Dam Dam is now one of the lucky youth to escape this painful country, wish I had put all the money I had this year into Japa, maybe I would have been in Canada, US, or UK by now... went from having millions to being broke in a year due to naira devaluation and inflation issues.
I trust and know that God will make a way for me, as He's already doing. And 2025 will surely be a better year for me. |

adeoyekay: I can't blame you cus there is no different in cooking at home and eating outside
Even eating outside is still better, if you are to do the cooking on your own could you imagine how much you would have spent. Cooking you say? Oya calculate the cost of gas, oil, veg. oil, pepper, tomato, onion, maggi, and other ingredients to the list. You'll also need to buy more quantity of raw food items, such as rice, beans etc, at a greater cost. The overhead cost of cooking at home is very high too, but at least you'll eat like a king before the next sapa Bien merci. |

Politics › Re: 125,000 Barrels Per Day Warri Refinery Goes Live by BlackyOne: 2:07pm On Dec 30, 2024 |
HostMyCode: The Warri Refinery in Nigeria has officially gone live, now processing 125,000 barrels per day (b/d). This marks a significant step in Nigeria’s effort to enhance domestic oil production capacity, reduce reliance on imports, and boost the country's energy security. The refinery’s reopening is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy and create job opportunities in the region. This milestone also reflects Nigeria’s ongoing investment in revitalizing its oil infrastructure. U nor get sense normally, kyari said it's not 100% complete. But you're saying it's producing 125k bpd!... That is the installed capacity, not the operating capacity, I doubt it it has ever produced up to it's installed capacity since when it was commissioned, not to mention now that the technology behind the refinery is very old. Use your head and reason for once in your life! |

Bookhub: Wizkid family owns a house in surulere an expensive place in Lagos, they don't live on rent, wizkid went to Babcock university, as at 2011 when wizkid was a student the school fees was around 2milion naira . at the moment 2million is still a huge sum of money talkless of then, average famiies in Lagos enrol their children in higher institutions like unilag, yabatech, laspotech etc but wizkids parents wants him to go to a private school,we all know poor kids don't go to private higher institutions unless via scholarships. I notice people call wizkid a poor boy only when they want to shade Davido Nigerians can be very sentimental. What is your goal in life? |

EmperorCaesar:

Lagos is almost like Asaba. Na why i prefer Ibadan be this. Well-spaced apartments with fair prices and the Agent fees are always reasonable
You'd spend more to rent a Self-con in Lagos than you'll ever spend to get a 2bedroom flat in Ibadan or a mini flat in Ogun
For most remote workers that are of SW origin, a large percentage of them prefer IB or Ogun to Lag. The obsession to live in Lagos isnt there because from an economic POV, you're spending more on things of same comparative value, especially if you are in an area with 33kva constant power supply. So, Why Lagos ?
Spits Very few areas in Ibadan can boast of good electricity and those places are also expensive ( not as Lagos though). Most areas in Ibadan are without electricity. |

This evening, I encountered a scammer. He asked me to pay a registration fee before meeting me. This person, whom I met online, sent me an account number and insisted I pay the fee first so he could collect the key to the house before meeting me.
I told him to collect the key and let me know where to meet him, assuring him I would pay the fee even before seeing the house. However, he refused to agree, clearly exposing his scam.
Beware of Lagos agents! I could even hear his children playing in the background—this is a grown, married man with kids. |

I like the competition, we need more refinery! Just imagine Warri and kaduna refinery starts operation, and BUA refinery comes onboard, they will be begging Nigerians to buy petrol and even earn more foreign exchange for Nigeria by exporting, thereby reducing the USD pressure on the naira. The naira will gain value too.
We need self sufficiency first, and then exports. |
