Job Description: Development/Production Geologist

Requirements
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• BSc. degree in Geology
• 12- 15 years of active work experience as a Development/Production Geologist
• Knowledge of modern LWD and wireline logging tools, both the technology and best-practices for operations
• Knowledge of surface logging technology, the acquisition and preservation of whole core and sidewall core, and the acquisition of samples in general
• Experience in the planning and execution of formation evaluation campaigns for operated wells, in collaboration with subsurface project teams, drilling and completions personnel and overseas field operations bases
Roles and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
•
Daily liaison with wellsite Geologist in field as the primary interface between the Subsurface Team and field Operations
• QC of field LWD, wireline and mudlog data in close collaboration with the project team Planning of FE programs and the preparation of geological operations documents in support of our appraisal drilling program in close collaboration with the project team
• Geological Operation input into any post-well reports
• Responsible for Geological perception of pore pressure and wellbore stability during drilling
• Responsible for Static modelling
• Generate pressure profile for planned trajectory
• Work with the seismic interpreter to generate geological prognosis for planned trajectories
• Ability to support operations activities outside of standard work hours as required
• Carry out geological activities as member of an integrated study team or as stand-alone professional on discipline based projects. The role involves exposure to all phases of the asset life cycle from exploration to abandonment. The following are specific responsibilities:

Technical Skills
• Excellent Knowledge of surface logging technology- Tool principle and calibration
• Good knowledge of LWD/MWD/WL operations
• Adequate knowledge of pressure and over pressure in the subsurface
• Ability to write concise report in a timely and efficient manner
• Knowledge of HSSE and contracting process
• Appreciable knowledge of seismic interpretation, petrophysics and reservoir geology.
