It's a kinda a Mini Estate at Lakowe Lakes. It's instructive to note that this place is predominantly waterlogged all year hence the conventional system of waste management (Soakaway) will potentially fail here.

Here, the artificial wastewater evacuation will be adopted given the high water table. The soil lacks the capacity to absorb water.

So, we want to further deepen the slight knowledge you have about the workings of the Bio Digester Sewage System. First of all, the system is an onsite waste management technology that works by providing an enclosed environment for the natural decomposition of human solid waste. Now, how does the system performs this function?

The system performs this function through these 3 steps:

Rapid Separation of solid waste from wastewater.

Aerobic Decomposition of the solid waste

Bio-filtration of the wastewater.

Upon entry of the solid waste and wastewater (flush water) into the small constructed tank, the solid waste rapidly separates from the wastewater. Once that happens, the solid waste will be aerobically decomposed. What that means is, living organisms, which use oxygen, feed on the organic matter. Then, the last stage of the process is the bio-filtration of the wastewater (flush water). The wastewater is filtered through layers of activated charcoal, activated chippings. The wastewater is filtered just so it won't contaminate your groundwater. Upon filtration, it seeps into the ground.


Now, we have had people told or rather asked us that how could the small sized tank not filled up within the shortest possible time. The answer to this question is straightforward, clear-cut. The answer is, IT'S NOT A STORAGE TANK! IT'S A REACTOR TANK. The tank doesn't store waste like the conventional tank does. The tank merely holds the waste for decomposition to take place. And, that's ALL!

See, we have been in business since 2017, and so far, we had successfully installed well over 500 Bio Digester Sewage Systems across Nigeria. if this system didn't work, those we have done for in our early days must have had their tanks filled by now. The total dimension of the tank is just paltry 6×4×4 as against 10×12×10 for the conventional system. To put the mind of our clients to rest, we issue them a "Warranty Letter" that whatever happens to the system within the first 15years of installation, we take responsibility. Of course, this comes with some terms and conditions. And, as an afterthought, the system isn't just a yesterday thing. It's has been around since 2010 in India and some African countries. The good news is, the system has come to stay in Nigeria. More and more homeowners, architects, engineers, developers and builders have witnessed firsthand the pitfalls of the conventional system. They know that it's not sustainable, suitable for waterlogged areas, it degrades our environment, contaminates our groundwater, expensive and occupies so much space. This system defeats all these problems; the only shortcoming it has is, inorganic wastes (diapers, condoms, nylons, clothes, and sanitary wares) aren't to be flushed into it. Keep to this golden rule and have your system lasts for as long as your building stands.
