Car Talk / 2023 Cadillac Escalade-v: A Race For Money, Speed And Luxury by Bigbass: 6:51pm On Jun 18, 2022
The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V” is the most expensive, largest, and most powerful Cadillac yet. I’d like to refer to it as a luxury performance-oriented Escalade. There’s nothing confusing about the new 2023 Escalade-V, with the V lineup now split between tamer V-badged models and full-on V Blackwing high-performance variants like the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. Its goal is to wield power and prestige.

The main distinction between the Escalade-V and other Escalades can be found under the hood. Instead of a 6.2-liter V-8 with 420hp, the V has a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. It’s a version of the engine that produces 668hp in the CT5-V Blackwing, but it’s been upgraded to handle the additional size and weight of a full-size body-on-frame SUV. The main difference is a 2.65-liter supercharger instead of the 1.7-liter found in the Blackwing. The larger supercharger, which generates 10psi of boost, is responsible for the increased power to 682hp. Torque peaks at 653 lb-ft, with 80 percent available at 2,000 rpm, combining with standard all-wheel drive to ensure hard launches. The end result is an engine capable of propelling a full-size SUV weighing 6,217 pounds from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds with launch control and a sports car-rivaling quarter-mile of 12.74 seconds.

Cadillac has also modified the suspension and braking systems of the Escalade for V duty. Air spring and adaptive damper adjustments reduce this massive SUV’s body motions while preserving ride quality. And six-piston Brembo front brake calipers give the V a firmer, more responsive brake pedal, though its initial bite is a little too grabby for our liking.

Toyota revealed the 2023 Sequoia in all-new designs and five trim levels ranging from the SR5 to the TRD Pro. The new Sequoia arrives at a time when American automakers dominate the full-size non-premium SUV segment.

SEQUOIA SR5/LIMTED/PLATINUM

The Sequoia SR5, which comes standard with LED lighting and 18-inch alloy wheels, kicks things off. A flip-up rear window, privacy glass, and a black grille with a chrome surround are also standard.

An eight-speaker audio system and an 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay round out the package. Car Talk / Brabus 900 Crawler Is A Dune Buggy Mercedes-amg G63 Look-alike by Bigbass: 4:44pm On May 09, 2022
Brabus is known for improving Mercedes-AMG models’ performance, but the German tuner opted to go much farther with a bespoke off-road vehicle built for conquering the desert.

Starting with the exterior, the Brabus Crawler shares visual elements with the Mercedes G-Class but actual components are limited to the LED lighting units. The bodywork is entirely new, made of high-grade carbon-fibre and based on a bespoke ladder-frame chassis.

The entire frame is a custom high-strength steel tube design that shares no dimensions with the actual G-class. The Crawler’s 21.0 inches of ground clearance takes the opposite approach of the slammed G63 900 Rocket, although this door-free SUV leashes itself to 99 mph.

Under the hood, you will find the potent Brabus tuned 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 delivering 888 hp (662 kW) and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of torque. Despite being built to hit the path less travelled, it can still run to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds. The top speed is down to 160 km/h (100 mph) due to the mammoth off-road tyres.

Car Talk / 2020 Toyota Highlander Comes With A Three Row Seat. by Bigbass: 8:08pm On Dec 20, 2019
The Toyota Highlander is a fully redesigning mid-size three-row SUV for the 2020 year model. It comes with over four different trims with different price tags. The 2020 Highlander comes with another style and beautiful packagings. The dashboard and center console has also been modernized.

The Highlander offers eight seats as standard in the lower trim levels . Second-row captain’s chairs are the norm in the XLE trim and up, with a bench still available. The new Highlander is an additional 2.36 inches longer overall, which all goes to the cargo area. There is now 16.0 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, up from the last generation’s 13.8 cubic feet. With the third row stowed, it offers 48.4 cubic feet of cargo volume, or a maximum of 84.3 cubes the second row down too (up from 42.3 and 83.7, respectively, in the outgoing Highlander). Essentially, these gains make the Highlander more competitive and less of an outlier – it’s still less spacious than many three-row crossovers, though, even if the gap has shrunk.

L, LE, and XLE grades feature a black front grille with silver trim while Limited and Platinum trims stand out with chrome trim, projector headlights, and 20-inch wheels (for the first time ever on Highlander). Three colors carry over from last year – Blizzard Pearl, Celestial Silver Metallic, and Midnight Black Metallic – while five new colors have been added for 2020. These include Magnetic Gray Metallic, Moon Dust (the blue pictured below), Ruby Flare Pearl (also pictured below), Blueprint, and Opulent Amber.

There are LED headlights and soft curves which give the Highlander a more dynamic and upscale appearance. Speaking of the latter, plastic body cladding is kept to a minimum and designers installed blacked out A-pillar to create the appearance of a floating roof. In keeping with the upscale design, 20-inch wheels are an all-new option for the crossover.

The Highlander’s tech quotient is bolstered by a standard 4.2-inch digital display between the analog gauges that can be upgraded to a 7.0-inch unit, as well as a standard 8.0-inch central touchscreen or an optional 12.3-incher. Current Highlander owners will be delighted with how crisply and relatively logically all of the new readouts render information, as well as with the numerous redundant hard buttons on the center stack and console. Along with the aforementioned active-safety features, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and Wi-Fi connectivity all are standard fare. Additional welcome gizmos include an optional digital rearview interior mirror, wireless device charging, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, and a configurable 10.0-inch head-up display.

The standard 3.5-liter V-6 is unchanged from last year and still develops 295 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. (The previous standard 2.7-liter inline-four has been discontinued.) Married to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the V-6 thrums in the background but delivers ample thrust with only moderate fuss when poked hard. For a quick merge onto the highway, we did find it necessary to poke it to find its high 4700-rpm torque peak. The eight-speed often quickly upshifts to top gear to aid efficiency yet is tuned smartly and operates unobtrusively, making it a close ally to the V-6. Additional assistance comes from a claimed weight reduction of around 250 pounds for the V-6 model and slightly more for hybrid versions, but we’ll confirm that once we get one on our scales.

Car Talk / 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime Adds A Plug-in Hybrid With 302hp by Bigbass: 1:38pm On Nov 21, 2019
Toyota is adding a new RAV4 model to the crossover’s lineup for 2021 in the form of the new RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid.

It produces a total system output of 302 horsepower, making it the most powerful compact SUV from a non-luxury brand. Toyota says it’ll also go from 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds, which should be in contention for quickest alongside the high-output 2020 Ford Escape. The RAV4 Prime shares the same 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder as the regular RAV4 Hybrid, but it’s tuned differently. Its 176 horsepower is the same, but it produces 168 pound-feet of torque at 2,800 rpm versus 163 lb-ft at 3,600-5,200 rpm. Toyota says that greater grunt in addition to more powerful electric motors means you’ll be able to notice a definite difference in low-speed driving. The fact that the Prime is a full two seconds quicker from 0-60 would certainly back that up.

The RAV4 Prime will come standard with 18-inch (19-inch available) wheels, heated front seats, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and multiple electronic driver assist features. These include adaptive cruise control, collision warning with pedestrian detection, road sign assist, and a driving mode selector complete with a Trail mode for rough terrain.

It also rides on exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels, the largest ever offered on a hybrid RAV4, with a unique two-tone design. Vertical LED accent lights give the XSE a unique look, while the optional Adaptive Front Lighting System with headlamp auto-leveling partially aims the beams into turns as the driver steers.

Car Talk / 2021 Mercedes-benz Gle 63 Amg, Gls 63 Amg Are Both Powered By V-8 Engine by Bigbass: 1:23pm On Nov 21, 2019
Mercedes-AMG has officially unveiled its flagship high-performance SUV at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. Meet the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S

The family haulers that bowed at the LA auto show pump up the power and flair from the SUVs already on sale from Mercedes-Benz. Both the GLE 63 and GLS 63 use a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 and integrated starter generator, a first for any AMG, to make 603 combined horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. The integrated starter generator, which has appeared on Mercedes-Benz cars before, adds up to 21 hp and 184 lb-ft, but not to the final figures. Both mate exclusively to a 9-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. The GLS 63 rockets up to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and the GLE 63 takes just 3.7 seconds. The top speed for both exceeds 170 mph, if that’s what you’re into with your family.

The rest of the 2021 GLS 63 AMG and 2021 GLE 63 S AMG are what we’d expect. Tall-riding SUVs that seat up to seven in the GLS, five in the GLE, shod with leather and tech everywhere. Both get a wall of 12.3-inch screens for digital instruments and infotainment controls, navigation, Burmester audio, and 21-inch wheels.

Car Talk / 2020 Nissan Sentra Debuts With Better Tech And Stunning Look by Bigbass: 1:16pm On Nov 21, 2019
The eighth-generation 2020 Nissan Sentra breaks cover with better, well, everything. Built on a new platform, this is the last of the automaker’s sedans to get the corporate design language.

The 2020 Nissan Sentra’s visual connections to the larger Altima and Maxima sedans, as well as crossovers like the Kicks and Rogue, are obvious. The compact wears the same V-Motion family grille, slim LED headlights (optional), and floating roof found elsewhere in the Nissan lineup. Opt for the range-topping SR trim line and the Sentra gains a sport-style rear spoiler, black-painted side mirrors, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, and a darkened chrome treatment on the grille.

The 2020 Sentra gets some interesting exterior color choices to complement its new and improved bodywork. The single-color options include Electric Blue, Brilliant Silver, Rosewood, and Gun metallic; Aspen White and Scarlet Ember tri-coat; and Super Black and Fresh Powder shades. Nissan is also offering a two-tone color option for the first time on the Sentra, as the scheme proved to be popular on the Nissan Juke and Leaf. The two-tone color combinations on the Sentra are Super Black/Gun Metallic, Super Black/Aspen White TriCoat, and Super Black/Monarch Orange Metallic.

Car Talk / Review On The 2020 Toyota Sienna SE Premium by Bigbass: 9:56am On Nov 09, 2019
The 2020 Toyota Sienna is among the oldest minivans on sale today. Only the Dodge Grand Caravan, which dates back to 2008, has more gray hairs on its proverbial head.

Toyota’s done its best to keep its minivan relevant, though, and the Sienna includes the segment’s most powerful V6 engine, a class-exclusive all-wheel-drive option, and a bevy of – standard – advanced safety features. Still, there’s no denying the current Sienna feels a bit burnt next to its newer competition.

There’s nothing sexy about the Sienna, and its boxy design places function over form. Well, for the most part. While Sienna L, LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Limited, and Limited Premium models boast rather conersvative looks, the more dynamic SE and SE Premium models wear tackier styling cues such as smoked headlights, Altezza-style tail lights, a more aggressive front fascia with a mesh grille pattern, and a set of trim-specific six-spoke wheels. Further distinguishing our Salsa Red Pearl test-vehicle is the new-for-2020 Nightshade Edition package. Limited to the SE and SE Premium trims, the $700 option adds black trim to the badging, exterior mirrors, grille, door handles, rear spoiler, and wheels. Frankly, we recommend saving your money and passing on the Nightshade Edition’s strictly aesthetic kit.

The Sienna’s interior is rather utilitarian. Marked by hard plastics, large climate controls, a plethora of storage nooks, and as many as 12 cup holders, the van’s insides reflect its mission as a multi-purpose vehicle. Whereas Toyota blesses its Sienna SE and SE Premium models with more aggressive exterior styling, the two trims’ interiors largely mirror those of other Sienna models. Save for white gauges, the sportiest Siennas share the same tall dashboard, three-spoke steering wheel, and dash-mounted gear selector with its stablemates.

The latest system sees vehicles equipped with navigation become a Wi-Fi hotspot, with up to seven mobile devices able to connect at one time. A 3D city view was added in addition to Google Street satellite imagery.

Car Talk / 2020 Mazda 3 Review by Bigbass: 6:39pm On Oct 21, 2019
The latest Mazda 3 looks cool and great to handles, exactly how a sporty sedan should be. For starters, its elegant sedan and unique hatchback body styles are considerably more stylish than expected for this segment.

There is something missing in the Mazda 3. There is a less sophisticated rear suspension for this latest generation which has dulled some of its corner-taking capability at the limit, but that is not the main complaint. The main beef is that, Mazda doesn't offer a hotter version in the vein of the Civic Si or VW GTI.

There is still an increasing demand for fleet drivers who appreciate the superior driving dynamics of a saloon car, especially one that is packed with an array of high level safety equipment as standard such as adaptive cruise control, head-up display and rear-cross traffic alert.

Fleet managers can be confident that adding the Mazda3 Skyactiv-X Saloon to their choice list will ensure they don’t need to pay over the odds for drivers to have a premium, stylish and well-equipped saloon.

The steering wheel, which looks sensational, is an absolute treat to hold. There's considerable center console space and Mazda's tech interface, which had lagged behind its competition due to key usability issues, has been cleaned up. The dashtop screen is large and easy to see. The knob that controls it is large, not unlike BMW's iDrive, and ergonomically placed on the center console. It's not a touchscreen, though, as Mazda engineers determined that hunting for touch-operating icons can be distracting. They're not wrong, and the higher-mounted screen is certainly easier to read at a glance.

The lack of a touchscreen makes it harder to select icons in Apple CarPlay, but the knob controller also makes scrolling through playlists or podcasts easier. Since the latest Android Auto was designed with non-touch screens in mind, the rotary controller isn't a major problem for those locked into the Google ecosystem.

The 2020 Mazda 3 comes with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four good for 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. That makes it the most powerful and torquey engine in its class, with the exception of performance variants. You can feel that when driving, as the Mazda3 provides sprightly acceleration, and being naturally aspirated, throttle response is excellent.

Most versions comes with a standard six-speed automatic, which is wise about gear selection and avoids the annoying characteristics of rivals that have higher gear counts. It has a standard Front-wheel drive with the automatic, all-wheel drive is an option.

Car Talk / 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Review: Fuel Economy And Easy Driving by Bigbass: 1:07am On Oct 02, 2019
Toyota’s Corolla sedan has long been one of the most popular cars in Nigeria, competing with other Japanese Vehicles. The all-new 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid is not an enthusiast’s driving machine and it doesn’t pretend to be, but it delivers good road manners and a quiet comfortable ride together with a different kind of driving excitement.

The Corolla Hybrid uses a 1.8-liter four-cylinder gas engine that pairs with two electric motors, and they’re all integrated in a smooth and natural way. That’s no surprise given it’s borrowed from the granddaddy of hybrids, the Toyota Prius.

Power comes on quickly from a stop and builds smoothly for sufficient midrange response. I’m not enthusiastic about continuously variable automatic transmissions, but the Corolla Hybrid’s doesn’t offend as much as others. (Technically, the Corolla’s hybrid drivetrain doesn’t use a belt and pulleys, which is usually what’s at play with a CVT; Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive has continuously variable gear ratios and lacks the familiar shifting feel many CVTs now incorporate.) In the Corolla Hybrid, much of the usual CVT drone and numb responsiveness are inoffensive, making the car pretty quiet — much quieter than the Insight.

Shared with the Prius, the powertrain consists of a 1.8-liter four-cylinder and a 53-kW electric motor that together produce 121 horsepower. That’s a far cry from the regular Corolla 2.0-liter’s 169 horsepower and every other compact sedan. Off the line, you might not notice it given the extra jolt provided by electricity, but charging onto the highway requires patience and acceptance of a loud, droning engine. That said, the exact same thing could be said of the old, non-hybrid Corolla, and it didn’t have that extra jolt.

Car Talk / 2020 Toyota 4runner Venture Edition Is A Rugged Off-road SUV by Bigbass: 8:14pm On Sep 26, 2019
The 2020 Toyota 4Runner comes in a few different flavors already: SR5, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro, among others. Toyota is expanding the SUV’s comprehensive range with the custom 4Runner Venture Edition.

At first look, this 4Runner’s exterior may not scream “special edition,” but the devil is in the details. The 4Runner Venture Edition gets unique touches like a standard Yakima Megawarrior roof rack (crossbars included), which measures 52 inches long, 48 inches wide, and 6.5 inches tall. That’s some serious roof storage.

This special model adds black door handles, mirror caps, rear spoiler, and badges. New 17-inch TRD wheels distinguish the Venture Edition, and its gunmetal design adds to its off-road personality.

Given that this 4Runner is designed to spend most of its time on the trails, all-weather floor mats and a rear cargo mat come standard. Like in other 4Runners, a rear sliding cargo deck is available for easier loading and unloading.

Car Talk / 2020 Hyundai Venue Review, Drive Test, Features And Specs by Bigbass: 7:29pm On Sep 25, 2019
2020 Hyundai Venue, a car that literally just debuted at the 2019 New York Auto Show. The newest and smallest CUV in Hyundai’s lineup, the Venue is slightly smaller than the Kona that went on sale last year and it will serve as the entry-level crossover in Hyundai’s lineup. While the prototype we drove on Hyundai’s Namyang, Korea test facility was camouflaged, we were able to preview an uncovered version of the crossover at the design center. And of course, there’s the undisguised example sitting on the floor of New York City’s sprawling Javits Center, if you need an even closer look.

The 2020 Hyundai Venue has all of those things in spades. Or at least I think it will. After driving an Australian-spec car outside of Brisbane and along the stunning Sunshine Coast, there are still plenty of questions about this subcompact crossover SUV. One thing to be sure of, though, is that it’s a smart, stylish package that should easily attract entry-level, new-vehicle customers to the Hyundai brand.

Based on preliminary sketches, the Venue shares some of the Kona’s design elements in front, from its aggressive cascading grille to its cubelike headlamps. It’s approximately 5 inches shorter and 1 inch narrower than the Kona, however.

Car Talk / The Nissan Patrol Full-size SUV Comes With Improved Aerodynamics by Bigbass: 7:14pm On Sep 25, 2019
Nissan unveiled a new look for its Patrol full-size SUV on Tuesday. The Patrol is the global model on which the Armada has been based since the two lines were consolidated for the 2017 model year.

The 2020 Patrol dons some sharp new looks that bring the SUV much closer in line with recent Nissan design. The latest V-Motion grille is prominently displayed and the headlights gain more angular LED accent lights. In fact, they look awfully similar to the headlights set to feature on the 2020 Nissan Titan, which is set for a Sept. 26 debut.

For 2020, the Patrol gets a more angular face. Gone are the swooping headlight surrounds and curved lower grille, replaced by straight lines and hard edges. The fog light housings are now recessed inside chiseled grille openings which may also incorporate functional air curtains for improved aerodynamics.

The styling changes in the rear are less drastic, but the taillights have been elongated and lose their rounded edges. The chrome nameplate panel now extends all the way to the taillight housings, and the lower bumper gets a two-piece design with the look of a rear skid plate. The overall shape is far more cohesive, and dare I say, intimidating than before. And before we move on, here’s a fun fact: The 2020 Patrol is the first Nissan to ever include sequential turn signals.

Car Talk / Toyota Announces That It Has Sold Over 10 Million Land Cruiser by Bigbass: 10:29pm On Sep 23, 2019
Toyota announced Friday that it has sold 10 million units of its iconic Land Cruiser series of SUVs worldwide as of Aug. 31—68 years after the Toyota “Jeep BJ” that launched the nameplate was introduced.

Exports of the Toyota Land Cruiser began in November, 1955, with the introduction of the 20 Series. While initial volumes weren’t particularly impressive (fewer than 100 units annually), within a decade Toyota was moving more than 10,000 to world markets each year. Today, Toyota says it sells roughly 400,000 examples of the Land Cruiser and its derivatives every year across 170 world markets.

The company credits the Land Cruiser with helping establish Toyota’s reputation for building durable, reliable vehicles, creating what it calls a “foothold” for its expansion into different markets, which have since grown to embrace other products in its now-much-larger lineup. In 2018, the largest market for Land Cruiser-family vehicles was the Middle East, which accounted for roughly 33 percent of its worldwide volume at about 132,000 vehicles.

Car Talk / Honda CR-V Joins The Hybrid SUV With Refreshed Styling by Bigbass: 10:10pm On Sep 18, 2019
Honda is finally adding a hybrid powertrain to the CR-V compact SUV for the 2020 model year. The new gas-electric model is accompanied by a few other changes to the CR-V lineup such as styling tweaks, a few small interior changes, and newly standard driver-assist features.

All trims bar the entry-level LX get new LED fog lights in front, with the middle-grade EX and EX-L trims also taking advantage of new dark gray, 18-inch wheel designs, while Touring offers new 19-inch designs.

Every 2020 CR-V will now be powered by the 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo with 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet. The 2.4-liter engine previously standard on the entry-level LX has been retired.

The hybrid option will be the most powerful offering in the CR-V lineup with 212 horsepower, besting the 1.5-liter gas engine offering by 22 horsepower. While seven ponies shy of the RAV4 Hybrid, it trumps the Escape Hybrid by 14 horsepower. The CR-V also offers a unique two-motor system that operates without a multi-ratio automatic transmission for a smoother, more EV-like drive experience.

Car Talk / 2020 Honda Accord Has Little Increase In Price by Bigbass: 9:52pm On Sep 18, 2019
The 2020 Honda Accord has begun shipping out to dealerships, but with the new model year, buyers will face slightly higher prices for most trims. Those looking at the range-topping Touring model will be met with a far more significant price hike, however.

Honda said on Monday the 2020 Accord will start at $24,800 (including a $930 destination charge) for the base LX trim. Buyers will find a 1.5-liter turbo-4 engine under the hood with 192 horsepower and an identical amount of torque paired with a CVT or six-speed manual transmission. All Accords are front-wheel drive only.

Buyers can choose between two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines. The smaller 1.5-liter DOHC unit produces 192 HP (195 PS) and 192 lb-ft (260 Nm) of torque, whereas the 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo packs 252 HP (255 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque.

As for its convenience features, all 2020 Accord models come standard with Bluetooth music streaming, Hands Free Link and Pandora compatibility. Accord Sport and above trims get an 8-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while EX and Touring trims feature HD Radio and SiriuxXM satellite radio.

Car Talk / 2020 Nissan Pathfinder Price Finally Revealed by Bigbass: 9:42pm On Sep 18, 2019
The 2020 Nissan Pathfinder gets no significant changes for 2020 and only slightly higher prices as it carries over ahead of an expected redesign to match new and updated competition in three-row SUV family haulers.

The seven-passenger Pathfinder comes in four trims with a single engine choice and front- or all-wheel drive. The 2017 update included a revised V-6 and electronic variable valve timing for more power. It comes with an efficient continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) that has been smoothed out over the years, good enough to get 20 mpg city, 27 highway, 23 combined in front-wheel drive, according to the EPA. Take away 1 mpg for all-wheel-drive models.

Nissan published prices for the Pathfinder on Tuesday and an entry-level Pathfinder S will cost $32,725 after a $1,045 destination charge. Whipping out the calculator, that’s only $150 more than a 2019 model. While you might expect pricier trims only grow more expensive, that’s not the case.

Car Talk / 2020 Toyota Pirus Arrives With AWD And Apple Carplay by Bigbass: 8:10pm On Sep 14, 2019
The 2020 Toyota Prius is finally here, and it boasts a ton of tech to go along with its brand-new electric drive system.

The Prius has been a known quantity for more than two decades; this efficient Toyota is the world’s best-selling hybrid nameplate. Now in its fourth generation, the Prius received a modest facelift for the 2019 model year, making it slightly less ugly than before (but still not pretty by any means), as well as a number of other updates. Therefore, the Prius rolls into 2020 unchanged, still offering incredible value and efficiency for the money.

Available on the Prius L Eco, LE, and XLE trim levels, the new infotainment system adds Apple CarPlay, as well as Amazon Alexa compatibility. However, the Prius still isn’t available with Android Auto, even though some other Toyota models are getting the feature. A 7.0-inch touchscreen display is standard.

Car Talk / 2019 Murano Full Review, Pricing And Specifications by Bigbass: 10:15pm On Sep 12, 2019
The Nissan Murano entered its third generation in 2015, and for 2019, receives a host of visual and tech updates. That’s a good thing, as the competition in the two-row crossover SUV set is stiffer than ever.

That’s an advantage over Murano’s smaller sibling, the compact Rogue SUV, which outsells the Murano by a factor of 4 to 1 but lacks Murano’s power and panache. The smaller-sized utilitarian Rogue cannibalizes Murano sales, with more interior cargo space and costs $6,350 to $9,000 less. Nissan wants you to just buy one or the other.

Murano boasts an eye-catching exterior, comfortable interior with a touch of elegance; ample horsepower, driver safety aids and top crash safety ratings.

From the outside, the Murano gets restyled LED headlamps and taillights, new LED fog lights, a black-painted front bumper section that visually heightens the grille, and redesigned 18- and 20-inch wheels. Inside, the top-spec Platinum model gets fancier with diamond-stitch patterned, semi-aniline leather, and all models up the airbag count with side airbags for the rear seat and knee airbags for the front passenger. Additionally, Nissan’s rear door alert is now standard (if a rear door is opened before a trip but not reopened afterward, the system honks the horn to remind the driver to check the rear seat). The available navigation system features enhanced graphics including satellite imagery and adds traffic-sign recognition and online POI search capability.

Front seat passengers are treated to an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat on all other trim levels. The passenger’s seat is four-way power-adjustable on SV and higher, meaning it can’t be raised or lowered.

Car Talk / 2020 Toyota Camry TRD First Drive Review by Bigbass: 10:40pm On Sep 09, 2019
Toyota Camry used to be a six-cylinder engine version. The 2020 Camry TRD, however, is the first of Toyota's long-standing bread-and-butter mid-size sedans that one could actually construe as "sporty."
TRD, which stands for Toyota Racing Development, is Toyota’s racing division responsible for building the company’s sporty vehicles and off-road trucks.

The latest Camry already features the most aggressive styling we have seen on the mid-size sedan but Toyota wanted to make sure you wouldn’t mistake the TRD for any of the other trim levels. You can spot a Camry TRD via its 19-inch matte black TRD wheels with optional Bridgestone Potenza summer tires, gloss black front splitter, side aero skirts, and rear diffuser with red pinstriping, cat-back dual exhaust with stainless steel tips, black lettering, red TRD badge, red brake calipers, and finally, the Dominic Toretto-approved rear wing.

As with the Camry XSE, the TRD model’s four available exterior colors are paired with a Midnight Black roof and black mirror caps. Toyota will offer the 2020 Camry TRD in Wind Chill Pearl (white), Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, and a TRD-exclusive color called Supersonic Red with other exclusive colors set to be available in subsequent model years.

There’s the rear wing — a Camry first — but also side aero skirts in black with red striping, extended front splitters, and a diffuser under the rear bumper. A gloss-black grille, special matte-black wheels, and a black roof complete the look. Exterior colors are limited to black, red, pearl white, and silver.

Car Talk / 2020 Lexus RX And RXL Gets New Improved Tech by Bigbass: 9:28pm On Sep 04, 2019
2020 RX facelift features a refreshed styling and new standard tech. While we were relieved to discover the infotainment system has been given a much-needed update, pricing details were kept under wraps – until now.

On the outside, Lexus changed the look of the front by updating the spindle grille, which had previously featured horizontal slats, and adding more prominent surrounds to the fog lights that echo the grille. Also echoed are the hand-drawn angles of the grille surround at each corner of the bumper to harmonize the visual flow.

As standard, the cabin comes with an eight-inch infotainment system for every trim, or an upgraded 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration and improved voice-recognition technology. Standard safety tech now also includes daytime bicyclist detection, low-light pedestrian detection, Road Sign Assist (RSA), and Lane Tracing Assist (LTA).

New for 2020, the RX 350 F Sport will be split into an F Sport appearance package and Performance package. Both include unique a steering wheel and shift knob, plus aluminum pedals and ornamentation, bumpers, grille, 20-inch wheels, front and rear performance dampers, LED ambient illumination and other goodies. The Performance package adds adaptive variable suspension based on the Lexus LC500, vehicle dynamics integrated management, sound generator, electric sport power steering, moonroof and heated and ventilated seats.

Car Talk / 2020 Hyundai Tucson Review And Buying Guide by Bigbass: 10:14pm On Sep 02, 2019
The mid-size SUV segment has seen quite a lot of action in Nigerian roads. It was actually a rival to Toyota Highlander. Now, Hyundai will be giving a mid-life facelift to the Tucson in an attempt to keep themselves relevant in the competition. The Hyundai Tucson facelift was first unveiled at the New York International Auto Show.

Despite being significantly outsold by competitors such as the Toyota RAV4 and Nissan Rouge, the Hyundai’s holistic sophistication and on-road refinement are noteworthy, as is its mid-cycle refresh for 2019 that brings more distinctive front-end styling, a redesigned upper dashboard, more standard infotainment features driver-assistance technology. Although the superficial changes barely notch up its curb appeal, the updates help make the Tucson even more compelling than discerning tastes might expect.

There are two engine options available for the 2020 Hyundai Tucson. The base engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that makes 161 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. A 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque is standard on SEL and above. Both the engines are connected to six-speed automatic transmissions. We’ve only driven a Tucson with the bigger four-cylinder engine and found the power to be on the lower side of adequate. The less powerful 2.0-liter will just feel even slower. We weren’t disappointed in the performance from the smooth and relatively responsive six-speed torque converter automatic.

Car Talk / 2021 Mercedes-amg GLE 53 Coupe Arrives With 429 Hp by Bigbass: 12:51am On Aug 28, 2019
Mercedes-Benz on Thursday unveiled the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE53 Coupe. Rocking all the same quality bits as the standard GLE but with a more stylish rear end, the GLE53 Coupe offers some serious performance, albeit one tick below the top-tier AMG 63 variant.

To begin, this GLE Coupe is based off the new 2020 GLE. Mercedes cuts the wheelbase down by 2.4 inches for the “Coupe.” It’s still a rather frumpy thing out back, but is slightly easier on the eyes. The biggest change of all comes via the non-coupe end of the vehicle.

SUV Coupes have never been our favorite segment but the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe has the potential to be one of the best. Like other AMG 53 models, the GLE 53 Coupe is propelled by a 3.0-liter inline-six with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology, producing a healthy 429 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque.

Car Talk / Toyota's Most Sporting Camry TRD Price Revealed by Bigbass: 10:43am On Aug 25, 2019
The 2020 Toyota Camry TRD takes a different approach to its place in lineup than the 2020 Toyota Avalon TRD. As reported by CarsDirect and confirmed by Toyota, a leaked order guide has revealed the starting price for Toyota's most sporting Camry to date. For $32,035, the Camry TRD will be the cheapest way to get it with the 301-hp V-6. For reference, the TRD undercuts the V-6–powered Camry XSE by $3960. It's also far cheaper than Toyota Avalon TRD, which starts at $43,255. Camry V6 is rated at 301 hp, a fairly wide margin over the 252 hp Accord 2.0T.

Toyota has made a number of "track-tuned upgrades such as bigger brakes and improved suspension setup that lowers the vehicle by 0.6 inches. There’s also a new aerodynamic body kit, TRD exhaust, matte black wheels, some red badging, and even painted red brake calipers.

Potential buyers should also be made aware that the Camry TRD will not offer the Navigation Package or Driver Assist Package, which adds a surround-view monitor and rear emergency braking. Other advanced safety features, like automatic emergency braking, remain standard. Instead of the XSE’s leather seats, the TRD offers SofTex synthetic leather. A few sacrifices perhaps, but if driving is your thing then the choice is rather clear.

Equipment-wise, the Camry TRD is similar to the $26,995 Camry SE, which is only available with a 4-cylinder engine. That means there’s no available navigation or driver assist package, and TRD buyers will have to make do with synthetic leather instead of the real thing.
