If WES has sent verification mail to LASU. First of all, check with the verification unit (first floor) in Exams and Records to confirm receipt of the verification mail. If it's in, you need to proceed to Sterling Bank inside the campus to pay N10,000 into LASU Third Party Account. You then take the copy of the teller to Block 6 in Admin Building to convert it to receipt. After this you proceed to Exams and Record and give them the receipt so they can respond to WES accordingly. I am equally waiting for LASU to respond to WES Verification mail after I sorted out the above process. All the best! jummolami: Quick update!!!!
LASU has delivered hubby's transcript to WES finally and verification sent to LASU. Really appreciate all. now to pursue verification with LASU.
Still waiting for UI oooo, no response per verification yet. hmmm the only delay is "no light in the school" as reported. I am tired of naija. |

Wify WES evaluation and IELTS not necessary if PA can pass the ielts with great scores and degree dependent (berra off with Masters or PhD) CNNN: What happen in June?
Is it a must for wife to do wa and IELTS if I get enough point.? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by billy: 8:22am On Sep 04, 2017 |
Definitely, some points will be dropped in the PA's age, level of education & official lang with spouse inclusive but can be redeemed or even increased with spouse having an excellent ielts score and evaluation of degree, preferably Masters or PhD for max points. Tee248490: That is if you add spouse without ECA and Ielts, if not scores wont drop , may even increase depending on degree and how good ielts result is |

You will certainly come through... Just a lil' more push. It is well Nogen: I totally agree with you. I messed up big time. It was even the section 1 that I drifted, the easiest part of the listening exercise. It means I got all others to have scored 7.5. Would have gotten 9. It's well.
All other things I need for EE application is ready! ECA, POF, and so on. It's just this IELTS. Used to think POF would be my challenge for a family of 5 but I have been able to surpass that now. Thanks to God. My headache now is IELTS. I will surely overcome it too. Thanks |

Spot on @Kontagious. Kontagious: Hi billy, I feel compelled to respond to this post though would rather want the the debate to end as its been subtly on for a while. However, if the debate goes on with pointers that might help one, two or five people, then it's worth it.
I agree 100% with your post (and bbaby84 submissions) but I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that you lose points in some factors if you chose you have a spouse, rather we mostly recommend test takers (either single or married) to aim 8777 LRWS. Here is the gist, an applicant who is single does not get maximum score attainable from ielts with 8777 so does a PA with a spouse loses points attaining that score. A spouse on the other hand gets maximum (20) points claimable scoring 8777.
If I am right, yooku's initial post was made to encourage future test takers to max out their score with 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 (LRWS), but she only referenced CRS factor from a married applicant's perceptive.
In summary, applicants either single or married (PA) gunning to secure points possible should aim higher than 8777.

GodgivenGrace: I salute everyone on this thread you are actually doing a great job. Am new to this thread and also new to the EE procedures too.
Please I want to ask some questions
1) I used the CRS calculator to calculate my scores just to have an idea and my chances before I book for IELTS as am about to take the test. I got 448( with assumed good ielts scores)with age 34 years when I used 35years with the same assumed ielts scores I got 442.
Am actually 34 presently but I will turn 35 by December this year.
My question is when all the necessary documents are ready to enter pool which year should I put (35 or 34). I will enter pool before Dec by God's grace. If you are still 34 before you enter the pool, enter 34 but if you are already 35 before you enter the pool, just jejeli enter 35 to avoid misrepresentation and rejection.
2) My second question how can someone improve on the scores apart from the usual criterium?
I noticed that someone can add additional points by getting job with a recognised Employee in Canada while you are outside Canada and similarly, additional points can be added by provincial nomination. It is possible to earn points by securing a job in Canada but it may actually be tough but HIGHLY possible
Please how can someone get these? Thank you |

@bbaby84, to corroborate your post below. I did a small analysis shown below using the CRS tool. I am married with two kids. I completed CRS tool as married and chose spouse not accompanying me with a certain IELTS score (S:7.5-9, L:8, R:7.0-7.5 & W:7.0). See my score breakdown: AGE= 83, Level of Edu= 128, Official Lang= 127. Spouse Factors= 0, Skill Transferability factor (official lang. proficiency & edu= 50), Foreign work experience (official lang. proficiency & foreign work exp=50). Total score 438 points. Note that no score was obtained under SPOUSE factors. I did another analysis, married and chose spouse accompanying me with the same IELTS score I used before. See my score breakdown; AGE; 75, Level of Edu= 119, Official Lang.=119, Spouse Factors= 8, Skill Transferability factor (official lang. proficiency & edu= 50), Foreign work experience (official lang. proficiency & foreign work exp=50). The total score dropped to 421 points. I scored just 8 points under SPOUSE FACTORS using her B.Sc (assuming it's evaluated). I assumed she won't do IELTS, so no points earned. I gained only 8 points under SPOUSE FACTORS compared to the 25 points I lost in AGE, Level of Edu & Official Lang when I chose "accompanying me. Comparing these two analysis, I lost 8 points in AGE with my spouse accompanying me. I lost 9 points in my Level of Education with my spouse accompanying me and also lost 8 points in official lang, totaling 25 points. I would advise if you have spouse accompanying you, the PA must ace the IELTS exam with excellent scores and have your spouse degree evaluated and if possible (if no cash constraint), let her also write IELTS exam to give some points. Anything short of having good IELTS score will drop your overall score with your spouse accompanying you. Just thought to share.... bbaby84: I hope you've put this theory to test? Let me comment my real reserve In case you didn't know, you get more points If you're a single applicant or if you have an unaccompanying spouse as opposed to married folks with accompanying spouses. Please use the CRS tool. |

Hello All,
Please note that today's rate if you are using GTB Naira MasterCard is N298.35 to 1 Canadian Dollar.
I learnt FCMB offers a better lower rate that GTB, so you can check them out as well.
Thought to share.... |

It's not IRCC that will do the conversion rate for our local banks. The N230 was once the prevailing rate when IRCC hosted that information. As at today, the bank will slam you from N287 to some figures above N300 (atleast GTB charges way above N300 to 1 CAD using your naira MasterCard). The prevailing rate is bank dependent.... perks: Guys, I was playing around the IRCC site and came across the attached. It seems the exchange rate used by IRCC is 1CAD=N230 as against whats on xe.com and oanda.com.
NB. Its only my thought oooo. |

In the listening and reading test, you are given a score out of 40. This 'raw score' is then converted into a band score. You can use the following tables to calculate what IELTS score your raw score will be.
It is important to note that the tests may differ in difficulty because it is obviously impossible to make each test at exactly the same level. Therefore, these band score boundaries may vary slightly according to each test.

N302 to 1CAD is even lower than what GTB charged me on the 5th of August. I was debited N71,078.92 using my naira MasterCard at the rate of N304.6544 to 1CAD...... As at that time, 1 CAD was still hovering below N280. I was utterly shocked but not again. Once bitten, twice shy!
