The policy that brought about whistle blowing states 5% of the recovered loot, so how is he greedy. EFCC are the greedy ones.

Find and read the policy before emphatically stating the remuneration payable. Or at least read the story posted by OP in detail. Payments are between 2.5% and and 5%, with 5% being the cap. The key determining factor is the amount recovered. The higher it is the lower the %. This is without prejudice to other parameters as may be determined by the Government. The policy is not an agreement but a framework which provides inter alia for payment yardsticks to be used in determining % payable.

If the lawyer believes he has a cause of action sustainable in law let him go to Court. By a simple Originating Summons he can ask the Court to determine whether or not his client is entitled to 5% under WB policy.

Let's read a bit more so as not to pass misleading information to other people who won't read.

Soon as I saw that whistle blower policy that entitles the informer to 5% of the proceeds of any recovered loot,I just knew that this goverment was full of shallow thinkers,perhaps more concerned with how to enrich themselves than make any meaningful contribution to the growth of this country.
An averagely intelligent goverment with officials that think or analyze a policy would have graded the reward system for the whistle blower thus:
Say recovered money from 50-100m,about 5%;
101-1billion,about 2.5%-2%
1b and above 1%
This way providing incentive to the whistle blowee,u dont end up making them overnight billionaires or even encourage people in same goverment to become rich through the backyard by using fronts to act as whistle blowers through information they acquired in their official working capacities,with intention to share the cash reward behind the scenes.

That s actually envisaged in the policy. But the current crop of Nigerians and media reporters don't bother with details. The policy says between 2.5% being minimum to 5% being maximum payable. Now the determination of % to apply for any given amount will be that of the policy makers. Like it's done in banks for asset recovery the higher the amount to be recovered the lower the %.
