After many weeks of conjectures and permutations, the lead counsel for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, on Tuesday, unveiled Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) as the leader of the defence counsel for Nnamdi Kanu whose trial commences today before Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court in Abuja.

Kanu arrived the court at 7am amidst tight security as operatives of the Department of State Services frisked journalists and lawyers.

As of the time of filing this report, the court had yet to commence sitting.

“Yes, I’m now in the legal team and that’s why you’re seeing me in court,” Ozekhome said.

Ejiofor had in a statement announced that the fortification of Kanu’s legal team was the Christmas gift to Kanu when they visited him at the headquatres of the DSS where he was being detained.

Ejiofor had however kept the identity of the person to his chest.

He had said, “I want to assure you, Umuchineke, that our legal team, is, presently, more fortified than ever to do battle in Court, and God being on our side, victory is assured. We paid our routine visit to our untiring, unwavering, unrelenting, rock-solid and noble client, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, at the DSS detention facility at Abuja. The visit, this time, was spectacular and was greeted by an infectious air of camaraderie. Onyendu was particularly enthused by the visit and preferred to describe it as ‘A surprise Christmas Present’. You may not understand the peculiarity of this visit and the how significant it is.
But in due course, I am certain you will be in the best position to fully appreciate the wisdom that informed it. Suffice it to say that as the lead attorney of Onyendu, I took advantage of the visit to unveil a legal giant, a distinguished and an accomplished member of the Inner Bar, whom I have chosen to fortify our defence team. The learned Senior counsel is an excellent and a consummate learned gentleman, distinguished in academics and in the practice of law in our law courts.

The reason that informed this arrangement is my unflinching desire to throw in every weapon in our arsenal to ensure that Onyendu gets the best at all times. This latest master stroke, evident in the legal giant that has intervened, came to Onyendu as a big surprise. Although he was not oblivious of my arrangement to enlist the assistance and co-operation of a Senior Attorney, he did not know that I could get a Senior Attorney of the rarest breed.

“He was particularly delighted to welcome this legal giant, a consummate member of the Inner Bar, a legal Iroko, who has distinguished himself in the practice of law, when we visited him yesterday. I must state here and now that the Senior attorney involved has been my mentor over the years. He has worked from the sidelines with our legal team since 2016. He is a man imbued with profound intellect, legal sophistry, an infectious sense of history, much like Onyendu, and of impeccable character.

“His brilliance radiates effortlessly. He is indeed an excellent advocate. The stage which we have attained in the Court gymnastics involving Onyendu signposts an auspicious time at which to introduce the leading and erudite member of the Inner Bar to our defence team. Henceforth, he will lead our defence team in proceedings in Court.

“Further, in the course of our interaction with Onyendu, the legal giant singled me out for commendation. He paid me effusive compliments for my steadfastness, devotion, commitment and fidelity to Onyendu.

“He also variously referred to instances to buttress his conclusion. Onyendu, with a smile on his face, nodded repeatedly in approval. I was particularly touched by these references and it further fortified my firm resolution to the cause of Onyendu.”

But apparently Kim has a VERY different version of the story.
Today in the ongoing soap opera that is Kimye's divorce, Kanye West is claiming that Kim Kardashian's security team won't let him enter her house—even with his kids.

In a new interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Kanye shared a story about being denied access to Kim's house after picking their kids up from school.

"Earlier this week, Monday, when I went to go pick my kids up from school, the security stopped me at the gate. So at that point, security was in between me and my children and that's what was not going to happen," he said. "But I didn't want to argue about it. So I just chilled, took my kids to school, and then took my kids back. I am driving. I bring them back and North was like, 'I want you to come upstairs and see something.' And it's like, 'Oh, Daddy can't come see something. Daddy can't come inside.' But that hadn't been defined."

Kanye added that Kim's new bf, Pete Davidson, was reportedly inside at the time, which prompted him to enlist two of his female cousins to go talk to Kim about the ~whole sitch~ (which, apparently, also included some *thoughts* about North's budding career as a TikTok influencer).

"I am hearing that the new boyfriend is actually in the house that I can't even go to. And that's where I call my cousins. And my cousins is real opinionated, you know that. And I said, 'I need you to go and say these two things.' Security ain't going to be in between me and my children, and my children ain't going to be on TikTok without my permission," he explained.

According to Page Six, sources close to Kim say Kanye's "claim is completely bogus" and Kim is "saddened by his public outcries" and just "trying to set healthy boundaries."
"Instead of showing up at any hour, unannounced at her home, she has asked for better communication from him and for visits to be scheduled in advance to give the kids a more predictable [schedule]," one source said. "Kanye has never been deprived of seeing the children ever! The narrative that he is trying to create is false and hurtful for their children and their co-parenting relationship. There is nothing standing in the way of him and his children."

Oh, and as for those claims that Pete was in the house when Kanye was turned away, one of the Page Six sources said that's definitely false.

"Pete has yet to be introduced to Kim’s kids, and it’s widely known that whenever he visits her in LA, he stays at a hotel in Beverly Hills where she’s been spotted with him," the source said.

In the Hollywood Unlocked interview, Kanye acknowledged that he hasn't been perfect, but stressed that his kids are his top priority.

"I can have my principles and things I've changed things, and I backslide, and I haven't been the best Christian and things the media can make seem some kind of ways," he said. "But at the end of the day, I'm Jesus gang. I'm about family, just me and my kids, parenting. And I mean, my kids' mom we not together. I'm still gonna be the best dad."

At least the good news about all of this drama is that it's abundantly clear that Kim and Kanye are both committed to creating the best situation for their kids—even if they don't totally agree on what that is yet.

A female soldier who says men tell her she's too pretty to work as a soldier has spoken out, handing out a response to the comments she gets from men.

In a video shared online, the soldier is seen wearing her uniform while addressing the issue.

She began: "Some guys tell me I'm too pretty for the work I do."

She explained that what she's too pretty for is to beg men for "urgent 2k" or to be disrespected by them.

"If there's anything to be pretty about, it's to make you believe without you I'm nothing, it's to be used and dumped by you," she said.

Mr Tinubu, a national leader of the APC, will be among the frontrunners to succeed Mr Buhari, whose tenure as president, ends in May 2023.

After months of speculation, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has formally declared his intention to run for the country’s president in 2023.

He disclosed this to journalists after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja on Monday.

In his interview with State House reporters, Mr Tinubu said it has been his age-long ambition to lead the country one day.

“I have informed the President of my ambition but I have not informed Nigerians yet, I am still consulting. And I have no problem consulting. And I’ve not set a parameter of limitation to the extent of how many people I will consult.

“You will soon hear. All you want to hear is the categorical declaration. You’ve gotten that truth from me that I have informed Mr President of my ambition, and you don’t expect more answers than that,” he said.

His position was also confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES by his spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, who implored this reporter to wait for a full transcription of his boss’ interview with state correspondents.

TVC News, a television station believed to be owned by Mr Tinubu, also confirmed in its report that Mr Tinubu made the statement to reporters.

While the former Lagos governor could not disclose Mr Buhari’s position on his decision to run to journalists, his statement however, suggests the president’s compliance with his vow not to openly canvass support for any candidate.

“That’s our business. He is a Democrat. He didn’t ask me to stop. He didn’t ask me not to attempt and pursue my ambition, it is a lifelong ambition. So, why do I expect him to say more than that? You are running a democratic dispensation, and you must adopt the principles and the values and the virtues of democracy. That’s it,” Mr Tinubu said in response to a question on what transpired at the closed-door meeting with the president.

A lot of people have asked me in recent days how they can create and sell NFTs (non-fungible tokens), so I decided to write this tutorial on how you can mint (and hopefully sell) an NFT for free, with absolutely no gas fees or other costs to you.

First, a disclaimer. There are many different platforms and blockchains on which you can mint NFTs and all of them have advantages and disadvantages. In this article, I will only focus on the OpenSea platform and the Polygon (MATIC) blockchain. This is because choosing these is one of the ways you can create NFTs without paying gas fees (which are necessary, and potentially quite pricey, if you mint an NFT on the Ethereum blockchain, for example).

If you need to pay gas fees (the price required to conduct a transaction on a blockchain) when creating an NFT, you will need to sell the NFT for a much higher price in order to make any profit because you will need to at least cover the gas fees that were paid. That is not easy to do… for most artists, at least.

1. Connect an ETH Wallet to OpenSea
First, you’ll need to connect an Ethereum wallet to OpenSea. It can be completely empty — you don’t need to own any cryptocurrency. If you do not already have a wallet, I would recommend using either MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet. Both work well, are popular, and are easy to use.

Don’t forget to back up your recovery phrase while you are doing this step. You will need your wallet to confirm certain steps in this tutorial, so have it ready during the process.

2. Create an OpenSea Collection
NFTs on OpeanSea are created within a collection so you should first create a collection. To do this, click on your profile icon in the upper right, click My Collections, and then click Create.

3. Set Up the OpenSea Collection
Set up your first OpenSea collection. You can set images (including logo, featured, and banner), and you now pick a name for your collection, customize the collection’s URL, and add a description of your choice.

You can also set the Royalty percentage fee here. This is the percentage you will earn from NFTs you create every time it is subsequently sold and changes hands. If you sell an NFT for $X, you will initially earn $X, but if the buyer then resells the NFT to someone else, you will make money again by earning a percentage of that new sale. I personally usually choose 10% as my Royalty fee.

4. Pick the Correct Blockchain
Next, select the correct blockchain for your collection. The opinions are the Ethereum blockchain and the Polygon blockchain. If you want to pay zero gas fees, choose the Polygon option.

Finally, click Create. You will need to confirm the actions you take with your Ethereum wallet while setting up the collection.

5. Begin Minting NFTs
Now that you have set up a collection, you can start minting NFTs. Just click on your collection and then on Add item.

You can now upload a piece of art (picture, music whatever) and mint it as an NFT. You can also choose how many copies you want to mint. If you have things like stats or unlockable content you get when you purchase the NFT, you also specify those things on this page.

Once your NFT is minted, you can click on its page and click Sell to put a price on it. The price needs to be a minimum of $2 when using OpenSea. You can also choose how many copies of the NFT you would like to sell (if there is more than one copy).

6. Profit!
That’s it! You created your first NFT and paid absolutely nothing in fees!
Now for another disclaimer: minting an NFT is much, much easier than actually selling one. You either need to have a following already or have a different way to get people’s attention.

Reddit is one avenue you can take: there are numerous subreddits in which you can do giveaways to promote your collection — it’s a good way to start and the way that I achieved my first few sales.

Looters are presently having a free day as the famous shopping mall, Next Cash & Carry located in Jahi district of Abuja is engulfed in fire.
The cause of the inferno that razed the entire mall could not be immediately ascertained.

A pall of smoke bellowed from the scene when the mystery fire engulfed the mall on Sunday just before noon.

Several goods valued at billions of naira were burnt in the inferno.

However, the fire also provided a leeway for looters, who stormed the mall and looted many household goods like mattresses, electronics, groceries among others.
At the time of filing this report, the fire was still raging as efforts to put it under control were ongoing.

At least two people were detained after a violent fight broke out at the crowded Miami International Airport on Monday evening.

An officer was involved in the altercation and was captured on video pulling out a gun, even as a large crowd could be seen around him.

The fight had broken out after an unidentified passenger had allegedly taken the keys to an airport transport golf cart, not allowing the officer to leave.

The fight broke out because of a delayed chartered flight, reported NBC Miami.

Ticketless fans of Nigerian singer Wizkid broke into the performer’s London show Sunday night, charging past security barriers and into the concert venue.

Videos showing the breach quickly went viral on social media, although spokespeople for the O2 Arena said the incident was rapidly resolved.

“​​People are literally breaking in to see Wizkid at the London o2,” one clip was captioned.

Other videos showed the madness from different angles.

A “breach of the security cordon on the arena entrance occurred,” a spokeswoman for the venue confirmed in a statement to the BBC, adding that “a number of fans in the queue were able to enter the venue.”

The situation, however, “was quickly contained by staff and the incident resolved.”

It occurred on the first day of Wizkid’s three nights of shows at the venue, and the O2 Arena is now “reviewing security procedures for the remaining shows this week and advises fans to arrive early for security checks tomorrow night and again on Wednesday.”

In what seems like an unusual story, fast-rising disc jockey, Michelle Abesin, who was reported to have drowned at a Lagos beach on Thursday, has been recovered alive.

There was palpable fear Tuesday, in Igborosun, along Aso-Odo Road, area of Badagry, Lagos, as some residents defied possible explosion to scoop petroleum product from the scene of a fallen tanker.

The incident reportedly occurred in the morning as the tanker laden with 33,000 litres petrol tanker overturned and fell on the road.

Eyewitness account said despite the presence of security operatives in the area, the residents scooping the fuel continued unabated.

However, the Chief Executive Officer, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke Osanyintolu said the agency’s attention has been drawn to the incident and emergency response plan has been activated.

Marilia Mendonca, one of the hottest young stars of Brazil’s answer to country music, died in a plane crash on Friday, officials said.

The 26-year-old mega-popular “sertanejo” singer was killed when the small plane she was travelling in crashed in Minas Gerais state, firefighters said.

The crash also killed the Latin Grammy-winner’s producer and one of her uncles — who worked with the singer — as well as the two pilots.

Authorities have launched an investigation, said local police chief Ivan Lopes.

“We still cannot say what caused the plane to crash, but there is damage that suggests that the plane collided with a (power) antenna before falling,” Lopes said at a press conference.

Mendonca, who won a 2019 Latin Grammy for best sertanejo album, was wildly popular in her native Brazil and beyond, with 22 million followers on YouTube and more than eight million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Workers trapped as 21-storey building collapses in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The building was reportedly under construction when it went down at about 1:30 pm on Monday.

The team of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) is present at the scene making efforts to rescue the trapped workers.
The General Manager, Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Gbolahan Oki, says the owner of the collapsed 21-storey building, under construction in Ikoyi, was given approval to construct only 15 floors.

Mr Oki told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the telephone that the owner of the property has been arrested and would face the law because people have died in the disaster.

“He got an approval for a 15-storey building and he exceeded his limit. I am on ground here and the materials he used are so inferior and terrible.

“The materials he used, the reinforcement, are so terrible. He got approval for 15 floors but built 21.

“I think he has been locked down. He has been arrested before now,” he said..

Social media personality Dr Kemi Olunloyo has advised songstress, Tiwa Savage on how to handle the backlash which she presently experiencing following the leaked sex video between her and an unknown boyfriend.

Kemi, who is also a public relations expert, in a post on her Instagram page, said, instead of fighting, mocking and trolling bloggers, Tiwa should concentrate on educating her son on how to avoid backlash from classmates, teachers and parents, and also write formal letters to her brand endorsement companies, explaining what has happened, so as to avoid them not renewing her contracts.
The 57-year-old then advised Tiwa to desist from filming intercourse moments, adding that sex tapes don’t make one famous.

Nigerian rapper, Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana and comedian Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, have announced a memorial car procession to mark one year anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.

The duo took to their respective verified Instagram pages to share e-fliers of the car procession and the order of programme.

This comes shortly after both entertainers accused the Lagos Police Command of stifling their anniversary protest.

While Falz accused the government of hosting events to distract youths, Mr Macaroni berated celebrities for ‘eating’ government money despite the latter’s restrictions on the protest.

Sharing the e-fliers on their separate Instagram accounts, Falz and Mr Macaroni wrote, “It is impossible for us not to memorialize our fallen heroes. We will never ever forget.

Iconic Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, revealed during an interview with American OAP, Angie Martinez of Power 105.1, that she was being blackmailed by an unknown person who threatened to release a sex tape that featured her and her current lover.

The Koroba singer revealed that the blackmailer demanded money from her so as not to release the sex tape but she has decided not to pay the money.

A few hours ago, a sex tape leaked online. While the face of the man involved in it did not show, the lady in the video bears a close resemblance with Tiwa Savage.

As the video has gone viral, social media users on several platforms have taken to their accounts to air their opinion on the situation. Most of the comments have emanated from Twitter as the sonorous singer currently trends at the number one spot. So far, the issue has garnered over 61,000 tweets.

A user of the microblogging platform, Elder Seun, with the handle @iamseunalaofin, noted that despite the leaked video, the singer is an amazing person.

He said, “Because Tiwa Savage personal activities is exposed in public doesn’t make her different or less human than most of us. Tiwa is amazing as always and she should be celebrated for all she has done for African music!! Tiwa is not an angel so mistakes like this should be overlooked.” (sic).

Another Twitter user and influencer, @DrOlufunmilayo, in a thread, opined that the sex tape was leaked on purpose.
