The civic is the more durable option but I don't think your budget can get you a very good Nigerian used 2013 civic.
The elantra is also okay if you can get a low mileage and un-abused one.
Also, you will need a very good technician with modern tools to maintain anyone you go for.

I once got a caterpillar boot from a young man here, because it’s was a caterpillar product, I head to ikeja to meet this guy, I just gave him money and turned back without really bothering to check after seeing the pictures here, he has taken the pics from best angle, it was a big embarrassing moment for me when I checked the boot on my way home, I had to give it to some kids I saw on the railway track in yaba , they were happy and felt like I didn’t waste my money, I was really ashamed for the seller, even since then I never buy used shoe again.

The shoe was so bad , worn out, and this guy was even telling me his wife asked him not to sell it because it’s was his best shoe.
Very embarrassing for me, I felt molested .

Anyone know where one can get caterpillar boot for working on site?
