Ur first question: yes. Many medical schools out of greed take it many students. If they want 70 students in year 2 for example, even if the student reached the normal cut off mark, they will raise it so that even those that passed before can fail.... In order to have 70 students move into the next level frm a total of let's say, 300. So 130 students can pass and be eligible to cross over, but they need 70. So 60 have to go one way or another. And it goes on like that to the next level.
I entered medical school into a class of about 600 students in year 1. I leave the rest to ur imagination.


Ur 2nd question: yes, but because a student didn't answer correctly, doesn't mean that student no sabi book o. In fact if them reset the questions again differently, the other person wey pass before fit fail, cos it's just too broad. And the teaching method in naija be like concentration camp.
Some topics that should take months to teach abroad can be taught in 2 weeks in Nigeria. Example is 'stomach and abdomen'. It can be taught in 2 weeks and u have to read everything.

I feel it ,they make medicine very stressful course,you attend lectures from morning till 3pm and the next day d lecturer is giving you shotgun giving when you hardly have time to cook,wash,read... lecturers crash a one month course in 5days.
In saner clime medical students are on scholarship,accomodated with free food,textbooks & laundry taken care of...so that they will not have any distraction.

In medical school, u have so many lecturers teaching u that u cannot pay for all.

And not all consultants will collect money, take note.


Even year 5 ( path and pharm) how many consultants do u want to sort? Or can u sort?

Many consultants even fear to pass any lazy medical students ( in fact the moment u fail and are eligible for a resit exam eh, they already see u as a failure).

Again, take note that even those that sort most times do so, not because they cannot pass.... But because there are limited slots to move to the next level.

At the end of the day u may find out that even those that sort may be even better doctors.

Cos everybody dey read like say tomorrow no dey for medical school.
