Career / Top Instagram Stories Take Over Tips - Social Media Management by BlackWriter: 11:12am On Jul 31, 2018
Hey guys,

We are in the digital era and things have definitely changed. Now you can comfortably sit at home with your mobile phones and make cool cash through social media management and influencing.

As a social media influencer, I get to do Instagram takeovers. When done properly, brands notice you and of course this can translate to cash.

I wrote a blog post about this and shared my tips on how to do it successfully.

Excerpts from the blog

"Who agrees with me that social media is God’s gift to businesses. Especially small businesses and homegrown businesses? It has become one of the best business tools as it offers a free platform for advertising, engagement and community building. It has literally opened doors and direct communication lines between businesses and customers. And like we all know, this is what sells. The engagement, exposure, and human influence.

Of all the social media channels, Instagram seems to be more visually oriented hence the reason why it’s a favourite amongst business owners. It gives them an opportunity to create a visual voice. Of all its features, Instagram stories are mostly used because it’s sort of a hall pass. With everyone curating a well planned and cohesive feed, who doesn’t want a space to just post on the go. And the best part? It lasts just 24 hours although there’s an option to highlight it. Oh well, you get the drift."

BlackWriter:
Smoothies are really fun ways to eat fruits and veggies. They are like meals in a cup, thick creamy and yummy meals. They are also interesting ways to eat healthily or combine healthy options. The best way to make it very healthy is by doing it yourself, that way you can keep track of what goes in. I’m really excited about writing this recipe because dates (Dabino) is my newly found love. Growing up in the Southern part of Nigeria, date (Dabino) wasn’t a popular nut option. Since moving to Abuja and being introduced to dates, it’s okay to say I'm a little bit obsessed now. It’s so sweet, healthy and has a lot of benefits. If you're a Northerner I’m sure you know this already. It’s one of the healthiest nuts, a natural sugar, an aphrodisiac and many more. So lately I’ve been trying to create a lot of recipes with this wonderful nut and I came up with this banana date (Dabino) smoothie. Bananas are pretty amazing for smoothies and one of my favourites as well.

Ingredients

*singing*... These are a few of my favourite things...dates...almond milk...bananas… (Ps. The sound of Music is still my all time favourite) Oh, the thought of this combination is already making me dream of a tropical vacation. You know, lying in my hammock, listening to birds, enjoying the breeze and sipping my smoothie. Oh the good life, ‘better thing sweet me’

Let’s dive in! You’ll need:

Dates
Bananas
Almond milk
Oats (this is sort of the secret ingredient. It adds texture to the smoothie and it is optional)
Note: I didn’t specify measurements because of individual preference for this particular banana date (dabino) smoothie. Smoothies should be fun and enjoyed the way you choose; datey, creamy or milky.

Preparations

If using dry dates, soak it for 24 hours to get it moist. For fresh dates, just wash and remove seeds.
Slice the bananas for easy blending.

How To Make It

Pour the almond milk into a blender or food processor.
Add the required quantity of dates into the milk and blend to make a puree.
Add the bananas to the puree and blend until smooth.
Add the oats to the mixture. You can either blend further or let it soak for 2 minutes.
Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy.

Voila, there you have it! Make this yummy goodness in just a few minutes and thank me later. I use almond milk because I find it a more healthy option compared to regular processed milk. I hope you enjoy making this smoothie as much as I enjoyed sharing the recipe with you.

You can also shop date syrup from Nkataa. It’s a good addition to smoothies and parfaits.
