PoliticsRe: Lagos IGR Greater Than All Five SE States IGR Plus Federal Allocations by Blazetrailer: 10:30pm On Nov 11, 2024
This post must be from a dunce

You are bragging about what your agemates collect and loot to better their lives and that if their future generations while you languish in poverty.

And i am from Lagos state, so you dont neing any tribal issue to it. I know because of privileged info when i was in the state civil service that half of the IGR goes into private pockets.

So what are you bragging about?

RevDesm0ndJuju:
Lagos generates around #30bn monthly from IGR.

Anambra , the wealthiest SE state can only generate about #2bn.

At best , SE states can generate at most #10bn monthly . This is an over estimate as we know they can't generate more than 6-7 billion naira in combination monthly.

Now add whatever they get from FAAC and we can safely say the region can not boast of more than #10bn monthly .

With over 50-60 million population, this is down #2,000 per month for each Ibo. That translates to roughly #70 per day for each Ibo .

Now you wonder why they have their eyes set on Lagos and crime.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Govt Directs ₦5.4 Trillion Subsidy Savings Toward Nationwide Development by Blazetrailer: 10:19pm On Nov 11, 2024
Lol...this is the type of Bulaba economics that Tinubu is practising.

Thinking that the inflation in Nigeria was caused solely by the ways and means of Buhari government is myopic. It's akin to the same thinking of both the Finance Minister and the CBN governor who came out boldly to say that Naira would only experience depreciation for one or two months but would bounce back to N700/N800 if they floated it. Naira is approaching N2000 after 18 months and counting.

There are other critical factors that contribute to inflation other than money in circulation. Stating that inflation would go down automatically once more money is taken out of circulation is for simpletons

DomPerignon:
That volume of cash is better off being removed from circulation to undo the fiat printing of Emefile.

We have #50 Trillion in cash floating out there with over 70% of that volume printed from thin air by Emefile & Sons Printing Press that was mismanaging our monetary policy in the CBN.

Get rid of that excess cash and see inflation come down fast.

You still have a dual exchange rate now. CBN is still subsidising the black market if you do not know.

PoliticsRe: MBF To Tinubu: Rethink Subsidy Removal, Naira Devaluation by Blazetrailer: 6:26pm On Nov 11, 2024
This is completely wrong

Propserity of countries is not measured by their budgets but by GDP, GDP per capaita, NI per capita and other similar indices.

Country A might use expansionary budgeting approach where such budgets are funded by loans ans other obligations while another country B may chose a conservative balanced budget approach where it spends just as much as it earns.

COMPAQ:
The policies could have been done better, but those subsidies HAD to go!! Simply unsustainable. We are a poor country!

Most people who read this will say what about our oil riches...

How is South Africa with no oil able to have a budget of $133bln, while ours, even with our plenty oil is $32bln

Even Egypt that has never been know as an oil giant has a budget of N98bln

This oil has made us damn lazy for the last 40 years!! And while other countries have built industries in key areas that generate tax and export revenue...not to talk of tourism, Nigeria crossed its legs and went to sleep as the oil flowed.

I am an African butbsont believe in hand outs, especially when Africans fail to do the proper things.

For example, Nigerian leaders know that with improved power, the exonomy of the country will blow up and development of the country will ne certain. They claimed they have little resources but their priorities were presidential jests, new luxurious cars for the President, his wife and otherd runnibg into billions of naira but such money could have been used to improve the power supply which has collapsed more than 10 times this year alone. They then want other countries where their leaders prioritised power supply for development while flying commerial airlines and use regular cars as official cars to pay them reparation as a way to bail them out. China never developed like that they faced their issuesnans bited in the bright people to lead them, not drug barons and looters.

Choose right ans reosrstions may not even be needed. China does not ask any country for reparation for past slavery, they are even the ones lensing money to their former colonial masters now.

I want to believe your username has something to do with your thinking capacity. For your knowledge,

The English were once enslaved and colonised

The Romans(present day Italy) were once slaves to the Byzarntine

The Germans were ince colonised and enslaved by the Saxons

Ireland were once colonised and enslaved by the Anglo Saxons
The Chinese were once slaves to both the Japanese and the Mongolians
The slavics were once slaves to the saxons

Slavery and colonialism had been in existence for long so not peculiar to Africa. However, while the countries I used as exsmples above have moved on in development and tried to face their challenges only Africans are still loudmouthing slavery and seeking for pittance and hand outs in the name of reparation while looting their commonwealth to take back to these same countries rhat they caimed enslaved them.

It is obvious to me you are a lout, who does not seem to understand or read beyond what he sees in newspapers, henxe your limited perception. Go and read about post colonial givernments innAfrica in the book tiltled "The State of Africa" by Martin Meredith and you will understand why and how Africans sold themselves out to emcourage slavery.

PoliticsRe: Tinubu Will Win 2027 Election – APC by Blazetrailer: 7:32pm On Nov 10, 2024
One of the few posts with sense out of the millions on nairalad.

Say whatever you want to say, the North holds the key to electoral success in Nigeria. Not realising this is usually the beginning of failure. Tinubu realised this as far back as 2007.

I have told many people this, Obi can not win any election unless he teams up with a powerful or powerful politicians in the North who can pull numbers and the only person with that stature right now is Atiku. Atiku can not deputise for Obi and the noeth wont leave a muslim in Tinubu(no matter how they perceive him as a fake muslim) to vote Obi as the lead candidate. Obi had to deputise unfortunately.

Without this, I am afraid Tinubu will have an easy ride, he does not even need to rig the elections.

casualobserver:
No they trust the incompetence, buffoonery, ineptitude and ego of the opposition.

The formula to defeat APC is known to all, Atiku and Obi should join hands. But they won’t for the same reason they didn’t in 2023. And so they will split the votes and blame rigging.

In a 3 horse race, the only person that can get 25% in 2/3rds of states is Tinubu and APC.

Instead of giving excuses in advance to your candidates for an election that hasn’t happened why don’t you tell your candidates that they must find a way to work together?

The reason Atiku and Obi will both run seperately and lose again is because you their supporters don’t hold their feet to the fire for wasting your votes on the egos.

They tell you it is rigging and you like fooools that you are swallow it and parrot the rigging narrative. What incentive then is there for any of them to swallow their ego and join hands when they know they can count on your vote?

I’m happy with Tinubu but if you are not then you deserve your unhappiness because you are not holding the people who can remove Tinubu to account for wasting your votes in 2023 and for planning to waste it again in 2027!!!!

If Atiku and Obi know they are not getting their party ticket unless it is a joint ticket, they will find a way to work together.

The truth is Obi is unelectable, even if Atiku steps down for him he will lose. The North will look at Tinubu v Obi and realize their interests for the next 4 years are best served backing Tinubu. Atiku’s votes will go to Tinubu then go to Obi. The man who needs to step down if you want to defeat Tinubu is Obi……but he won’t.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Will Win 2027 Election – APC by Blazetrailer: 7:18pm On Nov 10, 2024
Unfortunately, this is most likely. As painful as it sounds APC will likely win again even without rigging for the following factors

1. The people are too stupid and the politicians know this so few months before the election, they will oump out money and propaganda and the gullible ones will be swayed again

2. No structured opposition ruling out alternatives to the disaster called APC

3. Sufferings has not reached people well. When the suffering reached the appropriate level, no kne will tell them to revolt.

4. Religion and tribalism. Enough said aboit these 2 evils that have drlebarred the progress of Nigeria and the politicians know them well and how to use them to their advantage. Note that this is not peculiar to one region, all tribes and regions practice these two evil cards.

They dont need to rig at all. The will likely win.

You lack knowledge and your response smacks of someone with shallow view of both history and international politics. They colonised you and they enslaved you....bla bla bla!!

Colonisation and slavery are 2 different things.

Colonisation led to a lot of organisstion, development and progress of the african tribes who knew nothing more than fighting wars among themselves endlessly, mindless savagery and cannibalism. There some islands near the indian ocean up to this day that are still far behind civilisation, rejected cplonisation and still canibalise themselves till today to give an idea of whst Africa coukd have been wothout colonisation.. Africa would still have remained like that if not for colonisation. The colonialists built hospitals, schools, telegram lines and other critical facilitates that many of you still use till today and they got paid for all of that using your natural resources and taxes. The most important thing they gave you was organisation and civilisation. So why are you asking for compensation again after frittering away all the good things the Europeans left behind to turn yourselves to dependants on hand outs.

Again, slavery started with the Arabs, and African chiefs were already selling their people who were captives of wars before Europeans came. Why have you not asked the Arabs to pay you reparations, why are you focused on the Europeans only. You are simply looking for hand outs to loot like you all looted your commonwealth ledt behind by the Europeans. Get your lazy bum off and work it iut for development and stop demanding stupid entitlements. China never did, India had also stopped such a victom mentality. They are both progressing to be industrialised nations after colonisation.

For context, i read a report recently that majority of the funds that was used to develop the Mortgage indutsry in Canada, France, Britain and Switzerland between 1980 and 2000 came from monies transferred from African countries(probably looted funds sent for safekeeping). This helped those foreign countries to give thier people 25 years morthage at a rate as low as 0.5% whereas Africa where those looted funds came from have endemic housing deficit and near zero to none mortgage system existing. You can imagine.

For your knowledge, the Mongolians(Under the imperial Ghengis Khan) captured the inhabitants of present day China and used them for slavery for hundred of years. China did not weep for generations and began to ask for reparations....the generations of Chinese went to work to develop themselves, choosing right leaders to make the right decisions for them, that is why currently hundreds of Mongolians queue up at the Chinese embassy in Mongolia to go and do labour (slave)work in China.

Keep voting thieves and clueless drug barons and other criminals into power and then be asking for hand outs from people who voted the right people.

Nobody even listens to you anymore when you cry for reparations

frog12:
we don't have evidence that it was a business between african chiefs and europeans. perhaps they lied to avoid blame.

all that matters is they enslaved blacks. and see what they did after? they colonised us !!!
if they can colonise us and even colonise black south africans until 1993. so is it still a business between african chiefs or they pointed the gun at them?

PoliticsRe: Kemi Badenoch's LIES About Nigeria, By Femi Fani-kayode by Blazetrailer:
Wrong. Slavery was a business between the African chiefs who captured and sold their kits and kin for foreing commodities. It was not like they came here and captured people on their own.

Besides, why are Africans so vociferous about reparations from the West when history states that organised slavery in Africa started way back around 1200s when the Touaregs sold their war captives to the Arabs in the Trans sahara slave markets. Why are they not asking for reparations from the Arabs too. Why the focus on the West? Lazy buffoons, you voted thieves ans drug lords as leaders and yet you want others to bail you out.

PoliticsRe: Africa Should Demand For ODA Instead Of Colonial Reparations. by Blazetrailer: 6:19am On Nov 10, 2024
Bro, let us pick these things and be clear about what exactly the demands of reparation are and I will tell you 100 reasons I don't believe in it nor pray it succeeds.

First off, is the reparation for slavery or colonialism? Let us be clear. Reparations by history emanated from outcome of wars where the losers have heavy fines imposed on them for the losses the victors might have incurred prosecuting the war or to punitively impose some "demands" for restitution. Going by this, Reparations is a form of restitution imposed on losers.

If the reparation being demanded is as a result of colonialism, we all know that Africa as a continent benefited more from colonialism in the form of organisation, relatively peaceful atmosphere for growth and opportunities even though the resources of the continent were carted away as a form of payment for those developments. Otherwise, Africa would have a remained terribly disjointed continent where the inhabitants waged war against themselves ceaselessly and mindlessly\. It would have been a cesspit of crudity and savagery where civilization was far off from. to give you an idea, google Andaman Islands, Sentinelese Islands and other places where civilization have not got to and where they still cannibalize themselves for food up to today. So if we agree that we had some form of benefits from colonialism, it will be wrong and innate for anyone to be asking for hand outs from that because they gave you developments, organisation and infrastructure while you parted with your natural resources. Equation is balanced.

Secondly, if we are asking for reparation for slavery from the West, then it smacks of stupidity and opportunism and that is why it becomes incredulously laughed off whenever African countries ask for it. Let us break it down. If you check history well, organised slavery in Africa started in the late 1200s with trans-sahara slave trade among the Touaregs and the Mandingos who sell their war captives off to the Arabs as barter for other arabian goods. The Europeans and Americas simply came to participate in a trade that had been well developed by the 1700s when the got involved and saw that the African chiefs had thriving slave markets and such was the labour they could make use of for the growing plantations, they simply tapped into it. They did not force your people to sell off their kit and kin. Note as some had stated, African chiefs were active participants and were duly paid. This is contrary to the victim picture that were painted to us in schools as if the Europeans came here and captured people to bundle on slave ships. They were captured and sold off by their own people for selfish and illusory prosperity. Contrast these to other reparations or ODA that emanated from wars that Japan and maybe Germany paid for. if all of these were true, why are people not asking for reparations from Arabian countries like Iraq, Iran, Jordan and other countries that sprung off from the Mesopotamia region(progenitors of the arabians). The fact that they are all focused on western countries alone clearly shows that what is being asked for is nothing but hand outs. If the Western countries were as poor of disorganized as the Arabian countries that were involved in slave trade across Africa before the western countries joined, nobody will be begging for hand outs. The big difference here is the European and American countries focused on organisation and development of their societies while the Arabians were self destruct with barbarism and religious fervor. The call for reparation due to slavery in Africa will continue to be ignored solely because of this fact. The requestors are not honest, they are looking for free cash out.

Coming to some of the things you listed below, it is obvious that there is still the tendency towards self pity and continuous wailing by a lot of you rather than attack the issues. For instance;

1. The change in the gold standard was an American government internal policy. No one is forcing anyone to use it. Of course, it did have impact across the globe but why did some countries thrive despite that and many of such countries are currently lending money to the US e.g. China/Japan/Taiwan. Why do some currencies(GBP/Euro/Kuwaiti Dinar/Omani Dinar) consistently outperform the USD despite using the Gold standards. Get your acts together as a country and the gold standard stories will only be seen as a distraction.

2. Unfair trade practices? This is not clear. All countries try to use trade rules to favour their countries. China is currently doing same. If African countries have thoughtful leaders, they will not be stealing their commonwealth of their countries for safekeeping in these same Western countries that give them unfair trade conditions. I read a recent report that stated that cash flow(transferred funds for safekeeping) from Africa between 1980-2000 alone contributed largely to what countries like Canada, France and Switzerland(Swiss Banks) used to boost their own mortgage industry where people pay 0.5% for 25 years to own a house whereas Africa has the biggest housing crises. Yet you want reparations and hand outs...shioor!! Continue to call out unfairness. The world is capitalist and competitive, that is what countries like China,India,Singapore and UAE learnt and they are fighting it out that way rather than cry unfairness.

3. Structural adjustments and devaluations. This is laughable. If right decisions were made by the leaders and they did not sell their people out, they would not need to devalue their currencies. Stop all these victim mentality

4. Glorified slavery? Do you know how much talent is currently being wasted in many African countries? You don't have an idea. To give you an idea of which is worse, do a social experiment where Countries like US/Canada/Western European countries promise Africans visa on arrival to their countries, let us see how many people will remain even in your own household. There is what you call slavery but what 95% of Africans will dream to have access to, even if it is one day of their lives. I have heard of the health care support some Africans in asylum camp in Europe receive, it is 10 times better than what you get at LUTH or LASUSTH(at least I am familiar with what obtains there). That slavery where you get such medical care is more of a home than your "free" country where a reference to the teaching hospitals is a certain death. Which is more glorified?

I am against the call for reparations, especially when you have poor governance. A country with poor power supply where the leaders prefer to spend the little resources on buying private jets, new luxurious cars for themselves is asking for reparation/hand outs from countries where their leaders prefer to invest in public infrastructure like constant power for their people while flying commercial airlines and using regular cars. That sums it up for me. You will only be taken seriously when you have good leadership.

The developed world came about because of positive thinking and forward looking leadership and not slavery. A lot of you think slavery started with Africans alone. The Mongols(under Genghis Khan) took many of the Chinese as slaves and institutionalized a caste system in his dynasty. I don't see China blaming the Mongolians for their misery. They faced the issues head-on and currently they are on the path to being the biggest economy and the most advanced in the world. India have jettisoned the colonial blame game and are on the rise as well. Only Africans are still in the doldrum of blaming others for their misfortunes yet they keep promoting terrible leadership. Read "The State of Africa" by Martin Meredith and you would have a better understanding of why the Europeans willingly left Africa despite the abundance of resources. The clearly called it out that the Blacks are truly incapable of governing themselves well, they will keep fighting themselves and blaming others for their misfortunes while they sit on a pile of treasure.

I read a report that stated that cash flow from Africa between 1980-2000 alone contributed largely to what countries like Canada, France and Switzerland(Swiss Banks) used to boost their own mortgage industry where people pay 0.5% for 25 years to own a house whereas Africa has the biggest housing crises. Yet you want reparations and hand outs...shioor!!

3. Structural adjustments and devaluations. This is laughable. If right decisions were made by the leaders and they did not sell their people out, they would not need to devalue their currencies. Stop all these victim mentality

4. Glorified slavery? Do you know how much talent is currently being wasted in many African countries. to give you an idea of which is worse, do a social experiment where Countries like US/Canada/Western European countries promise Africans visa on arrival to their countries, let us see how many people will remain even in your own household. To give you an idea, I have heard of the health care support some Africans in asylum camp in Europe receive, it is 100 times better than what you get at LUTH or LASUSTH(at least I am familiar with what obtains there).

The clearly called it out that the Blacks are truly incapable of governing themselves well, they will keep fighting themselves and blaming others for their misfortunes while they sit on a pile of treasure

Joker......And in your mind, you think any of these these is taken serioulsy?

Oya, add your own....so you can increase the number and join the queue of jokers.

As someone stated, dont get serious with revamping some of the organisation and legacies the colonialists left for you, be waiting for handouts.....suponu!

Lol, you keep dancing in circles

It is a trait of dafts to keep demanding for things that are unreasonable and unattainable while hoping one day someone will listen to them. The red indians of Dakota and other Cherokee tribes learnt that in a hard way. They are losers of today in present day America. If you dont have might, all plea for reparations are in vain. Get up, fix your issues and develop yourselves first.

Keep demanding for development and monetary reparations....while you voted clueless leaders...ode!

Keep demanding for it, when you are about to die, pass it on to your children to continue to demand for it while voting in thieves as leaders. Oponu!!

llakes4real:
Stop playing semantics on me. As far as I am concerned ODA and monetary reparations are the same. I only suggested we demand for ODA, because I dont trust African leaders, who may loot the monetary reparations. The ODA will directly benefit the continent even with corruption, which is universal (not a black man thing, as you have inferred).

Whether they accept the demand or not, we should still demand, so it will be on record that they hurt us, and that we want justices. That is how sane people behave. Not just roll over for anybody.
PoliticsRe: Africa Should Demand For ODA Instead Of Colonial Reparations. by Blazetrailer: 2:22am On Nov 10, 2024
unfortunately for you, I am not even anywhere near the place you think I am from. It is typical of retard to think alongside the tribes/religion/other irrelevance when arguing. It is weak. I am not from same tribe as Kalu.

As for the rest of your gibberish about my progress or location, as irrelevant as those are to the points of engagement, I am glad to know your are once again wrong. Keep making foolish assumptions. Just as you assumed any serious person will listen to your cry for handouts while you keep voting thieves into power.

You are "demanding" for reparations, right? OK, keep sitting down on your lazy bum and continue to beg for handouts....oponu!!!

llakes4real:
The other parts have been replied above.

I serious doubt you are doing well. Are you any different from Kalu? You came from the same primitive pool as Uzor Kalu, but you somehow want to whitewash yourself. How?

You couldnt make anything of yourself in Nigeria, nor impact your society, but you want us to believe you are making something of yourself in Canada. This is impossible!
PoliticsRe: Africa Should Demand For ODA Instead Of Colonial Reparations. by Blazetrailer: 2:17am On Nov 10, 2024
Lol...wonders shall never end. I can extract it from your revised position below that what you are invariably "demanding" for is reparation and coated in the form of ODAs

Now that you have admitted you were asking for reparations, brother, take it from me, no serious country will even pretend to listen to you. Do you know how many years the call for reparation for Africa have been going? Take it, no serious country will give you shishi!

Get your ass off the chair and go work hard. Lazy bum!

As for your other foaming in the mouth, I disregard it. Its not worth my time

llakes4real:
Dont lose steam! Come back.

What is the exact point you are trying to make? Japan paid those it hurt, but you have been defending nonsense.

Since you are too lazy to read the first link:

What excuse do you have for the countries stated above that are demanding justice? Hmm?
PoliticsRe: Africa Should Demand For ODA Instead Of Colonial Reparations. by Blazetrailer: 1:50am On Nov 10, 2024
This is how to know the semi literates online. Lol!

Funds paid by Japan to many countries going by their Treaty 49 was pure and pure compensation, same thing as reparations, hand outs.

Japan paid reparations to both China, Burma, Korea and other small Islands it invaded because of the atrocities committed by its soldiers during the wars and not any nonsense ODA. Read it up. Same was offered to Russia/Soviet Union but the rejected it considering it condescending to their status.

What this buffoon has been talking about since is reparations. That is, for some countries to dash you money due to past events. ODA is a synonym for reparations.

llakes4real:
Stop arguing like a depressed clown! All these myopic questions have answers all over the internet. Why wont Africans work? Another stupid assumption. To complement the work and efforts of Africans at overcoming the damages of colonialism, we (Africans alone, not those cosplaying as Africans) should seek redress for colonial exploitations.

Between 1979 and 2022 Japan provided ODA to China, it has created a robust foundation as one of the key pillars of Japan-China relations, as well.

https://www.mofa.go.jp/policy/oda/region/e_asia/china/index.html

Till date, Mexico demands reparations from Spain, but not exactly in the form of development. After Mexico gained independence from Spain in 1821, the Mexican government demanded that Spain provide compensation for the damages and losses suffered during the colonial period.

Mexico's government began to demand reparations from Spain for the historical injustices and human rights abuses committed during the colonial period. In fact, Mexico repudiated debts owed to Spain, and still demands reparation.

Spain hits back at Mexico in row over colonial rights abuses

Note: Spain has nothing to do with Brazil.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said that Portugal "takes full responsibility" for the slave trade atrocities of its colonial period.

President of Portugal calls for slave trade reparations

Europe were the first to invade Turkey space through the Roman empire. Byzantine Empire was the remnant of the Roman Empire. The They didnt pay themselves that was why the "revenge" went on.
PoliticsRe: Africa Should Demand For ODA Instead Of Colonial Reparations. by Blazetrailer:
Lol...again, you exhibited limitation in reasoning. I am not surprised though, someone who thinks his problems were caused by others would never escape from the victim mentality that stunts his growth.

You have exibited so much limited exposure here and just as a few others have questioned your reasoning too, i qurstion your sanity even. From the little you have written here, I can see you are not only completely shallow and limited in both history and social politics but stunted in comprehension too.

You can imagine someone whobm agreed that Africa benefited from the organisation and developments that colonialism brought but wants to receive damages for colonialism again? Is this not stupidity.

China did not demand development from Japan but simply rode on the administartive expertise gained from the Japanese domination to improve their technological journey and drove the Japanese out when the were ready. They combined it with socialism and are now comepting to be number 1 economy and the mkst techinlogical diverse industrial nation in the world.

Medieval Europe(Germany/France/Austria/Hungary) did not "demand" for development from Turkey...they simply took the goodness they learnt from the rulership of the Ottomans and added it to their own drive for equitable and just society to create a continent the descendants of the Ottomans are envious of today.....

Not that this matters to the argument but since you brought it up, FYI I am not in a refugee camp, in fact, i am rising up in the corporate ladder here. Some of us decided to take the war of personal development seriously to create opportunities for ourselves and our coming generations rather than wait for handouts from others while pandering to thieves and drug lords as leaders. An unserious country where half of the law markers are on EFCC corrupt list including a senate president and an ex convict like Kalu Uzor Kalu making laws for them but wants colonialists to develop them by compesating them...imagine the buffoonery??

You cant help yourself but vote thieves into power but demanding others to use their resources to develop you.....huh One of the most stupid ans obtuse line of reasoning i have ever read.

Mumu, keep demanding for development, as China demanded from Japan and Germany/France demanded from Turkey...oponu!!

llakes4real:
Just above this post, you wrote so many gibberish to justify why Africans should not seek damages from the colonists, and that we should focus on fixing all the problems alone.

Then here you are going 180 degrees, to state who deserves reparations and who does not. You then went ahead to make an unintelligent assumption ("Give $300 trillion to African"wink.

You arrogantly suggest that African countries dont deserve reparation, but the US deserved theirs. Remember, I stated ODA not reparations.

Nevertheless, I think you are right -- Africa does not deserve reparation or anything. If you are an African and you can be this condescending about the continent, then the colonialist have every right to ignore the calls for justice.

My conjectures (to balance the condescension):

I am happy you didnt vote and not in Nigeria, and I serious hope you are not one of those African refugees that are under-developing Europe or North America. Ensure not to ruin their country, because I suspect you may not to have anything to offer that society.

PoliticsRe: Africa Should Demand For ODA Instead Of Colonial Reparations. by Blazetrailer: 11:13pm On Nov 09, 2024
demand developmenthuh How? You making it sound like it is a right? This is beyond stupid!

Did China demand development from Japan?
Did Mexico and Brazil demand development from Spain?
Did Europe demand development from Turkey??
Those countries went to work to develop themselves by voting in appropriate leaders and focused on concentric development

so what is the job of your leaders if you have to demand development from your colonial masters?......to keep looting your commonwealth and oppressing you, abi?

Even the Cree and Metis nations of Canada are tired of demanding for handouts and are currently working on economic models to develop their settlements by having their own schools, farms, plantations, banks, mortgage institutions, refinery and all sorts. Things given freely are never valued, unless you develop them yourself.

Remain there and be demanding development, you hear!

llakes4real:
Again, read the OP.

I simply stated that we demand development, not direct money.

Where is the evidence for this bogus claim: "How did you get educated? How did you come about hospitals, rails, etc?".

You must be naive, if you think the Europeans crossed the seas to come and build you "this and that" in Africa.
PoliticsRe: Africa Should Demand For ODA Instead Of Colonial Reparations. by Blazetrailer: 11:06pm On Nov 09, 2024
Nonsense!! Reparations are given to countries where there is that strong belief that the people are capable of governing themselves well, not the chaotic and rudderless nations.

Give $300 trillion to Africans and put them in modern day USA/Canada and then move citizens of USA/Canada to modern day Africa and give them both 10 years and let us see the results.

llakes4real:
Even the US got reparations from the British Empire:
