The self acclaimed leader of the Yoruba Liberation Army, Mr. Sunday Igboho who came to limelight after he took it upon himself to evict the Fulani herders from the West might be in for a bigger trouble this time.
Mr. Sunday Igboho who is said to be the leader of the group seeking for the sovereignty of the Yoruba Kingdom might be in for a bigger trouble after a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from his house during the recent raid by the Department of State Service (DSS).

According to the press briefing on the first of July, 2021,DSS, during the briefing made it known to the public that they were responsible for the raid of the Mr. Sunday Igboho's home, in the early hours of Thursday. The raid which left two people dead was said to be a very bloody raid with serious Gun battle.

According to the DSS, a joint team of security operatives raided the residence of Sunday Adeyemo Igboho at about 0134 hours in the early hours of Thursday, at his home town in Soka, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The raid was based on intelligence report that he has a cache of arms and ammunitions in his house.

On our arrival at his resident, the security operatives came under a heavy gun fire from Mr. Sunday Igboho's men at his gate, we saw them numbering about 9. Six of the men were armed with AK47, while three of the men were with Pump -action Riffles.
Our Gallant officers did not hesitate to return the fire. After which 2 of his men were Gunned down and we were able to arrest the rest of the men.

We have a casualty, one of our men sustained a gunshot injury on his right hand, but he is responding to treatment right now. We however gained access to the house and the following was what we found after the search
1. 7Ak 47 Riffles
2. 3 Pump-Action Guns
3. 30 Fully charged AK 47 Magazine
4. Five thousand (5000) rounds of 7.62mm ammunition
5. Five Cutlasses
6. One Jackknife
7. One Pen knife
8. Two Pistol holters
9. One Binocular
10. A wallet Containing five US dollar, local and international driving license with his name on them, ATM cards with a German residence permit no. Y02N6K1NY bearing his name.
11. Two whistles
12. Fifty cartridges
13. Eighteen (18) Walkie-talkies
14. Three Voodo Charm body Jacket ( Traditional body Armour)
15. Two Laptops, 1 Toshiba and one Compaq.
16. His international passport and those of many others.
Aside from the items recovered from the house, about 13 suspect were arrested and brought to Abuja. This includes 12 males and 1 female.

Aside this, this is to inform Nigerians that Mr. Sunday Igboho under the guise of self determination and fighting for the peace of the western part of Nigeria have become well- armed in order to undermine the public peace and order. This arrest and seizures have no doubt uncovered an underground plan by Igboho and his cohort to wage a violent insurrection against the Nigerian state.

We shall notify the international community of the development.
