The funny thing about the Lucifer complaints and maybe Desire is that it's the non comic readers who don't know fvvk about The Sandman universe that complains Wokeness. grin grin

Lucifer is androgynous and can appear as he wants. Same as Dream.
She acted the Lucifer role perfectly and I wasn't disappointed. I say this having read some of the original comics.

i mean you can say that you didn't like the series because of the gay characters but dismissing it as trash is offensive because the show is highly comics accurate. Even some dialogue like when death was telling dream that she was there when the first life came to being and would be there when the last leaves, put the chair on the table and lock the universe. Like word for word accuracy. This is why I was highly defensive of the series. Nothing much was changed from the comics and people are still hating

I can confirm I was more excited for a second season before episodes 7-10

As for the LGBTQ iish, there have been other shows with it...but here it was almost as if 90% of the cast was gay, trans or non binary

I agree that for you EP 1-6 was your definitive season ending hence your distaste for 7 upwards. But bar the increase gay scenes, aren't intrigued by what desire meant by he would draw blood or azareal wanting revenge.

C'mon you are exaggerating, only 9 people were gay in the series, the barons son and his husband, Corinthian, vortex roommate, boogieman, one of the serial killer, Johanna and her girlfriend, and the owner of the hotel. Aren't you going to complain about having sex and a child for a ghost or is it because they are straight?

I never dimissed it cos of the gay scenes, where they unnecessary? Yes. but its Netflix, everyone should expect that from them posturing LGBTQ+ propaganda from them. I'm rating low cos the end was a letdown from the mini-finale in episode 6.

Episode 6 was more of a finale that episode 10.
I wasn't talking about you, it was the others that their only bias was because of the LGBT scenes. You gave your criticism which I read through. EP 6 was the finale no doubt but ask yourself this had it ended there, would you be as excited as you are to see a second season? EP 7 -10 was setting up a second season. Besides they haven't cast derilium, destiny and destruction

I'm all saying, the entire season 1 wasn't glued perfectly in my opinion, 1-6 felt glued together and 7-10 felt glued together. That's just my view.
Hey, I am not saying it was perfect, even i felt like it was a two parter not firmly glued together with the first half been the better half, all i am saying is that there is a plot thread linking the two halfs(desire and Corinthian). My issue is dismissing a series because of one or two gay scenes, that's not criticism but bias.

Either the director is an amateur or he/she tried an experiment which wasnt really successful. Even if 7-10 was plot- driven, you can just abandon the plot from episode one and then dump it on us in ep. 7, there should be continuity so the viewer doesnt feel like he/she is watching another show( cos that's how I felt) .
if I remember correctly, EP 1 was all about stopping the Corinthian and him wanting independence, meaning he wanted dream dead. EP 2-6 showed him trying but failing, EP 7 through 10 was him finding out that there was something that could destroy the dreaming world hence giving him the ability to physically kill dream. I would agree that song was a drag, i skipped all of it, i no get energy for d nonsense grin.
Also worth noting is either in EP 4 or 5, desire was trying to comfort their twin by causing trouble for dream. Meaning there is a plot line to close which 7-10 did, by showing it was desire all along pulling the strings, who is to say it wasn't desire that made the baron want to capture death knowing fully well dream would be d victim?

The Sandman

The entire season one felt like two shows to me. The first 5 or 6 episodes could have been called season 1 and I would have been okay with it.

That 7 - 10 felt like another show, and what was it with the singing of the owner of the Bnb, I just dey fast forward.

I felt they should have started the ending story from first episode, with teasers here and there so the last 3 episode doesnt look like another show.

I do have a question though,(for those who have seen the show) did that woman had to die? Yes it was writing in her life's work that she was to be you-know-what. If the thing that makes them the 'wahala' could be removed , why couldn't it be destroyed in itself instead of her taking it in and it killing her.

I would definetly recommend the first 5 or 6 episode though.
Overall: 6.5/10,
What i think is that it can't be destroyed without it bearer, if you remember the woman was destined to be the vortex, just that desire manipulated events to make her grand daughter one. Besides the librarian already said the vortex cannot be controlled, stopped but killed, implying that they have been attempts to do it without killing

Aside the Gray Man, I haven't seen any of those shows or movie you mentioned. I don't even know who Ozark is because I haven't watched the show or movie he or she or it featured. So now let me tell you this my simple minded dweeb, go fvck yourself and your opinions too. Now pass off.
Funny how you don't even watch anything from Netflix yet claimed that everything they put out has LGBT written on it grin

Like I said just follow the things that is trendy and complain cheesy. That insult is basic af, only a toddler resort to insults when faced with facts, have a nice day wink

The Sandman.

So now any and everything Netflix put their hands on must have LGBTQWXYZ on it. Jeez.
Homie be acting like Ozark, the gray man, sea beast, blonde, hustle etc has LGBT characters. You just want to complain and follow things that are trendy

rest ...I didn't even mention Desire sef

And besides you conveniently ignored all the other points I raised aside the LGBTQ issues
Okay, let me give my pov on the entire episode. EP 1 through 6 were all character driven showing the growth of sandman from his hatred to his compassion for humans.

EP 7 through 10 was plot driven, showing how the family of endless interact with one another. The girl power moment you mentioned, i still don't understand, was it that the dream vortex was a woman or him realizing he wasn't omniscient and asking his librarian for help you call girl power. Can you conveniently show me a moment where the female characters were shown to be more powerful than dream bar death.

Desire, I get him been non-binary, I mean of course desire covers both genders, but it was as though half of the cast was gay.
Yeah, i agree that a bunch of the cast were LGBT but they all had like one scene nothing else. But folks out here are just blowing it out of proportion or making it a parameter as to wether the series is worth a watch or not.

I don't want to know or care to know

Anything LGBTQ is a no no...
Especially when it's forced
cheesy this statement clearly shows you know nothing about gaiman's sandman's comic book. Desire is a non binary character in the comics not the show forcing it down your throat. If you have issue with the original writing, i advice you don't criticize the work since it's not your cup of tea, just move on there are many shows out there

Too many gay characters... someone complained on reddit that it was almost the entire cast that was gay or trans
tell me you don't know about Neil gaiman's work without telling me you don't know about his work. FYI, Desire is non binary before you call it woke.

Wow, it's like you watched this series with one eye closed. I did advice you to rewatch EP 6 from the 12th - 14th minutes with loud volume. But if you don't want to lemme explain.
1. Death knew they were after her, meaning she knew her brother was captured. All the endless knew dream was captured. This was what angered him none of them came to rescue him. That was why he decided to ask Hecate rather than his siblings for help in recovering his tools back.
2. All the endless has work to do and can't interfere with one another work, though some find it fun to be a disruptor but they would never do something that will kill their siblings. Desire always know that whatever he does dream would not be harmed but he does this to provide fun for despair. Read where the actor talks about their character. The previous despair committed suicide and this current despair has suicidal tendency hence why they always plot against dream
cont'd
3. In EP 6, death literally said she can't be there for everyone during their death, they will all come to her realm like how everyone comes to the dreaming world while asleep. So that's the reason she didn't take the baron plus those people are after her so why risk been captured?
4. Lucifer depicted as woman is nothing wrong unless you are all those that finds a fickle as woke, Lucifer is known to be a f***king shape shifter, so been a woman, man, snake, statue is nothing. He can be depicted as anything not compulsory a man.
So if that's why you gave the show a 6, with this four points of mine you can as well add four more points to your rating lol.

The Sandman 6/10. It has good storyline, excellent language and nice plot.

However, there are some plot mistakes. For example if the duty of death is to take dead people to the afterlife, why didn't she take Baron when his son killed him?
If she did, why didn't she see her brother (Dream) that was captured?
If she did see him, why didn't Dream see her?
Secondly, for a woman to be the first Can Helsen in the 1600s shows poor research from the writer or director
A woman being Lucifer is also a no no.
In conclusion, wokeness killed the Sandman

At least it did not bomb like The Suicide Flop

Calm down, I am not trolling. The pandemic has created dynamic parameters to what studios considers flop, TSS may have underperformed but it is not a flop. Remember hbomax is more profitable than disney plus but is disney plus a flop?

B.O numbers is not the parameter for a movie success, it is "a" though.

Many a movie underperforms in the B.O but makes up for it in the ancillary market.

Shang Chi in normal clime making $300m at the b.o would had been considered a flop but now it isn't. Just so you know without China Shang chi won't reach $400m (I will be shocked if it does)
