I'm quite familiar with ChapelHill . . . even got interviewed by Bolaji Balogun the founder ( and late Otunba Subomi Balogun's first Son) a year ago for a role there. It is unconscionable that the top investment banking firm in Nigeria would be tarred with this rubbish, and spread by half-baked internet trolls.

He is doing what he can do shaaa

But
He is not touching the right places IMHO
There are so many places in Lagos that are best known as "Trenches"
He has ignored all those places for years.
Instead he focused his attention on the places where the rich commonly live.
The best Governor of Lagos State would be the Governor who brings major developments to the "Trenches"

Though, Mr Sanwo Olu is doing the best he is capable of doing 😇✨

How many rich people live in Oshodi, Agbado, mushin, Oyingbo and other places the train line would pass through?

He doesn't give a f about what the lady does with her body, he knows she is for the street and not for keep, but he is only concerned about his kid.

It will be unw ise of Portable to complain about her going out or banging around, so he doesn't have a business in that but with his kid.

No serious man makes babies with a street girl . . . Portable is not a serious fellow, and deserves all He is facing right now.

A proof that no political party has only saints as members. I have repeatedly said that the quality of governance is not in the number of infrastructure built by a regime but in the regime's financial prudence and the economic viability of the infrastructure built by the regime. I started making this point when social media influencers were hyping the scam that was going on in Ebonyi State.

But the LP, among Nigerian political parties, has the highest number of good people. Most of the LP supporters criticise their bad flag bearers. Most of the supporters of the other parties never admit the corruption of their flag bearers, they even defend forgeries of certificate and gender. Those supporters of the other parties already dragging the entire LP and Obi under this post will not mention BAT and APC under the Sanwolu's post above.

Dows this self-audit also extend to that gentleman that graciously invested public funds in his family business for the 'good' of the people of his state?

Cos we all turned a blind eye to that nonsense.

It's now about who Prof Nwanchukwu that killed regional government. Thought it's Aguiyi Ironsi. Keep shifting the goal post.

When folks that are ignorant of Nigeria's history start blabbing, they aren't hard to spot.

Professor BEN NMAWBUEZE Drafted Unitary Document That Removed Regional System Of Government And Brought Nigeria 🇳🇬 Under One Federating Unit to Favour Aguyi Ironsi

Professor Ben Nwabueze, erudite constitutional lawyer, consummate and well-researched elder statesman drafted the unitary constitution thus abolishing the robust regional setup that made each region economically and politically viable. He abolished the regional governance because of General Aguiyi Ironsi who had just seized power after the gruesome murders of the prime minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, and others in 1966.

To ensure his grips on power, Ironsi used Nwabueze’s unitary document to bring Nigeria under one federating unit. It is intriguing that the same person whose document ended our regional experience is the same person crying for restructuring. What has happened that his beautiful policy is no longer an option but an oppressive tool? For us to take him serious, he must first apologise to Nigerians for abolishing the regional template.

“Of all the decrees enacted in Nigeria, none is more controversial than Decree No 34 of 1966. It was promulgated on May 24, 1966 by then Head of State, Major General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi (1924-1966). It was called Unification Decree while some critics at that time labelled it the De-unification Decree.

It was the decree that started the death of regionalism – an issue that is still generating controversy till now. Although the next head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, repealed the Decree 34 on August 31, 1966 through Decree 9, a large portion of the Decree is still effective till today.

General Gowon further compounded it by promulgating Decree 14 of 1967, which broke Nigeria into 12 states and provided for military governors for each state. With Decrees 34, 8 and 14 regionalism was finally buried.

On assumption of power, General Aguiyi-Ironsi promulgated the Constitution (Suspension and Modification) Decree 1966. Decree No 1 dated January 17, 1966 but not published in the Official Gazette until March 4, 1966. He then issued Public Order Decree No 33 dated May 24 1966, which dissolved 81 political associations and 26 tribal and cultural associations.

At the early stage of his tenure, he appointed a three-man advisory team made up of Chief Francis Nwokedi, a permanent secretary, Dr Pius Charles Nwabafor Okigbo (1924-2000) and Colonel Patrick Anwunah, who later became chairman and head of the Orientation Committee at that time.

This piece is for those who think the call for restructuring is a new idea, no, we had a well thought out governance template until Prof Ben Nwabueze truncated it with his unitary pooh pooh. This is setting the record straight otherwise he takes the glory of being a champion of a better Nigeria when in real sense he was the architect of a provincial and nepotistic leaning.

Politics / Re: I Thank President-elect Bola Tinubu For Creating Lekki Free Trade Zone- Dangote by BlackKafka: 10:31pm On May 22, 2023
ryloy:
LEKKI Free Trade Zone (LFTZ), the much celebrated multi-billion dollars bilateral business venture between Lagos State and the Chinese Investors has kicked off, with President Olusegun Obasanjo describing Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State as "a brilliant governor with brilliant ideas".

The LFTZ cited in Ibeju-Lekki local government area of the state, according to its managers, would occupy 1,000 hectares of land employing over 300,000 as workers on completion.

https://allafrica.com/stories/200605120070.html

Quick observation: if the Lekki FTZ was intended to create 300k jobs before the Dangote Refinery entered the mix, and the refinery is now claiming to create 100k jobs, we are looking at 400k+ jobs in total from the Lekki FTZ. Creating 400k+ new jobs in any other state in Nigeria would pretty much assure you god-like reverence in that state . . . think Osun, Ekiti, Ebonyi, Abia, Kogi, Cross River, Edo, Delta etc.

Delta that started off so well is now the southern hub of Keke-Riders and Hookup babes.

Also interesting that this is exactly what Tinapa was meant to accomplish, but Donald Duke's successors didn't follow through, so I guess there might be some merit (even if flawed) to a single party with unity of purpose controlling a state for the long term. I mean the Lekki FTZ has taken 18 years to come to fruition . . . Just imagine if Tinapa had succeeded! So many lost opportunities . . . makes me really sad.

Listen boys and girls, this is how you govern a state to prosperity . . . not by investing public funds in your personal brewery and supermarket, and claiming you did the people you were governing a favour.

I don't think you're as smart as you think you are. How did you manage to reduce the statement there to a threat to the judges families by the poster while excluding the stated instrument of threat embedded in the statement.?. If you say he threatened the judges, therefore you agree that the APC and Buhari cum Tinubu are instruments to deliver harm.

Secondly, I don't think you know the meaning of emotional. If you do, you'll understand the Southeast has never been emotional in political support of a candidate. Rather, the Southwest is a region that it's people can NEVER reason objectively. Thier decisions are always clouded by emotions. Besides arears that voted on religious sentiments, point one state that Tinubu won outside the Southwest !!!.

Igbos are pompous no doubt but not emotional. Especially on issues with serious consequences like politics. On the other hand, you can't separate the Yorubas from Tribalism, betrayal and cowardice. It's a known fact to the rest of Nigerians.

At the very end of Marina (almost opposite the Governor's resident), there is a Lagos State owned IPP that has been there since Fashola was Governor that powers all the street lights, general hospital and other Lagos state facilities in that axis. I also understand there is another IPP that powers the Lagos State Secretariat, and the Senior State Quarters opposite MKO Gardens. I'm fairly certain they would find a way to make it work.
