You wouldn't have said it better Bonny produces very little oil and gas but gas is pipped from all the LGAs in Rivers( I don't know about Abia) to Bonny. So Bonny was primarily chosen as the location for export of the Gas from 23 LGAs in Rivers not that Bonny owns the gas.

A principal difference between Rivers Oil and Akwa Ibom oil is that in Rivers the oil is mostly onshore. You have locations where you see flow stations, oil Wells etc. In Akwa Ibom all their oil is mostly on the Atlantic ocean. They cannot relate to oil spills and gas flaring and destruction to the habitat. If not for advanced drilling technology, they wouldn't be an oil producing state. They don't know anything about unrest arising from degradation of your environment and means of livelihood. They just hear about these things and make an opinion as people who haven't felt the pinch before.

The free trade zone just approved by FG includes Oro territory.

The ibibio are too greedy and are not fostering brotherliness , even Akpabio who is from annang did not rule in peace because they were always on his neck. Akpabio handed over to ibibio instead of Oron due to pressure .

The seaport was relocated from Mbo to Ibeno for political reason to spite the Oros. What is happening in akwa ibom is too bad and one day it may come back and bite the ibibio in the ass because what goes around comes around . The Eket,Ibeno and Oros are marginalized. the Eket have just accepted to be slaves unlike the Oros who stand up for themselves.
So because Oron don't identify as Ibibio which they are not , is that a reason to marginalize them? The truth is that Oron and even Eket should have remained in Cross river because they don't fit in Akwa ibom and are not happy being there .it looks like they are just tolerating . but I heard babangida only put them in akwa ibom because no bridge .
In life you can't fit a square peg in a round hole . I feel Oron aligns more with the Efiks while annang and ibibio align . it's the same thing in Igbo land, Imo and Abia align, Anioma and Anambra align , Enugu and ebonyi align. Also the same in Yoruba land.

Brother it seems you're not familiar with the topography of Akwa Ibom, look below, Oro nation occupies just a fraction of Akwa Ibom coast, ibeno,ikot Abasi,eket and eastern obolo belong to different ethnic groups. The current Ibom sea port is at ibeno.
In Akwa Ibom we try our best to spread development, the major reason eket/edit eket/ibeno are enjoying is because they identify as ibibios when it comes to politics,Oro is usually antagonistic and they don't have the numbers to do anything.

One thing I like my state is that we don't wait for FG to intervene, if we can do it ourselves we do it, peep our airport,airline,stadium and other projects, akpabio could have done alot more with that money when oil was very high, at a time Akwa Ibom monthly allocation was the same with that of the SE but idk what akpabio was doing honestly, however he tried given where the state was but he could have easily done more. Our seaport is being held back by the FG because they're not giving the necessary approvals that we need, what their beef is with eastern sea ports i don't know. God will see us through but we also need to work.
