers.

Application Cost? Depends on your programme. I paid 20500 (MPH Epi)

I do know that for full time, course work is spread week long and sometimes Saturdays. You have to understand that PG is structured for more in depth study and practice.

Not sure of how part time is structured.

Their lecturers? I have no first experience, but I won't rate them badly. They are professionals and human too (culled from immediate past students).

Want to shuttle btw Lag and ibadan? No problem if you think you can handle it. I knew someone who worked in the south south and did his MPH at IBD going to and fro.

Thank you very much.I appreciate your support and responses. However I have more questions to gain more clarity.1st of,kindly resend the link to UI's website.I tried to look for it on the previous post, but to no avail

Thank you Etinosajay.Kindly permit me to ask further questions.
If I were to consider UI:
1.what requirements do they require?
2.how do I purchase the form,at what cost is it&when is the deadline?
3.what are the dynamics involved in their full-timE&part-time programmes.(e.g for Unilag Full-time,lectures are btw mon-Wed,while for par-time it's weekends.)
4.what challenges do use envisage one is likely to face shorting lagos-IB?5.Please are you or any other person on this thread familiar with UI?Are they strict or Liberal? Are their lecturers approachable?
6.Please who can attest to the M.sc PH in Unilag?Has anyone done in Unilag before or are you aware of anyone who has?Are they accredited? Is it worth the while?
These questions will enable me make an informed decision.Pardon me if they are a lot.
Thank you in anticipation of a quick response.

Hello 'Etino',I'm glad that you created this thread.I commend your efforts. Please I need some advice from the group:
The opportunity to apply for a par time M.Sc PH(in UNILAG) recently presented itself,so I spoke with an older friend and like a 'mentor',that has more experience in PH bcuz she had her MPH(abroad). My personal preference is to have an M.sc abroad. Her advice was that I save up&pursue a master's degree abroad bcuz the difference btw obtaining a degree here&abroad is significant."ps-note that she obtained her medical degree in UNILAG,so No bias"She also recommended that I consider online courses.
Please advise me o,Is it worth trying here.I hear Unilag forms are closing by the end of this month, which is a couple of days away, hence the need for a quick response.
I also observe that majority of the ppl following this thread talk more about UI than UNILAG with regards to the current admission. Is there a reason for that, that I'm unaware of?
Are there online courses in PH that can be recommended?

Thank you in anticipation of a quick response.
