GraciousWords: You've got so many robust responses already but let me just add: see page 1 FAQ 50 on this.
Enter the pool and if you have the funds please feel free to retake either IELTS or TEF or both to improve your CRS. Update whichever language has the most CLB 10s as your first language. Your CLB 9 in French, though excellent, is leaving a total of 12 CRS points on the table. 3 each for each competence.
#PleaseStudyPage1 Thank you. |

aestake: Totally contrary to your username. You ought to know stuff around both languages wrt immigration to Canada. I would not even retake IELTS. Don’t mind me. It’s better to be clear than been sorry. Now I am better and better informed |

vickyehi: Even if you don’t use French as your language of communication with IRCC, it is possible to use French as the language you want the highest point allocated to in your application.
Just pay attention when filling the form and you will see the question that asks exactly this. I have actually seen it. After I posted here . I went back to my profile and saw it. |

Abercrome: True, the French as a primary language gives her a unique edge sef. And her score of 497 is great. I’m around a similar score too It give me more point than even getting 8777 in ielts self and making French my second language |

greenverte: Let me give you a naughty response. If it's by using language spoken in the country, Nigerians won't need IELTS to apply for study visa. If it's by using language spoken in the country, China, Pakistan, Philippines ...will have no language to input as primary language.
You are only advised to use the one with the highest as primary to give you maximum points. Don't give money to MOD/BC anymore as your IELTS result is already enough to support your TEF. An dancing here ooo. True I just reasoned it too. Thank you very much |

Abercrome: Use your TEF to get in the pool now. If you later get the minimum for IELTS, you can always update your profile. Thank you. I have gotten into the pool My score is 497 now as I checked. I will write another ielts I just hope ita does not come till I swap the primary from French to English. But if ita meets my French as primary language I don’t think I should be worried I think |

Good day everyone
Ielts has not been good to me. I had written quite a number I had LRWS 8,6.5,7,7 which is best so far I speak French quite well and write , because my mum was trading in Benin republic all through my young age. I gave TEF a shot and got a band 9
I am thininking of re writing ielts to get 8777 so I can have a good chance as English is my primary language.
Or has any Nigerian been able to successfully use TEF as primary language for this Canadian journey. I just got to know this forum today when I was searching for this information and I have not seen any Nigerian use French as primary language |
