3RT Solutions hereby announces the Smart Campus Challenge for the Year 2013

The Smart Campus Challenge is an essay competition for students of Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria. The title of the essay is Adaptation of Technology in Teaching Learning and Life on Campuses in Nigeria.

The primary aim of this competition is to engage students in developing innovative ideas and concepts on how the use of technology would to enhance teaching and learning activities in their institutions. This is therefore an opportunity for students to contribute to the development of their institutions and achieve an improvement in the quality and capacity of the institutions

As we are all aware, the Educational Institutions in Nigeria are not where they ought to be in area of academic development, teaching methods and quality of outputs. Recent report on Global University rankings has shown that Institutions in Nigeria are currently not among the first 1000 in the world. One of the cardinal objectives of Smart Campus is to use technology to transform Nigeria institutions from into modern, effective and functional institutions acceptable by the best standards in the world. This would be through adoption of global best practices in technology for teaching and learning environment which include broadband communications facilities, enterprise systems, teaching and learning applications.

The contest is open to all students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria from 9th September 2012 and they are expected to submit their entries between 22nd September and 22nd October 2013. Submission would be via the Smart Campus website. Contestants are required to upload their essays with their biodata and contact details on the web page.

In developing the essay, the participants should consider the following:

Introduction. The opening should focus the reader’s attention on the subject of the essay in a thought provoking manner.

Thesis. clearly state the ideas the essay supports in an interesting way

Development Thoroughly support the thesis with vivid examples, narrations etc

Expression i.e. precise use of language, grammar etc

Unity of thought and Clarity

Creativity in the use of technology

and Originality of thought

Word Count 3500 +/- 10%

Winners will be awarded Gold tickets to the Smart Campus Conference and also awarded. Coca cola smart campus ambassadors. The top 3 essays will be awarded prices and their Institutions recognized.

1st Prize: iPad with cash prize of N100,000.00
2nd Prize: Laptop with cash prize of N50,000.00
3rd Prize: Blackberry with cash prize of N30,000.00

CD marketing , sales and distribution?

You must have a lot of money and structure to venture into this business in order to have artist want to do business with you. As an artiste they will want a distributor that will buy the CD copies outright and remit funds into their account. Different artistes have different arrangements with the various distributors we have in Alaba.

Some distributors are also called marketers , many of them do not market / promote your works they just distribute , so as a company you need to have a potent marketing strategy for each artiste project. Also a good distribution network , most especially if you are not situated in Alaba. Also have networks and connect across Nigeria and across Africa if your contract allows you to represent the artiste , promote and sell/distribute outside Nigeria , and outside Africa.


I cant say precisely how much it will cost , as you have requested for the cost but you need to have a website that enables you to promote the artistes online and also you need to spend money on branding to push the website e.g this boutique has a website to showcase their wears http://www.f3g1.com , but you have to visit the store to pick up and pay for the wears, what is your strategy

Infrastructure = alaba office to start with (Lagos landlords will collect 2 to 3 years for stores in Alaba)
Retailers = have existing relationship with retailers to push your CDs or setup retail outlets
Networking = You will spend money to network with industry heads attend gigs , industry nights to spread the word
Sponsorship = you will have to sponsor some gigs , album listening parties , mixtape launches etc to gain visibilty
CD printing = You will take the master copy to nira , chronotech or any registered CD plant in Nigeria , that will cost you money.
Website = This will cost you money if you want to have a good website to reflect your business brand
Posters , Flyers = ok i can give you a figure (btw 20,000 and 500,000 monthly depending on how many artistes you pushing)
Relliable Staffs = Salaries

You will have to spend time on twitter and also have the artistes you distribute their works to endorse your brand etc. I have to get back to what i was doing , there are so many things you have to do, so you need to have a deep pocket you know.
