cardoctor: It's quite unfortunate that people that make defamatory comments like these exist here and he even laughed about it.
Not a very great tribute but it does have some elements of truth. I am a mechanic and I'm extremely proud of my profession because I believe I have all the knowledge and experience to handle any automobile issue hence my background as a qualified and certified Automobile Engineer with experience that spans three continents and over 37 years.
Thus said, yes we do have many unscrupulous elements parading themselves as Auto Technicians. Many of them dont have proper workshops or convenient work premises. They dont have adequate tools or equipments for the jobs they do. Very rudimentary set ups and they without hesitation will recklessly rip apart any unsuspecting victim and fleece them as an appended part of their trade. However, many of such victims usually seek cheap labour and minimal costs to parts (usually fake or substandard) to effect repairs on their cars believing all should be well. Familiarity and fairness on the first visit is the lure and over time becomes breach in trust, negligence and ignorance not forgetting incompetence. But thats what you get when you want cheap, unprofessional and unskilled labor. Most of these mechanics are illiterate to the discipline and ethics required for these tasks which are mostly complicated and requires a good level of knowledge of the operational principles of the Internal Combustion engine and the all its associated components before establishing a service provision platform. So you'll find out that most car owners are more educated via physical shadowed interactions and information on the Internet than the individual handling a repair job on their behalf.
The frustration is that most car owners don't want to get their hands dirty and most likely don't have the mechanical temerity to process the job hands-on or may possibly be a total layperson. That may also be ego attributed but thats the price you pay.
Back to terra firma, I have always maintained integrity and honesty as watchwords in my own professional conducts and have exhibited and conducted various challenging jobs in car repairs in 37 years of my career both home here in Nigeria and abroad in the Europe and the Middle East and I do know that certain jobs requires well grounded knowledge of car mechanics and particularly specific to the make and model of any car before ANY kind of repairs is attempted.
I as a professional have had my fingers burnt and disappointed by many third party associations and I have learned the hard way especially here in the climes of Nigeria. What I know now and understand is quite unbelievable and the dark side for those who don't know is treacherous and uncharted but I do make efforts in educating and keeping my clients informed on every single process of the repairs from diagnostics to completion. Still best to approach with caution by verifying content and capacity before engagement.

legallysly: Why not get acquainted with the Nigerian Criminal Justice system first before unleashing emotional vituperations?
Law accommodates no sentiments.
He can be arrested if he is reasonably suspected of having committed an offence. In this case, the EFCC's story is that its intelligence reports suggested that illegalities were being committed in the building.
Why not let us have ALL the facts before condemning the EFCC or the man now alleged to have committed murder? Man some of you are just educated !d!0ts. What do you mean by "Illegalities were being committed" . illegalities like what? If you cannot even pinpoint the financial crime which he was suspected of comitting or trying to comitt, then where is the "intelligence" . "Reasonable suspicion" needs to be based on verifiable information or specific and articulate fact, not unparticularised suspicion or a hunch, otherwise I could wake up and suspect you of assassinating Bola Ige or being a rapist. After an illegal breaking and entry the EFCC is now beating about the bush, coming up with all sorts of cock and bull allegations and fishing for evidence, none of which are related to any financial crime or within its jurisdiction . I wonder if you people realise how you sound sometimes |
Crime › Re: NMA Disowns Man Who Killed EFCC Operative In Anambra, Says He's An Impostor by bizzle2: 1:48pm On Jan 20, 2025 |
The fundamental questions the EFCC should be answering is What were they doing at his front door after scaling the fence at 3am? Was there a warrant for his arrest? Was he wanted for any offence ? You cannot just break into homes at will with no warrant and then start to fish for evidence to justify your criminality. Clearly they didn't knw him from Adam, neither were they there to effect his arrest. we are not in a banana republic there is a thing called rule of law. Even politicians who have stolen billions and have lawfully issued warrant of arrest again them do not have thier home raided gestapo style Being law enforcement does nt grant u unrestricted access to private property |

. what are you people smoking. We know Nigeria is a jungle but how do you enforce the law by breaking the law. An act that is illegal in itself cannot be perpetuated as "law enforcement ". otherwise it would defeat the concept of "rule of law" . it would be okay to commit murder in the process of acquiring evidence for a tax evader for instance. The question is What were they doing at his front door after scaling the fence at 3am? Was there a warrant for his arrest? Was he wanted for any offence ? Clearly they didn't knw him frm Adam. yoruboid: Stepper ni… and handover to who? Obi? The man who isn’t fit to lead an LCDA in Lagos where LCDA chairmen are building housing estates, schools and roads that are better than anything he ever did in Anambra
Tinubu has legacies other governors have built on in Lagos. He developed the road map for rail, Eko Atlantic, the Lekki FTZ which we can all see manifesting today
It takes a bold leader to do a quarter of the things PBAT has done
Anyone with an understanding of Economics can see that the reforms are yielding results
Jagaban will fix Nigeria
Even Obi and Atiku have had little to say about the economy any longer except times they just want to appear relevant
Make yourself available for the consumer credit scheme for purchase of made in Nigeria cars when it becomes available this quarter if that’s what you want
There are several opportunities under this administration When people see clowns like you talk with so much bravado they think you know what the F you're talking about . just noise, lies, noise and more lies. Results speak not useless buzzwords and fake figures. The true measure of governance is in HDIs , not IGR , not white elephant projects that have little to no impact on the life of the average citizen and not how many traditional rulers and heads you were able to pockets to sing your praises every 3 market days. Good governance is measurable .. We did A and B in this sector and it resulted in an improvement from Y to Z. That's assessment , not useless noise. Assess Tinubu by results he deliverd in ANY of the HDIs Education - Invested heavily in education and moved Anambra from 26th ranking to No1. Healthcare - Did so well he was awarded The Minda and Bill Gates price for MDGs in 2013. exponentially multiplied the access to primary healthcare, among several other things. Infrastructure - best rural road network, list is endless Security , it goes on and on etc. a long list of specific achievements are in the link below, read the lengthy thread and see achievements and delivery of good governance https://x.com/cousinray_/status/1579839359179948032?t=7lDnv6YUwpjsow41qTxA3w&s=19But your Amoda Ogunlere spent 8yrs drawing economic map, in a state that had been capital city for 70 yrs and already had ALL the key economic federal infrastructures situtated in it, while Obi in a state that was barely 15 yrs old was already delivering measurable results and dividends . The only thing Tinubu ever did was enrich himself and his cronies via hyper inflated white elephnat projects and the institutionalisation of thuggery in the SW because he needed the muscle to perpetually retain power . So please shut it with the lame comparison. There is ZERO basis |

nairalanda1: The output of 92000 bpd is in itself a fall from 400000 bpd in 1987.(in 1987, we refined 400000 bpd, by 2012, it was 92000 bpd, and by 2019 it was 6000 bpd.).
Also, by 2012, we were a net importer of fuel. Those 92000 BPD produced about 10% of the petrol we used in Nigeria.
Right now, we are coming close to where we were in 1987. Dangote is refining about 350000bpd, NNPC is refining 60000 bpd. We are also becoming an exporter of refined products thanks to Dangote...slowly, but we are getting there. (We weren;t even during the heyday of the 1980's).
It's not anything APC did, it is just that removal of subsides due to APC's running out of money is making domestic refining profitable again. What are you on about? somebody lied that no refining was going on during GEJ and OBj's regime and lauded Tinubu as a messiah who did what others didnt, and you're comaparing installed capacity in 1987 to production capacity in 2012. By the way, Nigeria had an "installed" capacity of slightly below 300bpd in 1987. APC in less than 10 yrs depleted a 90bpd production capacity to zero and you're yapping about a private refinery, one that the criminals in power have been actively trying to sabotage ? What does that have to do with inefficiency and the corruption in the sector ? |
