Kogi was actually part of Kwara then, however that was not the major reason a Christian became the governor.
C O Adebayo was a very good man, destiny to become a governor and fortunately there was a serious power tussle between NPN Governor (Muslim) Adamu Attah and his godfather.
The godfather decided to support C O Adebayo and he won the election with a very wide gap. He introduced UPN/ Awolowo Free Education and Free Health services immediately. Unfortunately Buhari/ IBB coup did not allowed us to enjoy the great programme in Kwara before he was removed.
