The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is set to dissolve his cabinet after the State Assembly election slated for this weekend.

Those that will be affected include Commissioners, administrators of Local Government council in Kogi West and other political appointees.

A source close to the Government House disclosed that the governor was not happy with political appointees from Kogi West based on the fact that they could not deliver the seven local government councils during the presidential and National Assembly elections.

Governor Bello was said to be very angry that the Kogi West political appointees could not mobilise the people to vote against Senator Dino Melaye from representing the senatorial district.

During the presidential and senatorial election, Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party won 6 out of 7 local government councils.

DAILY POST gathered that the governor has also finalised plans to replace the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Ashiru Idris and his younger brother, Abdulrazak Ashiru, the administrator of Yagba East.

Meanwhile, the governor according to the source has given all the political appointees, local government administrators and APC chieftains a matching order to deliver this coming State Assembly election.

The governor according to the source dropped the hint during a meeting with stakeholders of the party in the state.

The source said the governor directed that all the APC chieftains in Kogi State are expected to deliver maximum votes for the party in the coming House of Assembly elections in the state.

“The poor delivery in Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections, particularly in Kogi-West Senatorial District will no more be condoned.

“The party’s strong membership did not show in last weekend’s election. It showed that most of the chieftains, appointees and council chief administrators did not mobilize the grassroots after all the support from the party.

“We have over seven hundred thousand registered APC members in Kogi State, yet the performance last Saturday was poor.

“GYB Kogi New Direction will not condone this act any further. Party leaders, appointees and council chief administrators are expected to perform to expectation at the next House of Assembly polls on March 9,” the source said while quoting the governor at the meeting.

In a swift reaction, the Director-General, Media and Publicity to Kogi State Governor, Kingsley Fanwho told our correspondent that the information was false.

According to him, there is no statement credited to the governor that his appointees from Kogi West must deliver in this Saturday’s election or be booted out of his cabinet.

The DG added that the APC is working round the clock to ensure that they come out victorious in the forthcoming polls.
