Politics › Re: Court Replays El-Rufai Interview In NSA Phone Tapping Case by BlackKafka: 7:11am On Jun 23 |
jmoore: How is an interview a proof of tapping? The prosecutor team are really dumb!
Zero intelligence!
To prove tapping, you have to provide tangible evidence like the tapped audio. An individual's testimony—including a verbal or written confession—can be used against them in court without physical evidence. In both civil and common law jurisdictions, a voluntary confession made by a defendant is considered highly potent evidence. For testimonial evidence to lead to a conviction, however, it usually must meet a few specific legal conditions: 1. Voluntariness: The confession must be made freely, without threats, coercion, or improper inducements (like promises of leniency). Statements given under duress are typically inadmissible. The man ran his mouth on national TV of his own volition2. Witness Credibility: In cases relying purely on eyewitnesses or unrecorded verbal statements, the judge or jury must find the witness exceptionally credible. The alternative here is to label El-Rufai a liar - he would need to publicly admit he lied at the very least - he hasn't.3. Procedural Safeguards: Authorities usually must follow standard procedures (such as administering a legal caution or informing the individual of their right to remain silent and to have an attorney). If these rights are violated, the testimony may be thrown out. He did it of his own volition.4. Corroboration: In many jurisdictions, a court may require some level of circumstantial or foundational proof that a crime actually took place. Hopefully, the government can provide corroborating proof, but this is not a compulsory factor. |

So he probably wants to establish a fact that he is truly an Ijebu prince and a bonafide member of the family. Even if you don't select me as the next awujale, don't destroy my image, lineage and the future of my children. That's how I see it. I have confidence in that 'small' Sterling Bank no be small. LOL. Sterling is barely a tier 2 bank. It used to be peers with Wema, FCMB, Fidelity dem, but they have since left it in the dust. Even SCB and Providus (a relatively new bank) cannot be said to be peers with Sterling. |
Business › Re: 19 Banks Meet New Capital Requirements Ahead Of March 31 Deadline (names) by BlackKafka: 6:04pm On Jan 08 |
Odidigboigbo: Sterling Bank is a “quiet big bank.” Don’t be surprised if they acquire any of the banks that are yet to meet the requirements, just like when they acquired Equatorial Trust Bank, which came as a surprise to many. They also recently floated a new bank called AltBank. No offence intended but there are insurance companies that comfortably post Sterling's PAT in a year. Also, they didn't "swallow " ETB: Adenuga was the biggest shareholder in both banks and simply merged them together cos he was being pressured to let go of his hold in financial services (owned and operated ETB and Devcom concurrently). Till this very day, Adenuga is the single largest shareholderin Sterling Bank. |

Nteogwuija: Which coolant would u guys recommend? Cuz most coolants I see look like colorings added to water. Check your car manual or google online. Different colours of radiator coolant are meant for different applications. The pink coolant is standard for Toyota cars from 2014 upwards. Also, never ever mix different types of coolants - it would mess up your engine. If you are unsure of what coolant is in your car, drain the radiator before inputting. |
Car Talk › Re: How Nigerian Drivers Destroy Their Car Engines Without Knowing It by BlackKafka: 2:17am On Dec 23, 2025 |
Vision101: Water for coolant? Coolants come in small containers and expensive. The cost will be heavy if you use only coolant because of the volume that will fill the radiator. I usually use water and add one or two cans of coolant. Chain. For God's sake, how much is coolant? 5k for a vehicle that costs millions is not too much to spend, but hey, what do I know. |

As If Ican automatically guarantees you a job.
In a country where even ph. D holders struggle to get employment.
Dey play! Demand vs Supply As someone who has managed HR in a number of blue-chip firms, I would tell you for free that chartered accountants ARE always in demand. If you are chartered, have a 2.1, and are under 26 maximum, you are almost guaranteed to get a decent paying job. Likewise if you have by a stroke of luck passed 3 papers of the Actuarial certification, or 2 levels of CFA, you have VERY strong prospects of getting a great starting job in insurance and finance. Even in America, if you have a B.SC in Gender Studies, just prefer to become a Bartender or Barrista cos you aint going nowhere. |

Neduzoma123456: This is wrong , some people here supporting the school are business and shop owners who still pay dia workers 15-20k monthly.
This is very wrong... While I agree that the school owners need to do better, the school business is not necessarily as lucrative when you look at their finances up close. My Son's class had 12 kids paying about 250k per term. Each class has a Teacher and a Teaching Assistant. Say we pay them 70k and 50k respectively, the wage bill comes up to 520k every term approximately (i.e. 2 Kid's fees). Factor in cost of diesel, security, cleaners, taxes, licensing fees payable to the government, as well as cash reserves in the event that enrollment drops the next term, and you have a Cost-Income-Ratio of about 60 - 70% (i.e. the Proprietor only walks away with the fees of about 3 students in a class of 12 as net gain every term. |

I still give kudos but seriously not impressed. Building railways require a bit of experience . . . in building railways. How many railways have been constructed in Nigeria to date to allow for local expertise to be developed? |
Autos › Re: Carmart.africa: A Popular Place To Sell Your Cars Quickly At Zero Cost by BlackKafka: 4:22am On Jul 26, 2024 |
10thTenthMan: So I will simply tell you the process and when you go, you decide based on your experience.
-When you get to their office you tell them if you want to sell or buy a car.
-You, want to sell.
-They will request for the Car Papers. All Papers must be complete for the deal to go through.
-Then they assign a technician to inspect the car. The one I met was a lady in their VI Office. She was good. In fact she identified some minor things I didn’t know were wrong with my SUV.
- Then the technician gives feedback on the results of the inspection.
- You car is then entered into a bidding process. You will see a TV with a sort of table/Chart with prices coming in as bids. The bid lasts for a specified period. Can’t remember whether 15 minutes or 30 minutes.
-Then the highest amount on the bid board is what they will tell you that they will pay.
-Cars45 bidding board stopped at 1,000,050 naira. My 2008/2009 Highlander SUV was 1,000,050. One million and fifty thousand naira only.
-Now I wasn’t selling the car because it had issues. I just wanted to change the car because I felt I deserved a new and wanted to use the money from the sales and boost my funds for a new car. That way I can expand my options.
- I jejely took my car and went home. Went on some sites and posted it myself. put for sale sign on it and informed friends in groups etc.
-Sold it for 3m and rested.
To me o, that bidding is not real. Those figures aren’t real. To me, those figures are manipulated. To me o, some boys are in the office pressing figures with claim that people are bidding for the Cars. You cannot grossly under value a car today and sell it 3 times the price it was sold to you, by tomorrow. No!
Give them a try. Perhaps your experience might be different. But to me they grossly undervalued my vehicle. Cars 45 is for folks desperate for quick cash, not people who have options. I learnt this when I bought my car there 4+ years ago. |
